Chapter 260 Wilmer Steps Forward

Chapter 260 Wilmer Steps Forward

Moments later, Alaric kicked open the door to the underground bar.

"Search!" he barked, and several men in black quickly spread out, roughly shoving aside anyone in their way as they checked each booth and corner.

Seeing this, the patrons' faces changed, and the once loud music fell silent.

Alaric scanned the room coldly but didn't see the familiar figure he was looking for.

The men in black returned, shaking their heads. "Mr. Percy, we didn't find Ms. Medici."

He frowned, his fierce gaze turning to the bartender. His voice was low and dangerous, "The red-haired girl who came in earlier, where is she?"

The bartender jumped, exchanging nervous glances with the waitstaff before lowering his head and shaking it, too scared to speak.

Caroline grew impatient. "Don't play dumb! If you all want to act mute, I'll make sure you never speak again! Let's see how loyal you Christopher's lackeys really are!"

A waiter trembled and stammered, "It's been busy tonight. I didn't notice."

"You must have security cameras," Kian stepped forward, his voice cold. "Pull up the footage!"

"We don't have access," the bartender said, glancing up just enough to meet Alaric's predatory eyes before quickly looking down again. "Besides, the place is booked for a private event tonight. We can't just—"

Before he could finish, a man in a black leather jacket walked over, his voice lazy. "I was wondering who it was. Turns out it's you guys. Barging into my place like this, don't you think that's a bit disrespectful?"

As he stopped in front of Alaric and his group, Caroline recognized him as Wilmer.

She sneered, "The president of Crystal City, following Christopher around like a lapdog. Aren't you ashamed? Hand over Cecilia now!"

"Foolish," Wilmer scoffed, giving her a disdainful look. "There's no Cecilia or anyone from the Taylor family here. Search all you want, you won't find them."

He glanced at the nervous patrons, "These people are here to celebrate my new project. They're my guests. How do you plan to compensate for scaring them?"

Caroline gritted her teeth. "Your taste in company is really something."

Alaric's eyes turned dangerous. He turned to his men, "Check the nearby vehicle cameras. Report any leads immediately."

"Yes, sir." The men in black retreated.

Wilmer raised an eyebrow, looking unbothered.

Just then, another man in black approached, handing Alaric a small sealed bag containing a tiny amount of powder scraped from a table. "Mr. Percy, we found contraband."

Wilmer's expression changed. Damn Christopher, he didn't clean up the drugs!

"Get your manager," Alaric's eyes narrowed at the bartender. "This bar is done."

The bartender and waitstaff's faces turned ashen.

Meanwhile, Cecilia was roughly shoved into a black sedan by Ten Eyes. The windows were specially treated, making it impossible to see inside. As the car started, she tried to memorize the route, but they deliberately took a convoluted path, even passing through tunnels multiple times to disorient her.

After what felt like an eternity, the car finally stopped. Cecilia was pulled out, greeted by the salty sea breeze and the sound of waves crashing in the distance.

"Welcome to Dream Bay," Ten Eyes sneered. "Nice place for a 'vacation,' don't you think?"

Cecilia remained silent, prompting him to shrug. "Funny coming from a Silvermoon City girl, right? By the way, I don't welcome you at all."

Ignoring him, Cecilia pressed her lips together and looked around. She noted the many standalone villas surrounded by high walls and gardens, all beautifully maintained.

She remembered considering this place for her honeymoon with Julian in her past life, but he had refused to spend any more time with her than necessary, so they never went anywhere.

Soon, Cecilia was taken to a room on the second floor of a villa. The door had an electronic lock, and even the windows were sealed. It reminded her of when Julian had confined her.

These people really think alike.

She glanced around the room and saw Christopher already lounging on the sofa. He lazily lifted his chin as she entered. "Get some rest tonight. We leave at dawn."

Cecilia just gave a cold smile. She was about to head to the bedroom when he stopped her.

"Take a look at this first." Christopher handed her a document and a map.

Cecilia frowned, a sense of foreboding rising within her.

The hand-drawn map was different from the one Aria had hidden in the documents. It was much more detailed, even more so than the one she had found in the Medici Villa. The other document contained strange yet familiar symbols—she recognized them as the Webb family's unique code.

How did Christopher find these? Was he the one who left traces in the Medici Villa that day?

Suppressing her shock, Cecilia feigned indifference. "Mr. Taylor, I'm not a geography or cryptography expert."

Christopher laughed, standing up to look down at her. "You don't need to be. You already know it."

"I don't understand what you mean," Cecilia's tone was hostile.

Christopher just gave her a knowing look and left, locking the door behind him.

Cecilia lowered her eyes, clutching the documents tightly.

The next day, outside the headquarters of The Wells Entertainment Company.

Henry supported Silas as they stood solemnly before the media, with a weary-looking Tamsin behind them.

"Recently, false rumors about Juniper have severely damaged her reputation," Silas's voice was steady and authoritative. "After investigation, the accusations of her being a 'gambler's daughter' are completely fabricated, a malicious attempt to slander her!"

"Luna was Juniper's adoptive mother, and I am grateful to her. Now that she's passed, I don't want to see her name dragged through the mud!"

The reporters buzzed with excitement, cameras flashing.

Tamsin kept her head down, her nose slightly red, fingers tightly gripping her clothes.

Silas glanced at her with disdain but continued coldly, "The Wells Entertainment Company will pursue legal action against the slanderers to clear Juniper's name."
