Chapter 111
Everyone stared at her as they didn’t understand why she wanted to know their names, but Arthur stared at the team leader, waiting for him to answer him.
The team leader nodded his head and started his team off. “Daniel Singh.”
Every person in the family school was an orphan, so after they were taken in by the family, they all changed their surnames to Singh. Only those who performed brightly could request to take back their surnames after they were recruited by different masters or mistresses. Nonetheless, it was a rare finding to have such a case.
The others also said their names.
“No, your surnames,” Scarlet said with a frown. That time, there wasn’t a Singh in the news. If there was, was there any need for her to go through all these? However, their first names were indeed familiar. She wanted to confirm with their surnames.
“Daniel Yue,” the team leader replied, and the others followed. Scarlet nodded her head and stared at them for a while before looking at the other two men whose names she didn’t recognize their names. She was puzzled as to what had happened to them in the future, but there wasn’t anyone who could tell her cause she was the only person reborn.
Shane stared at his sister and frowned. He wondered why she seemed to be familiar with those names.
“You know them?” he asked them as he couldn’t hold back his curiosity.
“It isn’t the first time they discovered oil mines, right?” Scarlet shot the question back to the team leader, who was puzzled.
“Yes, we have discovered oil mines in the past, too,” he answered.
“I heard of them somewhere,” Scarlet said, not bothered to explain.
“For you to learn this, you can also look for salt mines, right?” Scarlet asked as she stared at them. Still, there was never a discovery on salt mine in her previous life; did these people just focus on oil?
“We can, however, since there are a lot of people in that sector here, we just focus on oil mines,” the team leader replied.
“So if you discovered a salt mine, then you won’t report it to the family cause it isn’t your work?” she asked coldly. She had a hunch that the man in front of her was the reason for the disappearance of his team members, and it had something to do with the salt mine.
The team leader trembled as sweat covered his forehead, and he wondered why the young lady was so hard.
“We aren’t in…” he started saying, but Scarlet held her hand to stop him.
“Everywhere oil is mine, there must be a discovery of salt, or do you think that the family has been wasting money educating you and facilitating all your trips, huh?” Scarlet said coldly, stunning everyone.
Shane stared at his sister, then stared at the man who was already trembling, knowing that the group must have discovered something, but remained silent, thinking that even if they reported it, the work would fall into the hands of the salt miners. If this wasn’t selfishness and greed, then what was it?
“Eldest brother, calculate all the money these people have used throughout the years; they should pay before getting out of the family,” Scarlet said coldly.
In her past life, why did the five of them say names with their surnames instead of the Singhs? Didn’t that mean that they didn’t want to be associated with them? She had walked in with hopes of recruiting a group of helpers, but she didn’t want such people.
“You and you, come with me; the rest will stay here. After the money is calculated and the money the family should have earned from the salt mines, you can think of a way to pay all,” Scarlet said coldly.
“No, you can’t do it,” one of the men shouted at he looked at Scarlet with pleading eyes.
“It wasn’t our fault. He is the leader, and he is the one who always makes all the decisions,” another said while trembling.
“A leader who was chosen by the family or chose himself?” Scarlet asked coldly. “What would have happened if you reported it to the family? Would he have killed you, or would you have been awarded?”
“He said that if we reported it, we won’t receive anything. In the past, we were more than twenty people, those who opposed him and wanted to report him, something would happen to them,” another said, startling Scarlet and her group.
“Is it true?” Shane asked one of the men Scarlet had pointed wanting to recruit. He felt that she trusted those two guys.
“Yes, my brother was one of them,” the man replied, then lowered his head, feeling ashamed as he understood that they had betrayed the family. What awaited them was just death.
“Why not take them in apart from him?” Arthur asked, and Scarlet stared at him coldly.
“So that in the future they bite us back?” Scarlet asked coldly.
“Just arrest them and keep them in the family prison; we will deal with the latter. No, just the team leader and the assistant, the others can leave the family immediately, but every month, someone will go to collect money from them to pay what they owe the family,” Scarlet said coldly.
She wasn’t going to be softhearted.
“When you leave, go to that man from the Williams family. Tell him to come and save me, and I will work for him in return,” the team leader said when the guards rushed in to take him down.
Everyone halted when they heard his words.
“Brother, can you call Uncle Williams for me?” Scarlet said with a smirk as she glanced at Shane, then at Daniel.
How could Shane not have that man’s number? However, she wasn’t really sure, she was betting on it cause there was no way her careful brother didn’t have his enemy’s number.
Shane stared at her coldly but still did as told. That was the perk of having a group of top hackers who can get you anything you need.
“Hello,” Mr William answered with a frown as he didn’t recognize the number. This was his private number; only his family members and assistant had it, so he thought that it was someone from his family calling him.
He immediately the call was connected, Shane handed it to Scarlet, who took it and pressed on speaker as she didn’t want her brother to get angrier than he currently was.
“Uncle William,” she called out in a serious tone, stunning the man.
“Scarlet?” he asked, full of doubts, where did the little girl get his number? Also, why did she speak to him in that tone as if he had made a grave mistake?
“It’s me,” Scarlet replied as she stared at the team leader, who was trembling.
He had once seen and heard the man, so he recognized his voice immediately. He stared at Scarlet, then glanced at Arthur and the others, who didn’t seem surprised, and screamed in his heart. ‘Wasn’t it said that the Singhs were afraid of the Williams family and didn’t have any deals with him? How then did they have his number and seem so familiar with each other?’
“What is it, little girl?” he asked in a serious tone as he understood that there must be a reason she had called him. As for where she had gotten his number, they could deal with it later on.
“Well, we have caught a traitor in our family school. The oil mining department,” Scarlet said with a sneer. “They have discovered some oil mines in the past. When being apprehended, he told one of his colleagues to reach out to someone from your family.”
Mr William was stunned. He also knew that the Singhs never wanted any interactions with him and his family. He could understand what the Singhs were feeling, knowing that there was someone among them who had dealings with the Singhs.
Though Scarlet didn’t mention it, he knew that they must have found it fishy. After all, where there is oil, there must be oil; it was a known logic, so why would the man find oil mines and not tell the family? His eyes darkened as he knew that the Singhs at this time thought that he was the one behind everything.
“What is the name of the person?” he asked in a serious tone as he knew that if he didn’t deal with this well, the little girl might end up hating him, and the thought of it pierced his heart.
Scarlet stared at Daniel, waiting for him to reply. At this time, the man had realized that he had messed up big. If that guy knew, he might even be killed, so it was better to say the name and be protected.
“Declan,” he replied, but in a soft voice. However, everyone heard it, even Mr William on the other side.
“I will give you an answer on everything in an hour,” Mr William answered, and Scarlet sneered.
“I am so sure of the dealings, uncle. You are a good man, right?” Scarlet asked. Now that it had gotten to this point, how could she let the Williams so easily? Not to mention the fact that her mother had run away cause of them, to her, they were indirectly responsible for her mother’s death!
“What do you want?” Mr William asked. Feeling a sharp pain in his heart as he detected hatred in the latter’s voice finding hard to believe the sweet little girl he had talked to yesterday hated him.
