Chapter 53

Chapter 53
“There is no need for you to take your inheritance right now. They might get to know. Let’s wait till the family is here,” Scarlet said in a low tone, stunning Mrs Cole.
“Family?” she asked, not because she was too nosy but because she felt that there was something wrong.
“Mmmh. My maternal family,” Scarlet said, but she didn’t say anything else. She felt that since the woman had helped them so much and even knew her mother, she must have some information about her mother’s identity.
When Mrs Cole heard that, she was stunned. She recalled her mother once mentioning to her that as long as the siblings found Shanaya, they won’t need to fear anyone else cause she had a powerful background.
She had almost forgotten it; if it weren’t for Scarlet’s words, she would never have recalled.
“That’s fishy. Why didn’t they come in the past while you guys were suffering? They don’t seem like good people,” Angela said with a frown, making Scarlet stunned, and she looked at her with a smile.
“They don’t know that mother died. Aunt hid it from them,” Scarlet said, shocking the two who immediately looked at Sophia.
“Sister instructed me not to,” Sophia said, making Mrs Cole sigh. She was curious as to why the two were now willing to let the family know.
“Scar, is your family that powerful? Would they control your father and those three?” she asked worriedly, as she didn’t want to bring relatives who would be a burden to them.
“More powerful than our family,” Mrs Cole answered, causing everyone to look at her.
Scarlet knew that she was correct, the woman knew her mother’s background just like Mrs Davis. Scarlet wondered what her mother was thinking, letting Mrs White be her godmother, and she knew nothing. However, she didn’t want to think too much about it.
Angela was stunned when she heard that. She tried thinking which family it could be, as her little uncle had already led their family to the top, thus they ranked first in the country. Hearing there was another powerful family, she really couldn’t comprehend what her mother was trying to say.
When they arrived at the club, people were waiting at the entrance. The manager had already received a photo of Scarlet, who had been taking in the party; thus, when Scarlet and her group walked out of the car, she recognized her immediately.
“Miss,” she called her as she walked towards her.
Scarlet stared at her, then at the people behind her.
“The manager?” she asked, though she was already sure of that.
“Yes, my name is Benta. These are the people who work with me. The waitresses and waiters are not included,” the manager introduced herself, making Scarlet nod.
The people behind her were stunned when they heard her words. They had already been told that the club had changed hands and proposed to follow the manager, wanting to see who the new boss but never expected to see a young lady.
“Do we have time to walk around?” Scarlet asked Mrs Cole who was looking at the manager and also at Scarlet, curiously wondering what was happening.
“We can take whatever we came for. We can come here at night,” Sophia said as she knew what her niece wanted.
“Just a glimpse, as it isn’t crowded yet,” Scarlet said as she blinked her eyes. She glanced at Sophia and Mrs Cole.
Angela’s eyes lit up when she heard her words.
“Yes, there is time,” she said as she dragged Scarlet in before the two women understood what was happening.
“She has always wanted to come here, but we forbade her. I am sure she is so excited and did that,” Mrs Cole told Sophia, who smiled helplessly.
“They can be coming. It's ours,” Sophia said, shocking Mrs Cole.
“Miss Singh,” the manager said as she had also been told of the latter’s identity. She had been told that the woman was Scarlet’s aunt and that the club ownership might be under her name.
“Just follow those two in case Scarlet has any questions. We are okay,” Sophia said to the manager, who nodded her head.
“So can be coming here also in the name of helping you look at the business, right? Every time you come here, please bring me along. You don’t know how that man of mine is so overprotective,” Mrs Cole said as she was also happy.
Sophia was stunned but still shook her head.
Scarlet walked around, nodding her head while shaking it. Angela had been trying to understand her, but when she failed to, she gave up on it.
Scarlet took her phone, taking pictures of everywhere. Many of the waiters and waitresses frowned, wanting to say something to her, but when they saw that she was being followed by the executive, they pretended not to see anything.
“The deco is alright, but we can improve it. I will work on it tonight, then send someone to talk to you about it. Maybe we will have to close it…” Scarlet said, then remained silent.
If she closed it, where was she going to get money? She looked around, then came up with an idea.
“No need to close it. That can’t do,” she said, stunning the manager who had been preparing herself to say something.
“Anyways, I will know what to do. If it has to be closed, maybe just a week,” Scarlet said, making the manager look at her.
“Miss, there is a week-long national holiday. Though we rarely go for holidays, maybe we can use that week to renovate the club, give the employees the holiday,” the manager said, stunning Scarlet.
She wanted to refuse, claiming that during the holiday, it's when the club earns the most, but when she recalled that she wanted it to be a high-end club where only wealthy families came, she remained silent. After all, those people never go on holiday, and the youngsters are always on a break. It won’t make so much difference; she might as well do as she was told.
“The earnings for the month?” she asked, and the manager looked at Angela, who was looking around.
“Why don’t you guys continue talking? I will go find mom and aunty?” Angela asked when she noticed the manager’s gaze. Through the tour, she had learned that this club was now owned by Scarlet. She was so happy for her and at the same time for herself for being a genius in making such a friend. How can her family now refuse to let her come when it was Scarlet’s territory?
“The earnings have been stable at a hundred million a week. Most business people come here with their partners or while looking for collaborators. They end up using more than tens of millions,” the manager explained, stunning Scarlet. She had guessed that the profit must be good, but not this good.
“Is this just the profit or the total earnings?” Scarlet asked, and the manager shook her head.
“We restock every week, so the money is just the profit,” the manager said, and Scarlet nodded in understanding.
“Have the employees been paid?” she asked.
“Yes. About the time for the renovation, it will be the last week of next month. I wanted to talk to you about it. Will they be paid for that week or not, cause they won’t be at work?” the manager asked, making Scarlet frown, but she understood who the latter was asking about.
“No, pay them. Give each an extra five hundred. How many workers work here?” she asked.
“We have about a hundred. Forty waiters and waitresses. The band is ten. Those working in the office are ten, twenty male escorts, twenty female escorts,” the manager said, making Scarlet frown as she was displeased.
“There should be no prostitution here. Fire those who need to be fired or put them in our services. There can be strippers or something, work on it, but no prostitution,” she said, making the manager chuckle.
“Miss, you misunderstood. The escorts often accompany the businesspeople who come here. They serve them, pouring drinkings, dancing as the waiters and waitresses serve the other areas. We aren’t involved in prostitution,” she said, and Scarlet let a sigh of relief.
“Okay, give them the five hundred, that will be five hundred thousand, deduct it, then transfer the rest to me,” Scarlet said. “We can give them as this month’s bonus. Next month, their wages for that holiday week, we can give them as that month’s bonus.”
The manager nodded, but she was inwardly thinking that the new boss was too kind. There has never been anything like bonuses; the workers received tips.
“The money is in this card,” the manager said, making Scarlet look at it.
“I will transfer the five thousand to the club business account. Give it to me,” Scarlet said, stunning the manager as she was handing the card to prove to Scarlet that everything had been taken care of and there was no need for a bonus.
“Benta, in this life, people need to feel appreciated for their good work. I am just busy today, so we can’t talk too much, but I will be back tomorrow. We will be changing some rules. The bonus is for the employees to feel appreciated. They work for us, but outside, many people look down on them. Do you now understand what I am trying to say?” Scarlet asked.
