Chapter 48 Humiliating Isabella with Money
Hearing Alice's words, Scarlett nervously clenched her fists.
Although she had expected when coming here that the Perez Family had powerful connections, and even with evidence, it might not be enough to settle this matter.
She never imagined that Elizabeth's mother would be so arrogant and domineering.
"Alice, how can you do this?" Hannah couldn't stand it anymore. "Elizabeth was the one who started it..."
"Ms. Nguyen!" Alice shot her a quick glare and said coldly, "Don't forget, the Perez Family has donated a lot of money to Stellar High School over the years. You might not know about this, but I don't believe Principal Gregory Lopez doesn't."
She pulled out her phone to make a call. "I'll have Gregory come over right now!"
Isabella watched this scene, her eyes showing a cold gleam.
She had heard that Elizabeth's uncle was a leader in the Department of Education, but she never expected that Gregory, the principal of Stellar High School, was also one of the Perez Family's connections.
No wonder in their previous life, when Elizabeth and her friends bullied Scarlett to the point of suicide, they faced no consequences.
Gregory must have already received plenty of benefits from the Perez Family.
This was Emerald City, a world of power and money. As long as you had money and connections, even if you killed someone, you could still get away with it and live freely.
Jeremy spoke up: "Alice, there's no need to bother the principal over such a small matter."
He glanced at Isabella and said in a deep voice, "Isabella, apologize to Alice and Elizabeth."
Hearing this, Alice stopped dialing and looked down at Isabella from her high position.
Isabella stood against the wall, her back straight, her eyes cold and defiant. "You want me to apologize when I did nothing wrong? How ridiculous."
Jeremy's expression darkened when she talked back.
Isabella had striking looks, but she gave off an untamable wildness and a dark, hostile air, completely different from those obedient good students.
Jeremy couldn't see any respect for teachers in her eyes, nor the obedience and humility a student should have.
Clearly a bad student.
"No matter what the reason, it's wrong for you to hit someone!"
Isabella couldn't be bothered with him. She looked at Scarlett. "Give me your watch."
Scarlett froze, not knowing what she was planning, but handed over the watch anyway.
Isabella put the watch on her own wrist, looked at Alice, and smiled slightly, her eyes curving with an unclear meaning. "I wonder if your Elizabeth would get criticized if this thing got posted online."
Only then did Alice remember that the watch contained video of Elizabeth bullying Scarlett. Her heart jumped.
"You..."
"You bitch, how dare you threaten me!"
Her face flushed red with anger, and she charged at Isabella aggressively, trying to snatch the watch from Isabella's hand, but Isabella kicked her in the chest.
Alice stumbled back several steps and fell to the ground, knocking over the water dispenser with a crash and letting out a scream.
Jeremy was shocked and pointed at Isabella's nose, shouting: "Isabella! This is an office!"
Crazy!
Absolutely crazy!
In front of so many students, teachers, and him, the dean of students, she was acting so recklessly, attacking a student's parent.
The other teachers scrambled to help Alice up.
"Alice, are you okay?"
Alice's chest hurt terribly, and Isabella's kick had hit a sensitive spot. She glared at Isabella and shouted angrily with difficulty, "You... you dare kick me, you're finished! I'm telling you, you're finished, you bitch!"
"Alice, please don't be angry. Our school will definitely punish Isabella severely for what she did!"
Jeremy tried to calm Alice down while looking at Isabella angrily. "Hand over the watch and apologize to Alice!"
Isabella looked at him, her clear eyes calm. "You know she tried to grab my things first, and now you're helping the bully?"
The coldness in Isabella's eyes sent chills down people's spines.
Jeremy frowned with displeasure at her attitude. "It's just a small matter, what are you still fussing about? You're not really going to post the video online, are you?"
If Isabella had bad intentions and wanted to use this to ruin Elizabeth, he absolutely wouldn't allow it!
"Apologize to Alice immediately and delete the recording!" Jeremy warned sternly once again.
"A small matter?" Isabella's eyes blazed as she looked at Jeremy. "Why don't you look at the injuries on Scarlett?"
At these words, everyone looked at Scarlett and only then noticed the scrapes and cuts on her face, the bandage on her arm, and the bloody mess on her knee - whether from falling or something else.
Isabella couldn't hold back anymore. Her fiery eyes swept over everyone as she said word by word: "These injuries were all Elizabeth's doing."
At this, everyone gasped.
"That's too harsh."
"Is she even human? How could she be so cruel? I can't even look at Elizabeth the same way now."
"I never would have guessed. I used to think Elizabeth was pretty, but turns out she's just a bully who abuses her power."
"This is too much. Scarlett has such a good personality and never gets into conflicts with anyone. But Elizabeth - what a vicious heart!"
"..."
The murmurs reached Elizabeth's ears, and her face grew even uglier.
She clenched her fists tightly.
Hearing people pointing fingers at Elizabeth, Alice's face also showed embarrassment, and she lost interest in continuing to argue with Isabella and the others.
"You keep saying our Elizabeth caused her injuries - you just want compensation, right? You just want to extort money, don't you?"
She stood up, grabbed her bag from the chair, pulled out a stack of ten thousand dollars, and threw it heavily at Isabella's feet. "Is this enough?"
She held her chin high, looking down on everyone. "Not enough? I can give you more."
"You just want money, right?"
Alice took off the gold bracelet from her wrist and threw it at Isabella's feet like she was dismissing a beggar. "Take it. Sell it - it's worth more than your parents make in a year."
Someone with no connections or background didn't even deserve to carry Elizabeth's shoes.
And she dared to make a scene here?
After saying this, Alice grabbed Elizabeth directly.
"Elizabeth, we're leaving."
Just then, a deep voice came from the doorway:
"Leave? Where does Alice think she's going?"
Chase stood at the door in a black suit, his expression ice-cold.
Olivia had called him, asking him to come to Stellar High School, saying Isabella had gotten into a fight and the matter had been taken to her homeroom teacher.
Olivia had planned to come herself, but her car had been rear-ended on the way, and she couldn't make it in time, so she thought of him since his company was close to the school.
Chase was pretty angry when he got the news.
It was Isabella who had insisted on living at school.
And on the very first day, she got into a fight.
What was this about?
But he didn't expect that when he arrived at the office door, he would see this scene - Alice humiliating Isabella with money.
Although he didn't like Isabella either, seeing Alice arrogantly throwing money at Isabella's feet made him feel that he was being humiliated too, along with the entire Taylor Family.
After all, the news that Isabella was the Taylor Family's daughter had already spread online.
Even if he didn't want to admit it, Isabella did represent the Taylor Family to some extent.
Humiliating Isabella was humiliating the Taylor Family.
Chase couldn't control his anger.
