Chapter 261 You Killed Silas!
Chapter 261 You Killed Silas!
After making his statement, Silas led Tamsin back to the president's office at The Wells Entertainment Company. The heavy wooden door closed slowly, quickly shutting out the noise from outside.
"Happy now?" Silas's kindness vanished, replaced by a cold, hard look.
Tamsin stood to the side, lightly rubbing the lace on her sleeve. Her voice remained soft but carried a barely noticeable chill. "Happy enough."
She paused, noticing Silas's grim expression, and added with a cold smile, "Relax, this is a win-win. You clear my name, and I help you minimize your losses and keep The Wells Entertainment Company's dirty secrets safe. It's fair."
"Clear your name?" Silas's gaze turned icy as he stared at Tamsin. "Your mother must be a pitiful woman, with a daughter who won't even acknowledge her."
At this, Henry suddenly burst into a loud, unexpected laugh.
Both Silas and Tamsin were taken aback.
"What are you laughing at?"
"Father," Henry said, his eyes filled with a mocking smile, "there's something I've never told you."
Silas frowned, a strange feeling rising in his chest.
Tamsin's face darkened. She glared at Henry, shaking her head slightly, signaling him to stop.
"I've known for a long time where your real daughter, the true Juniper, is," Henry continued calmly, ignoring Tamsin. "She lives in Silvermoon City now, under a new name, living a good life."
"Father, do you think she saw the news? Saw Tamsin on Dad's Big Competition?" He smirked, his eyes growing colder. "The answer is, she did. When I found her, I asked if she wanted to come back to the Wells family with me, but she refused."
Silas's pupils contracted sharply, his lips turning pale and bloodless.
"Do you know what she said?" Henry's smile deepened. "She said she no longer considers you her father."
"All these years, you've been searching for her, ignoring my mother. You waited for my mother to die, not knowing Juniper's mother had also passed away. She was left alone, without parents, without support. You have no idea how she survived. Finding her was difficult, but that's not your fault." Henry watched Silas's expression change. "But now, Juniper doesn't want to be found. She's completely disappointed in you."
A sharp pain exploded in Silas's heart. His bony fingers clutched at his chest, his breathing becoming rapid and broken, like an old bellows.
"No, no..." he muttered in agony.
In his life, he had only loved one woman! If it weren't for his parents' strong opposition and their schemes, he wouldn't have been separated from her, and Juniper wouldn't have suffered so much!
He was a failure as a father!
Suddenly, his legs gave out, and he collapsed forward as if his bones had been removed.
With a heavy thud, Silas fell to the ground, his head striking the corner of the office desk, instantly spreading a pool of bright red blood.
His wrinkled face turned ashen, his blue lips twitching uncontrollably, unable to make any sound.
Tamsin stepped back in fright, her high heels catching on the edge of the carpet, nearly causing her to fall.
Her eyes widened, the color draining from her face, her lips trembling uncontrollably. "Henry! What are you doing?"
Her voice was shrill and distorted. Silas's collapsed figure swayed before her eyes, the pool of blood spreading, threatening to reach her feet.
Henry merely stood by, smirking. He calmly adjusted his suit sleeve and pressed the intercom button. "Get the head of security in here."
"What are you doing? Are you crazy?" Tamsin lunged at him, grabbing his arm, her body shaking uncontrollably, her meticulously styled hair falling messily over her shoulders. "You bastard, say something!"
The office door suddenly opened.
Henry shook her off and addressed the newcomers with a pained expression. "Call an ambulance! Ms. Brooks lost control and pushed Father! I couldn't stop her in time!"
Tamsin was struck as if by lightning, her blood freezing.
She saw the shocked looks from the others and finally understood the trap she had fallen into.
"Mr. Wells already had a heart condition. What are we going to do? There's so much blood!" The young assistant cried out in panic, wiping his nose and pointing at Tamsin angrily. "You really are a fraud! You're not the real Juniper! How could you be so heartless? How could you kill Silas?"
"It wasn't me!" Tamsin screamed, disregarding her image. "It was Henry's words that killed Silas! He just happened to fall there. If anyone's to blame, it's Henry!"
But Henry said nothing, only looking at her with a pained, hateful expression. She continued to curse him as she was dragged out by several bodyguards, her figure gradually disappearing.
Henry dropped his expression, took one last look at the pool of blood, and left the room. He had only intended to trigger Silas's illness, not to cause such a messy scene.
He hadn't expected Silas to be so unlucky.
Meanwhile, near the Ethereal Isle.
A speedboat cut through the thick fog, its engine's roar swallowed by the damp, cold air, leaving only a dull hum. Cecilia stood on the deck, the chill creeping up her spine. The world around her was a white blur, visibility less than ten meters, as if the entire world had been swallowed by the eerie mist.
Christopher stood with his hands behind his back, his gaze calm beneath his mask, seemingly unfazed by the deathly silence. Ten Eyes stood beside him, holding a sophisticated navigation device, the screen's signal flickering intermittently, as if being interfered with.
"The signal's getting weaker," Ten Eyes said, frowning, his tone grim.
"That's normal," Christopher replied coolly. "This island was never meant to be found."
Cecilia squinted, trying to make out the shapes ahead through the fog, but saw nothing but the occasional swirl of gray-white mist.
The sea breeze carried a damp, salty smell, mixed with a faint hint of decay, making her nerves tense.
The speedboat suddenly slowed, the hull vibrating slightly as if it had hit something.
"We're here," Ten Eyes said quietly.
