Chapter 164: Choosing Servants for You
Vera nodded very reluctantly, but inside, she was already furious with Bianca.
No matter how you looked at it, Bianca was nothing but a trophy wife. Why did she get to stand beside Terrence?
So many women had come and gone around Terrence - weren't they all better than Bianca?
That's what Vera thought, but under Terrence's watchful gaze, she still invited Bianca into the private room.
Bianca stayed by Terrence's side the whole time, not greeting anyone, while Vera's eyes remained fixed on her.
Bianca naturally noticed, but her only response was to move even closer to Terrence.
Sure enough, seeing this move made Vera even more upset.
Bianca couldn't help but smile, leaning close to Terrence's ear. "Looks like your cousin really doesn't like me!"
Terrence slowly looked up, pulling at the corner of his mouth before saying, "Don't worry about her. She's young and doesn't know better. If she really dares to bully you, just tell me."
Bianca nodded thoughtfully.
"Okay! Then I'm putting myself in your hands."
The two whispered to each other, and Vera was so angry she didn't even want to look their way.
But she had no choice but to go toast Bianca. Bianca lazily raised her glass, as if their earlier conflict had never happened, and said slowly, "Vera, welcome back to the country. If you ever need my help with anything, just say so. I'll do my best!"
Vera gritted her teeth but nodded.
"Great! I hope you won't refuse me when the time comes!"
Throughout the evening, they got along fairly well - except for Vera's face turning blue with anger.
When leaving, Bianca couldn't help teasing Terrence.
"Why isn't your cousin seeing us off? Can't she stand to watch anymore?"
Terrence scooped Bianca up by the waist and put her in the car. Once the door closed, Terrence immediately leaned in.
"She'll have to watch whether she can stand it or not. You're my wife. If she doesn't accept you, then I don't have a cousin named Vera."
Bianca laughed.
If Vera heard these words, she'd probably go crazy with anger.
But Bianca never expected that Vera's appearance would actually benefit Blair.
When Blair showed up, Vera's friends immediately told her who Blair was.
Vera's previously friendly expression instantly turned cold as she looked at Blair. "So you're Bianca's sister. No wonder you look so cheap."
Being called cheap by Vera, Blair couldn't help but feel shocked and quite upset.
And this attitude was all because of Bianca.
Blair worked hard to suppress her anger, then smiled at Vera. "Ms. Sharp, do you have some conflict with Bianca? Actually, Bianca just has a bit of a temper. Don't take it personally. She was like this at home too, but our parents always protected her..."
Blair trailed off, but she'd already expressed everything she wanted to say.
Hearing this, Vera slowly raised her eyebrows, then laughed coldly.
"So she was like that at home, too. I really don't know what Terrence sees in her! A bitch like that doesn't deserve to marry into the Anderson family."
Blair reached out and grabbed Vera's hand.
"Bianca, she's actually very kind. She just went down the wrong path."
Seeing Blair still speaking up for Bianca, Vera snorted coldly.
"Kind? She's just extremely fake, that's all. Oh, and she clings to the powerful. One day, I'm going to rip off that mask and show Terrence her true colors!"
Blair was secretly delighted. Vera didn't notice the change in Blair's expression at all - she was already thinking about how to expose Bianca's disguise.
"Ms. Sharp, you shouldn't..." Blair seemed about to speak up for Bianca again, but Vera cut her off.
"You're gentle and kind, so naturally those people bully you. Don't worry, when I deal with her, I'll help you get your revenge too!"
Without waiting for Blair to say anything, Vera had already turned and walked away.
When Blair was alone, she couldn't help but break into a wild grin.
She muttered to herself.
"Bianca, hahahaha..."
Vera called Bianca directly.
"Bianca, I just got back to the country and don't have anywhere to go, so I'd like to visit you and Terrence. Bianca, you wouldn't refuse me, would you?"
Bianca was at school at the time. Hearing this, she raised her eyebrows.
How could Vera's visit be just a simple visit? She was definitely up to something.
Bianca couldn't help but laugh coldly.
"Bianca, don't you welcome me?"
Vera asked with some hurt in her voice.
Bianca pressed her lips together and finally agreed.
At the agreed time, Vera showed up with several gifts.
Seeing only Bianca in the apartment's living room, Vera looked around. "Bianca, where's Terrence?"
"Terrence is working in his study. He'll come out in a bit."
Bianca wasn't lying. After saying this, she sat on the sofa and gestured for Vera to sit down too.
After Vera sat down with a smile, she suddenly said, "Bianca, do you really think you're good enough for Terrence? Terrence is top-tier talent. Sure, you're pretty, but just being pretty isn't enough."
Bianca crossed her arms, knowing Vera was looking for trouble again.
Bianca shot back, "Then who do you think is good enough for Terrence? You?"
Vera was instantly speechless.
"At least it should be someone who's a good wife. Bianca, look - since I got here, you haven't been a proper host. Why don't you cook dinner tonight and let me try it?"
In the nearby kitchen, the maid was cooking, and the delicious smell was wafting out. Bianca was actually getting a bit hungry.
Who knew Vera would make trouble out of nothing and pull this stunt?
Bianca sighed. Vera thought she'd struck a nerve, but then Bianca said:
"We have a maid. Why would I cook?"
"Let professionals do professional things. The maid will naturally prepare all the food. Or does your family not have maids? Do you need me to find you some?"
Bianca tilted her head slightly, and when she said this provocatively, Vera's face turned pale with anger.
Of course, her family had maids. She just wanted to target Bianca, but who knew Bianca wouldn't care about her tactics.
"Vera, do you need them? If so, I'll tell Terrence. You admire Terrence so much - let Terrence personally pick them for you!"
Vera bit her lower lip.
She admired Terrence, and Bianca wanted Terrence to pick maids for her?
What would Terrence think of her then?
