Chapter 49 I Am Isabella's Brother
He looked at Alice with eyes as sharp as blades.
"Alice just said that selling this bracelet would be enough to cover the Taylor Family's expenses for a year. How come I didn't know our Taylor Family had fallen to such a pathetic state?"
Alice froze and looked over.
The man had a handsome but gloomy face. He looked young, but his cold and sharp aura was nothing like an ordinary person's.
Alice felt he looked familiar, but couldn't quite place him for a moment.
Just then, someone in the student group chat commented, "Isn't that Bianca's older brother? What's he doing here?"
Very few people at Stellar High School didn't know Bianca.
Bianca was in the international class, different from regular class students like them.
She was like a princess—not only beautiful but also from a wealthy family, with excellent grades, and tons of guys chasing after her.
More importantly, everyone knew that Bianca had a CEO older brother who was incredibly handsome and totally doted on her. He often came to pick her up personally. Tall and imposing, just standing there, he could easily draw every girl's attention.
Countless female students envied Bianca and wished they had an older brother like Chase.
Hearing others' discussions, Mrs. Nguyen naturally knew who this Bianca was.
Bianca's older brother.
So the person in front of her must be...
She looked shocked, "Mr. Taylor?"
The Taylor Family—that was a wealthy and powerful family!
Not something small families like theirs could compare to.
"Ms. Nguyen." Chase looked at Hannah. He'd reviewed the information in the car and knew she was the homeroom teacher of Isabella's class. "I'm Isabella's brother. My mother's car had a minor accident on the way, so I came to handle Isabella's matter in her place."
Hannah was a bit confused.
She knew Chase.
She often saw him picking up Bianca from the international class.
But wasn't he Bianca's brother? How did he suddenly become Isabella's brother from her class?
Hannah explained the whole situation to him, "Mr. Taylor, this incident started because Elizabeth bullied a female classmate..."
Hannah was still talking, but Alice's face had already turned extremely ugly, her hands trembling uncontrollably.
Because she remembered some news she'd seen trending online a while ago.
It said that the Taylor Family's daughter had been switched at birth, that Bianca wasn't the Taylor Family's biological daughter, and that the Taylor Family's real daughter was someone else.
At the time, she just thought it was quite surprising, but since she didn't really know much about the Taylor Family and had no dealings with such wealthy families, she didn't look into it closely. She even suspected the content was made up by some random people just to grab attention—there was a lot of fake news like that.
But now, a terrifying thought suddenly emerged in her mind.
She couldn't help glancing at Isabella standing in the corner.
Could this girl actually be the Taylor Family's long-lost biological daughter?
Otherwise, why would Chase come here? And personally say he was her brother?
Chase had already heard Hannah's full explanation and glanced coldly at Alice.
Just one look made Alice's heart turn cold, and all her previous arrogance vanished. "Mr. Taylor, it's just a little misunderstanding between girls. I made too big a deal of it."
Alice quickly pulled Elizabeth in front of Isabella. "Hurry up and apologize to Isabella!"
What?
Elizabeth looked completely confused, still not having recovered from this sudden turn of events.
She didn't understand why Bianca's brother from the international class would show up here and claim to be Isabella's brother.
Elizabeth looked at Alice with tears in her eyes, "Mom! I'm the one who got bullied. You said before that you'd stand up for me!"
Alice frowned and tapped her forehead. "Why can't you understand? I'm telling you to apologize to Isabella. Did you hear me or not?"
Elizabeth didn't want to apologize.
She felt humiliated.
So many people were watching.
But she also knew that this person was indeed Bianca's brother, and Bianca was from the Taylor Family. Her mom was making her apologize because she didn't want to offend the Taylor Family.
Elizabeth bit her lip, looked at Isabella with a stiff neck, and said reluctantly, "I'm sorry."
"Why are you apologizing to me?" Isabella looked at her, her voice very calm. "I'm not the one you bullied. You never hit me. If you're going to apologize, go find Scarlett."
Hearing this, Elizabeth froze.
Apologizing to that little bitch Scarlett felt even more humiliating!
She refused.
Just as she was thinking this, Alice grabbed her sleeve and dragged her in front of Scarlett, ordering, "Do as she says. Apologize to Scarlett."
Elizabeth's tears of humiliation were already falling.
She clenched her fists, didn't even look at Scarlett, and said stiffly, "I'm sorry!"
Then quickly turned her head away.
Elizabeth felt her self-respect shattered to pieces.
Alice looked at Chase, "Mr. Taylor, about this matter..."
"Let's just leave it at that." Chase said flatly, "As long as Alice doesn't hold my sister responsible."
"Of course not, it was all our Elizabeth's fault. I'll educate her properly when we get home. We should really thank Isabella for stopping our Elizabeth's reckless behavior and preventing greater harm to other students."
Looking at Alice's smiling face, Elizabeth felt both humiliated and speechless.
Mom, what are you even saying!
Finally, Alice left in a hurry, pulling Elizabeth along.
After Alice left, Chase's eyes swept over Isabella. He wanted to say something, but Isabella didn't even glance at him and strode out of the office.
Chase's face darkened immediately, and he chased after her.
He finally caught up with Isabella at the bottom of the teaching building. Chase demanded coldly, "What's going on?"
"What's going on? Didn't Ms. Nguyen already tell you?"
"I'm talking about that Scarlett. What's the deal with her?" Chase asked. "It wasn't your business, so why did you get involved?"
"They were bullying a classmate right in front of me. I happened to see it, so I helped her out. That's all."
Isabella didn't understand what was worth asking about.
"So your way of helping her was to go up and slap Elizabeth?"
Chase had been holding back, but finally couldn't contain it anymore.
