Chapter 47 Powerless and Statusless, Still Want to Fight Her?
Jeremy froze.
Isabella stopped in her tracks when she saw who had arrived.
Scarlett walked in from outside, calmly removed the electronic watch from her wrist, and placed it on the desk in front of Hannah. "Mr. Wright, my watch has video and audio recording functions. Everything that happened this afternoon was captured."
This wasn't the first time she'd been treated this way by Elizabeth and the others.
She had thought about recording evidence before and telling a teacher or the police.
But she had been too afraid to hand over these recordings.
Just like Aria and Zoey said, she was just someone with no power or influence. If she submitted these recordings, they would probably be intercepted by the Perez Family soon enough.
More importantly, she was afraid that offending Elizabeth would get her expelled from school.
She didn't have a father, and her mom had raised her alone with great difficulty. It wasn't easy for her to attend Stellar High School. Her mom worked so hard for her tuition, for her to have good educational resources, juggling several part-time jobs at once.
So she could only endure it.
She thought that maybe after a while, Elizabeth and the others would get bored and leave her alone, though she had no idea what she'd done wrong...
Earlier in the bathroom, Aria told Zoey that Elizabeth's mom had arrived and Isabella had been called to the office too.
Honestly, she was scared.
If she were smart, she shouldn't risk offending Elizabeth by coming here.
But Isabella was in this situation because of her, and Zoey said Isabella's family was even poorer than hers, in an even harder situation.
She was afraid of being expelled, but wasn't Isabella afraid too? Maybe Isabella's parents had worked hard and struggled to transfer her to this school.
Isabella had helped her, but if she refused to stand up and speak for Isabella, even if she protected herself, she would live with guilt and regret for the rest of her life.
Hannah picked up the watch and clicked on one of the video clips.
Elizabeth, Aria, and Zoey's voices rang out clearly in the office:
"Speak up! What are you wearing? Let me see."
"Aria! Zoey! What are you standing there for? Hurry up and grab that thing from this little bitch!"
"What is this? Disgusting!"
"Scarlett, is your family really that poor? You're protecting a cheap hair clip like your life depends on it. I thought it was some kind of treasure!"
"Her mom works as a cleaner, Elizabeth, what do you expect?"
"Are you crazy? Why are you going through the trash?"
"Where do you think you're running? Did I say you could run?"
The camera kept shaking, and Elizabeth and the others' faces only flashed by briefly, but combined with the audio, it wasn't hard to guess what was happening.
"..."
The office fell silent, and the teachers' expressions looked especially complicated.
Elizabeth and the others' faces grew increasingly ugly.
That bitch Scarlett, how dare she come?
She actually filmed them, actually recorded it!
Did she have a death wish?
Alice froze too.
She had always known Elizabeth had a rather unruly nature, but she thought that as long as there was no evidence, no matter what the victim said, she could pretend nothing had happened.
But she never expected Elizabeth would be stupid enough to get caught, and that girl had actually recorded everything!
Alice didn't know how to react for a moment, feeling like all the things she'd said earlier had turned into slaps across her own face, making her feel embarrassed.
Hannah had always been kind and tolerant with students, but seeing these chaotic recordings, she was truly shocked!
Hannah couldn't control her temper anymore and looked at Elizabeth angrily. "Elizabeth! School is not a place for you to act recklessly! How could you bully our class student like this?"
Hannah was both angry and guilty.
As the homeroom teacher, she had no idea such things were happening behind the scenes. She had completely failed in her duties.
"Mr. Wright." Hannah demanded forcefully, "Elizabeth and others from Class 10 did these things to our class's Scarlett. This seriously violates school rules and they should be disciplined!"
Jeremy was stunned, clearly not expecting the truth to be like this.
Isabella's voice appeared later in the recording. It was clear that Isabella had gotten into a conflict with them only to stop Elizabeth and the others.
Elizabeth's lips trembled, and with red eyes she shouted, "But Isabella shouldn't have hit me either! It's all Scarlett and Isabella's fault!"
They had bullied Scarlett many times before and nothing had happened.
How did it turn out like this this time?
Elizabeth glared hatefully at Isabella, her nails digging into her palms.
And that Scarlett, how dare she stand up against her? Did she not want to stay at this school anymore? Didn't she know her uncle was a leader in the education department?
With just one word from him, he could make Scarlett leave this school!
"Elizabeth! This recording is very clear - you were the one bullying your classmate first!" Hannah looked at her sternly. "And you still have the nerve to say it's Scarlett and Isabella's fault! You have no sense of shame at all!"
"Do you know that your behavior is like a demon's, and could very likely ruin a student's life?"
"Isabella stood up for what was right. How can that be wrong? You're the one who's wrong!"
Hannah couldn't control her emotions, which is why she said so much, because she was also someone with a daughter. If her own daughter were bullied like this at school, she would probably faint from anger.
Elizabeth was reduced to tears by her scolding, tears streaming down her face. "No... I... I didn't..."
How could they say that about her?
She had never been spoken to like this in her entire life.
That damned bitch of a teacher.
"Mom!" Elizabeth threw herself into Alice's arms.
Jeremy glanced at Elizabeth, then at Hannah, somewhat impatiently. "Alright, why are you being so aggressive? Elizabeth is just a child."
Hannah's face darkened. "Mr. Wright, you weren't like this when you were accusing Isabella just now. How come you're so generous now?"
Jeremy was momentarily speechless.
"Ms. Nguyen, even if our Elizabeth was wrong to fight with her classmate, that's no reason for Isabella to beat up our Elizabeth!"
Alice looked arrogantly at the teachers present. "No matter what, let me tell you, Elizabeth is our family's only daughter, and she's always been pampered and raised with care!"
Her tone was tough and sharp. "My daughter was wronged at school, and your school must give me an explanation. Otherwise, whether it's Isabella or you teachers, the Perez Family won't let any of you off!"
So what if there was evidence?
She was Alice - she had nothing to fear.
Besides, Elizabeth had already told her that Scarlett's mom was just a cleaner!
The lowest class of people - did they really think they could go against the Perez Family?
And this Isabella, she looked like she came from a poor family too.
No power, no influence, and they thought they could fight her?
