Chapter 23 Showdown
Sebastian went still for a moment, pondering how to proceed, but then remembered something about his conversation with her.
He was shaking his head, nah, now is not the time yet. He went to Mira's side, and placed a hand on her head, erasing his existence from her head. Light blue flames appeared in his hand and the process was done in a few minutes. From now on, Mira will not remember him anymore. Their conversation was gone from her memory. Her life will proceed how she wishes it to be.
"One day I will return to restore your memories and collect my rewards," he whispered in her ears.
Time to go!
With a smirk on his face, he disappeared from the room in the blink of an eye.
Hours went by.
Night turned into day. Another day has just begun.
Luna Rosie woke up, gasping for breath. She had a nightmare about her husband getting killed in the war. She quickly grabbed her phone and sent him a message asking about his condition. He responded right away, assuring her that he was fine. She was relieved because he was not in harm's way.
Mira opened her eyes and saw her companion's flustered face. "What happened?" she asked worriedly.
"I had a nightmare. I dreamed of my husband being killed in the war," Luna Rosie replied with a heavy sigh.
"But he is fine right?" Mira asked.
"Yeah, my husband is fine. He's not wounded and doing fine," Luna Rosie answered.
"Thank God, my husband is safe!" Mira said in relief.
Luna Rosie glared at her. "Correction, he is my husband not yours!"
Mira shrugged. "Fine. He is your husband," she said, rolling her eyes, caressing her baby bump. She got up from the bed. "Ugh, being pregnant is very hard! My tummy is so heavy," she whined.
Luna Rosie looked at the shameless woman who had stolen her body, rage flashing in her eyes. She wanted to throttle her and kick her out of the room. She can do so many evil things to this woman in her mind but in reality she can't bring herself to hurt her own body and her unborn child.
She was in a difficult situation. GRRR!
"Are you complaining?" Luna Rosie asked.
Mira raised a brow. "Huh? I'm not. I'm just telling you the truth. Your stomach is heavy."
Luna Rosie gnashed her teeth in anger. "If you are very tired of my pregnancy, then return my body to me!" she demanded.
Mira heaved a sigh. "I wish I knew how to return this body of yours so you stop killing me with your mean words and insults," she said wistfully.
Luna Rosie snarled. "The moment our souls switched to our original bodies—you are so dead!"
Mira breathes deeply. "Okay as you say so," she replied and got off the bed, going to the bathroom to answer the call of nature.
After coming out of the bathroom, Mira returned to the bed to rest again. She felt dizzy.
Luna Rosie raised a brow. "Huh? Why are you resting again? You just woke up. You lazy fat ass pig. Go downstairs and get my breakfast!" she ordered.
Mira looked at her. Her brows knitted in confusion. "Why are you grumpy again so early in the morning? Can you please calm down? I'm not feeling well this morning so be kind to me and to our baby growing in my tummy," she pleaded, annoyed that the grumpy woman is acting up again when all she wants is to lie down and rest a bit longer.
Luna Rosie glared at her. "You are so weak! Leave my body now!" she ordered vehemently.
Mira shut her eyes, ignoring the bitch's whining, trying to keep herself calm.
"I'm hungry. I want a delicious breakfast. Go to the kitchen and instruct the cook to cook my favorite food for breakfast. Go now!" Luna Rosie commands like the royalty that she is. She hated seeing the servant lying on her bed, wearing her dress and inhabiting her body, while she was wearing her ugly face and having to wear the veil all the time.
Grrrr. She hates her current life so much!
She can't wait to return to her body and punish Mira severely.
Mira rolled her eyes. "Stop ordering me around. You are wasting your time ranting and whining all the time. Why don't you just go downstairs and go to the kitchen and do it yourself? If you are that hungry, do as you please. We know very well that this time you are the servant and I'm the real Luna Rosie in the eyes of many. That is why you should act like a servant. Stop harassing me," she said in defiance.
"How dare you!" Luna Rosie yelled indignantly. "You have the courage to defy me now? Have you forgotten who you truly are? Body snatcher! Leave my room now! I hate seeing your face in my room. Leaveeee!" She ordered menacingly, her face livid with anger.
Damn! Mira groaned. This woman is truly annoying. She can't stay in the room with Luna Rosie's irritating presence. What is she going to do?
The only place she could stay in peace is outside the room.
Inside the room, Luna Rosie will keep insulting her and berating her. Outside, the moody bitch can't insult her because people will notice her bad attitude and she can't afford the risk of being found out by the Luna Queen and getting punished for disrespecting Alpha Gideon's wife.
Ah, she knows what to do!
She smiled and got up from the bed. Since the bitch wants her out of the room, then she will stay in the living room and watch TV there. Or she could stay in the garden, sitting on the sofa in the gazebo while admiring the blooming flowers. Perfect escape!
She looked at Luna Rosie and said, "Fine. You can have the room to yourself! Enjoy your solitude your highness!" She marched towards the door.
Luna Rosie looked at Mira suspiciously, frowning at her sudden change of attitude. "Where are you going? Are you going to report me to the Luna Queen?" she asked anxiously, knowing that the royal family will easily believe Mira's claim and she will become the hostile servant who bullied the royalty. She was scared of being kicked out of the mansion without having the chance to tell her husband the truth yet.
Mira looked at her, smirking. "Yes, I will tell the Luna Queen that you bullied me and you need to be punished. I will request another maid as your replacement. You are so grumpy and noisy, you are destroying my eardrums with your insult. I will tell the Luna Queen to lock you up in the dungeon to be eaten by rats!" she said wickedly and left the room.
Luna Rosie's jaw dropped to the floor. Damn that annoying servant. She was growing bones now and openly defying her. So annoying!
What is she going to do?
She began pacing back and forth in the middle of the room, hesitating to go after her. Will Mira report her to the Luna Queen? Or maybe Mira was just bluffing in retaliation?
But what if that damn servant went straight to the Luna Queen and reported her? What if?
No that can't be! She had to stop Mira.
She will face severe punishment for bullying a pregnant woman. Panicking, Luna Rosie rushed to the door and exited the room, heading downstairs to find where Mira is. She nearly fell on the stairs due to her panic.
Dammit, she cursed the annoying servant for making her anxious and nervous.
When she arrived in the kitchen Mira was not there. She rushed into the dining room. Huge relief washed over her when she found her eating alone in the dining room, looking like a fat pig.
Mira grinned at her. "Are you afraid I will report you?" she asked calmly, putting a slice of bacon in her mouth.
Luna Rosie lowered herself into the chair beside her. "Shhh! Lower your voice!" she said, looking hungrily at the palatable dishes on the table. She was about to reach for the spoon and fork but Mira stopped her.
"No, you can't eat here! The royal family will come down soon and they would be appalled to see a servant eating in the dining room. You don't want to be scolded and punished do you?" Mira smirked. "Are you hungry? If yes, go to the kitchen and eat there," she said cheekily.
Furious, Luna Rosie stood up and glared at her. "You will pay for this!" she said, gritting her teeth in anger, her hands forming into a fist at her sides.
Mira sighed heavily. "Why are you mad again? I'm just saving your poor ass. Don't act high and mighty because your husband is not home yet. No one will save you, so relax and give me a break. Leave me alone, please?" She grinned in amusement as she continued munching on her delicious breakfast, ignoring the bitch completely as if she didn't exist in the room.
The defeated look in Luna Rosie's eyes gave Mira instant happiness. Revenge accomplished. This bitchy woman is getting too far. She has to put her in her place. She watched with deep satisfaction when the bitch left the dining room.
She continued eating to her heart's content. She can only eat properly if the royal family is not yet in the room. So she had to eat fast!
Outside the dining room, Luna Rosie's nostrils were flaring in anger. That annoying servant enjoys her discomfort. Mira won today! Later when they return to her room, she will bombard her with insults!
Stomach grumbling in hunger, Luna Rosie walk to the kitchen to get some breakfast. She was grateful for the veil on her face, hiding her angry face. While eating in the kitchen she was busy devising ways on how to torture Mira emotionally and psychologically.
Grrrr. That body snatcher servant deserves to be punished for turning her life upside down!
