Chapter 165 Lingering Ties
"I didn't mean that!" Vera said through gritted teeth. "I just think you should handle Terrence's matters personally. After all, you're Terrence's wife."
"Is that so?" Bianca replied coolly. "But Terrence doesn't like me doing too much work. He thinks those things are tiring for me and I'm better off just staying at home."
Vera fell silent.
Bianca suddenly seemed to realize something and looked at Vera with great surprise.
"Vera, from the way you're acting, you must enjoy doing those things. How about you show us your skills today?"
Vera had been raised as a socialite since childhood - how could she possibly do that kind of work?
At Bianca's words, her face turned pale with anger, and finally she said through clenched teeth:
"I can't!"
"Vera, you asked me to do it, so I thought you could do it too. Turns out you're just as useless as me—just a pretty face. Wait, no—I'm better looking than you, so you're not even that."
Bianca raised her eyebrows, completely ignoring Vera's mounting anger.
Vera gently patted her chest, trying to calm herself down, but finally couldn't hold back. She suddenly stood up from the sofa.
"Bianca, don't you think you're going too far?"
"I think you're the one going too far."
Bianca stretched lazily, looking at Vera without any hesitation.
When their eyes met, Vera suddenly turned and left, clearly furious.
After Vera left, Terrence finally emerged from his study and sat down beside Bianca, holding her.
"Well? Feeling better now?"
Bianca snorted twice. "I even specifically arranged for a nice meal to be made, but she didn't have the luck to enjoy it!"
Bianca wasn't petty - she really had arranged for a good meal. But Vera didn't get to eat it. Instead, Bianca ate until she was stuffed. Later, as she lay in bed, Terrence came over and gently massaged her stomach.
His movements were tender, treating Bianca on the bed like a treasure.
After leaving, Vera regretted it. She should have exposed that woman's true colors to Terrence, not act like this.
But since she'd already left, she naturally couldn't go back.
Thinking about Blair and Bianca's relationship...
Blair must know more about Bianca.
She directly asked Blair to meet up.
"Ms. Ember, Bianca must bully you at home all the time, right?"
Vera asked directly.
Blair immediately lowered her head and denied it repeatedly. "No, no, Bianca just has a bit of a temper, but she doesn't bully me at home!"
Vera sneered. "Someone as gentle as you—Bianca would walk all over you!"
Blair looked up at Vera, then seemed to think of something and guiltily nodded immediately.
But Vera grabbed Blair's arm. "Tell me, what do you know!"
Blair kept shaking her head.
"I can't. I can't tell anyone about Bianca's business. She's my sister, no..."
"If you tell me, I'll help you get revenge. Once her true face is exposed, you'll be the only socialite of the Rodriguez family."
Vera stared at Blair, dangling what she thought was bait Blair couldn't refuse.
After a long while, Blair finally spoke.
"Bianca has actually been in contact with another man all along."
"What?"
Hearing this, Vera slapped the table in front of her, staring at Blair with disbelief.
Blair pretended to be scared but still placed her phone in front of Vera.
"These are photos I secretly took. Look, they were still in contact just a few days ago."
The content in the pictures was naturally fake, but to get Vera to go after Bianca, Blair had forged these photos.
They might not fool others, but they were enough to fool Vera.
After seeing these photos, Vera instantly flew into a rage.
"That bitch Bianca never deserved Terrence in the first place, and now she's cheating on him too."
"I know what Bianca is doing isn't right, but Ms. Sharp, Bianca must have just lost her way. If we just talk to her properly, she'll see reason!"
Blair continued pretending to be kind and innocent, but Vera waved her hand dismissively.
"You don't need to worry about this anymore. I'll handle it!"
With that, she turned and left, already planning to give Terrence a good warning.
Otherwise, Terrence would really be fooled by Bianca!
Blair watched Vera's departing figure, a smile spreading across her lips.
What a stupid woman - she believed everything she said!
Another weekend came, and Bianca, having nothing to do, remembered what Vera had said about cooking for Terrence. She'd thought Vera was just making trouble before, but now she suddenly felt like doing it.
After making the food, Bianca packed it in a container and headed to the company.
Fortunately, Bianca was familiar with the company and went straight up to Terrence's office on the top floor.
The office door wasn't closed. Just as Bianca was about to push it open, she heard a conversation inside.
"Mr. Anderson, they're... demanding that you go alone, otherwise they'll expose our business, and then that project will be ruined!"
The speaker was Barry, sounding quite anxious.
Terrence sat in his office chair, his fingers lightly tapping the desk, then suddenly looked up.
"Arrange a car for me. I have to go there today! If this project falls through, countless employees will lose their jobs."
But Barry said:
"But we don't know who these people are. What if they really have bad intentions and something happens to you?"
"Nothing will happen to me," Terrence said coldly.
Bianca stood outside, her hand suddenly tightening around the lunch box as a memory from her past life suddenly flashed through her mind.
In her past life, Terrence had spent two months in the hospital after being threatened by criminals and going in alone, getting seriously injured.
Although the criminals were eventually caught, Terrence's body had suffered very serious damage.
No!
She absolutely couldn't let Terrence go.
Bianca glanced at the lunch box in her hand, quietly took two steps back, placed her hand on a desk nearby, let the lunch box fall to the ground, then clutched her head and bent down sharply. She bit her lip, and it immediately turned pale.
The commotion quickly attracted Terrence and Barry. They came out, and seeing Bianca crouching on the ground looking terrible, Terrence immediately stepped forward, swept her up in his arms, and carried her into the office.
"Mr. Anderson." Barry wanted to mention what they'd just been discussing, but seeing Terrence shake his head, he immediately closed his mouth.
"Terrence." Bianca reached out and grabbed Terrence's hand. "My head hurts so much. Please stay with me."
Barry hesitated again, but Bianca just wouldn't let go of Terrence's hand.
"Terrence, ah..." Bianca let out a pained cry.
Terrence immediately said, "Bianca, hang in there. I'll take you to the hospital right away. You'll be fine soon, okay?"
