Chapter 259 Cecilia Is Taken Away

Chapter 259 Cecilia Is Taken Away

"Not bad," Cecilia said coolly, her face showing no emotion. "If Mr. Taylor called me here just to watch your boring performance, then I'm outta here."

Just as she was about to stand, a long-haired guy in white walked up to their table and gave Christopher a slight bow. "Mr. Taylor, it's taken care of."

Christopher, still staring at Cecilia, replied lazily, "Let's hear it."

The man straightened up, his voice steady. "The guy overdosed, causing severe nerve damage. He's been sent to the hospital."

He paused, glancing at Cecilia, who was still standing. "This batch of drugs still needs work."

Christopher nodded, his tone detached. "Step it up."

Listening to their conversation, Cecilia's frown deepened. She hesitated, then locked eyes with Christopher. "What drugs?"

"Don't ask questions you shouldn't," the man in white warned, his voice carrying a hint of menace.

Christopher raised an eyebrow, seemingly amused. "Not the same batch used on you."

"The poisoned people at the Elikin family wine cellar event—was that your doing too?" Her voice was soft but carried a clear accusation.

Christopher's lips curled into a slight smile, but before he could respond, the man in white snapped, "Watch your words."

His eyes were sharp as knives, his tone icy. "That wasn't Mr. Taylor's order. It was Kingsnake Laboratory acting on their own."

Cecilia's pupils contracted sharply. "Kingsnake Laboratory is under the Taylor family?"

If that were true, why couldn't she find any information on them?

The man in white snorted, not denying it.

"Ten Eyes, explain to her," Christopher instructed the man, then gestured for Cecilia to sit down.

"Originally, Kingsnake Laboratory was entirely Mr. Taylor's operation," Ten Eyes explained coldly, his hostility towards Cecilia evident. "But over time, there were disagreements, and new elements were introduced. They developed their own ideas, which Mr. Taylor allowed. Currently, Kingsnake Laboratory has its own leaders but generally follows Mr. Taylor's orders."

Cecilia frowned. It seemed the Hunted Shadows Guild, Kingsnake Laboratory, Aria, and Christopher had all collaborated privately. The relationship between Kingsnake Laboratory and the Taylor family was similar to that between the Hamilton family and the Dark Hand Syndicate.

As for their goals...

"Ms. Medici, are you interested in Kingsnake Laboratory?" Christopher's eyes glinted dangerously from behind his mask, interrupting Cecilia's thoughts. "I could take you there someday."

"No need," Cecilia replied, meeting his gaze with a cold smile. "I'm quite afraid Mr. Taylor might use me for human experiments."

Christopher chuckled but said nothing. He downed his drink, flexed his wrist, and spoke softly, "Ms. Medici, you must have heard of Ethereal Isle?"

"Of course," Cecilia replied with a knowing smile. As she suspected, Christopher was interested in her because of Isis's Tear and the treasures of Ethereal Isle.

Seeing her quick response, Christopher seemed to smile. "Since you refuse to join us, how about a partnership?"

"We're heading to Ethereal Isle in a few days. I hope you'll join us."

Cecilia's eyes widened in surprise but she quickly masked it. She twirled the straw in her drink, then replied nonchalantly, "What's in it for me if I agree?"

"Enough!" Ten Eyes snapped, glaring at her. "Mr. Taylor has already shared so much important information with you. What more do you want?"

Cecilia pouted, looking a bit aggrieved. She sighed deeply. "You have no idea. The Medici family is bankrupt. I have to repay the money Ollie embezzled, not to mention the company's millions in debt."

She shook her head, her tone even more dejected. "Even as an executive at a new company, the salary is nothing. I had to borrow money to fight Julian in court. If Mr. Taylor truly appreciates me, he should offer me some benefits."

Hearing this, Ten Eyes' disdain deepened. He turned slightly, his sharp features highlighted by the light, but his words were harsh. "The once-arrogant Ms. Medici, reduced to this state. Serves you right."

Cecilia ignored him, rolling her eyes.

She quickly shifted her gaze to Christopher, who was scrolling through his phone, a faint smile on his lips.

After a few minutes, he put away his phone and looked at Cecilia with dark red eyes. "One billion dollars."

"That should be more than enough to clear your debts," Christopher said, sitting casually but exuding an undeniable pressure. "Living in poverty must be hard for a noble lady like you."

Cecilia blinked, her eyes widening.

Christopher had found her account information in just a few minutes? And he was so generous?

"From tonight, you'll stay with us until we leave the island," he added coldly before Cecilia could respond.

"Wait!" Cecilia's voice rose. "Mr. Taylor, I can't accept dirty money. Besides, I've been in the news a lot lately. Staying with you would be inconvenient."

"I don't care," Christopher replied, leaning back on the sofa, his gaze turning icy. "Don't expect your friends to save you."

Cecilia's heart raced. She had prepared for the worst when she came here.

Ten Eyes looked down at Cecilia, his tone mocking. "From the moment you entered the bar, your communication and tracking devices were disabled. Even if you had backup outside, they wouldn't find you." He leaned closer, his voice lower. "Because we won't be leaving through the front door."

"You'd better cooperate. We'll let you go when the time comes."

Christopher's smile vanished, his eyes cold. "Take her to rest."

As soon as he spoke, Ten Eyes grabbed Cecilia's wrist, his grip almost crushing her bones.

Cecilia winced but held back her pain, glaring at him.

"Let go of me. I can walk myself."

Meanwhile, outside the bar.

Alaric glanced at the time, then slammed his fist on the steering wheel, his eyes filled with rage. "We can't wait any longer."

Kian placed a steadying hand on his shoulder, his voice urgent but calm. "Don't be rash! Acting impulsively will only alert them. What if they take her away?"

"We haven't heard from Cecilia for two hours. She said she wouldn't be gone this long!" Caroline's eyes were red. "Christopher can't be trusted!"

Alaric frowned, then suddenly pushed open the car door, his presence menacing. "Even if we have to tear this place apart, we're getting her out!"
