Chapter 129 Left Gabriel and Ran
"Who told you to use a knife!" Jagger furiously kicked the man who had attacked, sending him flying. "We need him alive, don't you understand?"
The moment Jagger finished speaking, a brick flew from Gabriel's hand and hit him in the head.
Jagger passed out.
"Boss! What happened to you?"
In the chaos, Gabriel grabbed Bianca. "Bianca, we need to run, now."
Bianca was so scared she didn't know what to do. She kept crying as they ran, looking at Gabriel's blood-soaked uniform. "Gabriel, your wound..."
"I'm fine."
Gabriel gritted his teeth and pushed himself to run to a tree. He tore his uniform and wrapped it tightly around his wound.
Blood kept flowing. Gabriel felt his eyelids getting heavier and heavier.
"Bianca, you need to help support me now."
"Okay."
The two of them helped each other move forward.
Gabriel's consciousness grew weaker and weaker. The scene before him gradually became blurry.
Later, Bianca said something in his ear, but he couldn't hear it clearly at all.
"Bianca, I..."
Gabriel completely lost his strength, almost all his weight pressing down on Bianca.
Bianca was practically carrying Gabriel as she walked. Luckily, she saw a road ahead with cars passing by.
"Gabriel, hang in there, we're almost there."
Just then, shouting came from behind.
"Quick! They're up ahead!"
Bianca's heart jumped. She looked back and saw those men had caught up again.
Bianca's face immediately turned pale.
Dragging Gabriel along, walking was already difficult enough, let alone running.
If she could just get through these few hundred meters of woods, she would be safe.
"Gabriel?"
Bianca called out tentatively and found that Gabriel had completely passed out and was unconscious, with no response at all.
She glanced at the people chasing behind her and, without hesitation, dropped Gabriel and ran.
Gabriel's body suddenly hit the ground, blood spilling from his mouth.
He opened his eyes and only saw Bianca's back as she abandoned him and ran away.
——
The air was filled with a dark, damp smell.
Gabriel was woken by pain.
He opened his eyes and looked around.
It was a warehouse.
Filled with junk.
Cockroaches were scurrying around in the corners.
Gabriel closed his eyes. All he could think about was what he saw just before passing out—Bianca's back as she abandoned him and ran.
He clenched his fists, his eyes growing colder and colder.
Bianca.
The sister he once thought was the best.
Actually abandoned him without hesitation at the critical moment.
He tried to get up from the ground but accidentally pulled at his wound.
Gabriel cried out in pain.
It hurt so much.
The wound had been wrapped with fresh gauze. Those people seemed to have rebandaged it and applied medicine. They apparently didn't want him to die.
Gabriel crouched on the ground in agony. The pain from his wound made tears come to his eyes.
Why?
Why did Bianca abandon him?
To protect her, he would risk everything, just because he was her brother and she was his only sister.
But when it came down to life and death, Bianca could abandon him without hesitation, just because... he was a burden?
When she needed him, she called him brother. When she didn't need him, she kicked him aside.
A fire burned in Gabriel's chest. He clenched his fists tightly and punched the ground hard.
He regretted it.
Why had he been so good to Bianca? Bianca wasn't even the Taylor family's biological daughter. He and Bianca had no blood relation at all. He wasn't her brother.
Bianca was ungrateful. He was so seriously injured, yet she just left him behind. If these people hadn't wanted to keep him alive, he would probably be dead by now.
Gabriel was filled with regret.
He had actually targeted Isabella and driven her away for this ungrateful person!
When actually...
Isabella was his real sister.
And he had driven Isabella away for Bianca's sake.
Gabriel was full of remorse. He had made a mistake. He shouldn't have treated Isabella that way.
Gabriel got up from the ground, looked around, and found the warehouse door.
He pounded on the door hard. "Let me out!"
Fortunately, he was still alive. He still had a chance to make things right.
He had to find Isabella!
The warehouse iron door opened.
A black-clothed man wearing a black mask appeared at the door.
Gabriel glared at the man hatefully. "Do you know who I am? I'm the youngest son of the Taylor family! Let me out!"
"Stop making noise!" The man in black threw him a sandwich. "We can't let you out yet. You and that good sister of yours both have to stay here for a while. The master said nobody should ruin our plans!"
"Who is your master?" Gabriel glared angrily at these people. "Why did you kidnap me?"
"Kidnap you?" The man in black laughed. "We didn't want to kidnap you. Who told you to be with that girl?"
Gabriel clenched his fists. "You just said Bianca is here too?"
"Yes, she almost escaped from our hands!"
"What do you want with her?"
"That's none of your business!"
The man in black closed the iron door and prepared to leave.
"Wait!" Gabriel looked at the sandwich in his hand and frowned. "You're just giving me this thing to eat? Get me some fresh food. As long as you don't hurt me, I promise I won't cause trouble."
The man in black sneered. "You're getting picky now. There's only sandwiches, take it or leave it!"
Gabriel pressed his lips together. "Aren't you afraid I'll die in here?"
"If you want to die, go ahead and die."
The man in black left directly.
Gabriel gritted his teeth, sat down, looked at the sandwich in his hand for a moment, then took a bite.
He couldn't die. He had to survive and get out of here.
He owed Isabella. Once he got out, he would find a way to make it up to her.
——
The Anderson Manor.
Maddox sat in a rattan chair, rubbing his jade ring. "That Obsidian Circle girl, still hasn't woken up?"
Jagger shook his head. "No."
A full day had passed since they captured her.
That girl had almost escaped. She abandoned the boy she was with and ran to the roadside to stop a car. Luckily, the car that passed by didn't stop.
"You did very well this time." Maddox smiled with satisfaction. "You only took two people out and captured the captain of the Obsidian Circle's combat team. Truly remarkable."
They had fought with Obsidian Circle people in secret before. They knew something about the Obsidian Circle's capabilities. An ordinary member of a combat team could often take on five opponents at once, let alone a squad captain.
Jagger smiled too. "The Obsidian Circle people aren't so special after all!"
