Chapter 110
Scarlet looked at the people wearing uniforms and various industries written on different houses and yawned. She suddenly felt tired.
The place was huge. Where was she going to start? Seeing her actions, Shane's eyes shone in amusement as he found it hard to believe that she was the one who had been working so hard in Country A.
“Aren’t you going to choose your own people?” he asked her.
Scarlet averted her gaze from the houses and looked at him. “I trust brother. He can choose for me,” she said before walking away, making Arthur chuckle.
“Well, she is more of a spoilt brat than Nova,” Arthur stated, but Shane remained silent, but deep down, he agreed with his words.
As long as they were around Scarlet, she would opt just to give ideas and let them carry them, and in return, she would lie down and watch them work. For once, he felt that them going back to Country A was the right choice.
When Scarlet was walking around, she saw a building written ‘mines,’ and her eyes lit up when she recalled the sudden mission she had given her grandfather.
She added her pace and walked towards it.
“Where is she going?” Cate asked, and the others stared at her.
“The mining industry,” Arthur said, then walked in that direction.
Shane frowned but still walked forward. He wanted to see what she was up to cause only the family was into salt mines. However, in the family school, they offered all industries and let the students choose what they were interested in.
“Since your family is in it, you can select someone who is familiar with the gemstone mining there. You will leave all that work to him, and he will only be responsible for bringing the gemstones to you,” he told his wife, who was beside her.
Cate was stunned and stared at the building with anticipation.
“Do you think Scarlet has gone there cause of me?” she asked.
“No,” Sophia replied coldly, interrupting Shane, who had been about to answer her. Sophia knew what Scarlet was looking for, but she was too lazy to explain to the others.
“Oh. Can they predict which stones have gemstones?” Cate asked Shane.
“I don’t know. However, they have participated in various competitions and events, then sold what they got cause the family wasn’t really in that department. You can check it out later,” he said, and Cate nodded in understanding.
“Scar, what are you looking for?” Arthur asked when he saw her standing at the entrance with a frown on her face.
“Oil mining,” Scarlet stated, stunning both Arthur and Shawn.
“We aren’t in that industry,” Shane said coldly as he thought that Scarlet was interested in that industry cause of Mr William. He didn’t understand why the latter liked the man.
“Not yet, but we will,” Scarlet stated before walking away when she realized that they weren’t going to help her find the right person.
“She already discussed it with Dad in the morning. There is news of oil in Country C, so she suggested that we mine it and sell it to the oil companies,” Sophia explained as she felt a headache seeing Scarlet's actions. Couldn’t she explain something instead of telling them little and leaving her to do all the speaking? She hated speaking!
“Grandpa agreed?” Arthur asked in surprise.
“I won’t be shocked if he does. Cause if this pie falls on the Williams, they will be unstoppable, and it will take twenty more years to be on par with them,” Shane said after analyzing what was happening.
“Where there is oil, there is always salt, so we will be hitting two birds with one stone,” Sophia said, making Arthur’s eyes light up.
However, when he recalled that there weren’t enough people in the family interested in that industry, he felt it was a pity cause it might fall into the elders' hands to manage.
“She suggested that Liam take over that business. I think she is looking for people to help Liam in the future,” Sophia stated when she saw his expression changing, then left.
“If we really get to oil, who will we sell to?” Arthur asked with a frown.
Shane sneered when he asked that thought and looked at his sister, who was jumping up and down. He suddenly felt jealous. He wished that he been locked Scarlet in Country A so she might never come here and meet that man cause it seemed that she cared a lot for that man. She wasn’t thinking about the family, but also that man.
“Who do you think she will suggest?” he asked coldly, making Arthur look at him in surprise as he couldn’t understand why he seemed to be angry.
He glanced at Scarlet, who Shane was looking coldly, and recalled yesterday’s scene of Scarlet talking to Mr William with a smile, and shuddered. He suddenly felt pity for Scarlet as he knew that Shane would do something crazy for those two to never meet. However, he also got his answer.
“We might as well make them bleed when that time comes,” Arthur said, causing the cold expression and aura on Shane vanish, and he smirked evilly.
“Thanks for reminding me, brother. Leave that negotiation to me in the future,” he said, then walked away.
Cate looked and listened to the conversation, knowing that her guesses were correct. She stared at his little sister and pursed her lips. She found it hard to believe it.
Arthur saw her actions and frowned. He wanted to speak, but then decided against it. He would better talk to Shane so that he would take to his wife.
“What are you really looking for?” Sophia asked when she reached Scarlet, who was just walking.
“People,” she stated. She remembered that in her previous life, there was a group that help Mr William to get the mine and mine the oil successfully cause the area was large and more troublesome than any oil mine they had come across.
The news stated that they were from one of the wealthy families in America. She remembered their names cause she had seen them on TV but never saw their faces. She was looking for names on the whiteboards but didn’t find them, feeling disappointed.
“Why are you looking for names? Come, let me take you to the oil mining class,” Arthur said when he reached them, as he was way more familiar with the place. He had brought his siblings here every time to choose their own people.
Scarlet didn’t say anything, just stared at him as if telling him to start walking.
Arthur pinched his nose, thinking that Scarlet was way harder to get along with than he had anticipated. He wondered how she got to know Liam and even suggested to him cause she seemed someone who didn’t care about what was going on around her.
They walked towards the inner part of the building, and they heard some noises.
“I initially planned to venture into the countries across the oceans, but with the sudden mourning period, I guess we will have to wait,” they heard a man speaking when they reached the door.
Arthur opened the door, startling the people inside.
When the men saw him, they were stunned as they wondered why the family heir was in their department, and the family didn’t venture in that. Most of their friends had warned them when they chose the industry, but they were ambitious, thinking that oil brings a lot of money.
In the previous years, they had indeed found some oil mines, but before they reacted to it, it was already sold. This time, the team leader wanted to go make a deal with Mr William. If they found any mines, they would introduce them to him, and he would pay them something. That way, they might start working outside.
The school rules didn’t allow anyone to leave the school premises if he or she wasn’t chosen or at least had a job outside. However, even after leaving and working for other families, they still belonged to the Singh family, and if the family needed them, they had to rush back. That was the difference between those who had been sponsored by Shanaya and the family outside and those chosen and brought into the family school.
“Eldest young master, fourth young master, miss, second young miss,” the team leader greeted them, but since he didn’t know Cate’s identity, he didn’t mention her.
“My wife,” Shane said coldly when he heard the greetings.
His words stunned everyone, even Scarlet and their group, as they never expected him to do such a thing. Cate felt her blood boil. She knew the man didn’t love her, so he might not care about how she was treated outside, but it seemed that she was wrong; he really cared.
“Sorry, fourth madam,” the man said.
“It’s okay,” Cate answered as she understood that it wasn’t the man’s fault. Scarlet looked just like her mother, so it wasn’t hard to guess who she was. As for Sophia, she was close to Scarlet, who knew that Scarlet loved and depended on her dear aunt, Sophia.
“You are the ones in the oil mining?” Shane asked as he stared at the group of seven men.
“Yes, fourth young master,” the man replied.
“Your names,” Scarlet asked as she stared at the team leader, then glanced at the others. When she saw the seven men, she felt that she might have been mistaken, as there were only five men in her past life. However, she still wanted to confirm that it wasn't them; there wasn't any harm in that.
