Chapter 24 In Your Dreams
After eating breakfast Mira returned to the room and as expected, Luna Rosie was already waiting for her, her eyes blazing with fury.
Just one glance Mira already knew what was waiting for her. She released a deep sigh. “Are you still mad at me?”
“What do you think?” Luna Rosie replied angrily. “I hate the way you talked to me today. You threatened me? You want to report me to the Luna Queen? Are you crazy? Are you out of your mind?”
Mira smirked. “For your information that idea originated from you. I decided to use it against you. That is Karma back to you in full circle. So next time, think twice about bullying me. OK?”
Fuming in anger, Luna Rosie throws her veil onto the floor and shoots Mira a murderous look. “How dare you?”
Before Mira could react, Luna Rosie moved at lightning speed, grabbing Mira’s hair in full force. “You stupid servant! I will teach you a lesson today. Don’t you dare talk to me again as if I am your servant! I won’t tolerate your insults!” She hissed to her face.
Mira winced in pain as Luna Rosie tightened her hold on her hair, pulling it painfully. She felt like her hair was about to be uprooted from her scalp. “Ouch, it hurts so badly. Please let go of my hair!” she begged in a terrified tone.
“So it hurts, eh?” Luna Rosie mocked her, grinning like a lunatic, happy to see the pain and panic in Mira’s eyes. She can’t inflict serious harm on her own body because the bruises would be obvious to the royal family. But hurting the annoying servant by using her hair proves to be effective. Pulling one's hair is painful leaving no evidence of physical torture.
“Let go of my hair! Stop hurting me!” Mira said in despair. Tears filled her eyes. She was desperately trying to remove Luna Rosie’s fingers from her hair because she couldn't bear the pain anymore.
“Are you shocked?” Luna Rosie laughed maniacally. “I finally know now where to hurt you. Do you think I will hesitate to hit you? I just did it and it felt so satisfying. Enjoy the pain. This is what you got for being an annoying piece of shit!” she said, pulling Mira’s hair even harder.
“Please stop! If you don’t stop I will scream for help and they will rush here and catch you hurting me on the spot. You already know what will happen afterwards," Mira said in a final warning.
“Do you think you can scare me? Dream on!” Luna Rosie laughed, enjoying Mira’s pain. She was about to pinch Mira’s side but her phone rang suddenly. She had no choice but to let go of Mira’s hair and check on the caller.
Mira quickly ran to the other side of the bed, fixing her hair, massaging her injured scalp, and glaring angrily at the evil bitch who had hurt her.
Luna Rosie was no longer scowling in anger. She smiled happily, signaling Mira to come.
Mira refused to follow her orders. “After you hurt me? No way!”
“My husband wants to talk to you and see you on a video chat. You don’t want to talk to him? You want me to turn off the phone?” Luna Rosie asked.
Mira was still hesitating…
“Hurry up! My husband is about to go to war. It might be the last time you will be able to see each other!” Luna Rosie snapped. After realizing that Mira was afraid to come to her, fearing she would harm her again, she put the phone on the bed. “Come and get the phone. I won’t hurt you anymore,” she assured her.
Mira saw Luna Rosie moving toward the window. She picked up the phone and finally answered the call. “My love, I’m sorry for not answering your calls right away,” she apologised profusely.
“My love, it’s okay. How are you today?” Alpha Gideon asked.
“I’m fine, how about you? How is the war going?” she asked.
“My brothers and I are doing great. I’m positive we will be able to defeat our enemies soon. Maybe next week we can finally return home victorious. So wait for me, OK?” he said softly.
“Yes, I will wait for you. I miss you so much!” Mira said misty-eyed, glancing fearfully at Luna Rosie’s back. She knew the mean bitch was listening to her conversation with Alpha Gideon.
“I miss you too, my love. How is our baby in your tummy?” he asked.
“The baby is fine. We're both fine. I’m drinking milk and taking vitamins for our baby. Please take care of yourself,” Mira said affectionately. Tears shimmered in her eyes.
“That’s good to hear. I love you. See you soon,” he said lovingly.
“I love you so much. See you soon!” Mira responded in a tone filled with affection.
“Bye my love. My brothers and I are going to haunt the rogues hiding in the forest. Bye, I will text you later after we come back,” Alpha Gideon said.
“Bye, stay vigilant and be extra careful in the forest because the enemy are dangerous. Take care of yourself,” she responded anxiously, fearing for his safety.
“Yes, I will. Gotta go, bye my love. I will call you later.” Alpha Gideon ended their conversation.
Mira put the phone down on the bed and said, “I’m done talking to your husband.”
Luna Rosie turned around and looked at her, looking pissed. “You told my husband that you missed him and that you loved him? How romantic!” She sneered, her nostrils flaring in anger.
“What do you expect me to tell him? In his eyes I’m his wife,” Mira said. She took a deep breath, mentally preparing herself for another round of attacks.
Luna Rosie picked up her phone, then looked at Mira. Her expression was hardened with anger. “I will let it go this time. Don’t worry, I won’t hurt you anymore. I already got my revenge. But I warn you, if you annoy me again, I won’t hesitate to pull your hair again, and next time it will be much more painful. So stop being annoying and arrogant. Know your place. Don’t act like you are above me. Do you understand?”
“I’m not acting arrogantly. It’s only your perception. You always misunderstand me because you hate me so much. You are so mean to me, you are unfair to me!” Mira argued fiercely. She couldn't be silenced anymore.
Luna Rosie snorted. “What do you expect? You want me to praise you for stealing my body and life? Is that what you want? You are stupid if you think I’m happy with what’s going on in my life. Don’t forget that you are the reason why I’m feeling miserable right now. This is all your fault!” she yelled, her eyes spitting with venom.
Mira sighed. “Fine, it’s my fault. Enough already! I’m so fucking tired of your whining. You sound like a broken record, always playing on repeat, so damn irritating,” she said and moved to the door. “I’m going to the garden. Don’t follow me there. Because if you do, I might be tempted to do the unthinkable. Don’t push my limits!" She warned and left the room.
Luna Rosie was left alone in the room seething in anger. How dare she?
That arrogant servant was really testing her patience. But she knew better. Mira acted brave outside but here in the room, she was shaking in fear. She can only torture Mira inside this room because this is her territory. But if she goes outside she must act as Mira the servant. She should be careful about her actions. One false move on her part and she will end up in a rat-infested dungeon.
Should she follow Mira into the garden? If she doesn't follow her, what will the other servants think of her? They might be wondering why she doesn't follow her mistress anywhere?
She picked up the veil from the floor and put it on her face.
She released a deep sigh.
She had no choice. She needs to perform her job as Mira the servant and follow the fake Luna Rosie anywhere in the mansion and serve her to the best of her ability. So damn annoying!
She closed her eyes for a few seconds, suppressing her Luna Rosie attitude. When she finally opened her eyes she was already projecting herself as Mira the servant.
She left the room and headed to the garden. When she arrived at the gazebo, Mira was lying comfortably on the sofa, which was also her favorite place in the garden and now occupied by the fake Luna Rosie.
She closed the distance between them. “Luna, would you like me to go to the kitchen and bring you some snacks?” she offered politely.
“Drop the act!” Mira snapped, rolling her eyes.
Luna Rosie let it slide. “How about water?”
Mira smirked. Outside the room, she's royalty and Luna Rosie is her obedient servant. From now on she should spend more time outside, taking advantage of their situation so she can get the upper hand.
She looks at Luna Rosie. A brilliant idea popped up in her head. Pay back time!
“Ouch, my feet are aching right now. I want you to give me a foot massage so I will feel better,” she ordered, smiling wickedly.
Luna Rosie raised a brow. She scanned the garden, grateful no one was near them. She looked at Mira with contempt flashing in her eyes. “In your dreams, your highness. Don’t be lazy. You have two hands. Just massage your feet if you want to feel better! Lazy pig!” She sneered, lowering herself to the chair, ignoring the annoying servant. She shifted her attention to the roses lining up near the gazebo.
A few minutes later, the Luna Queen arrived in the garden, heading toward the gazebo.
Luna Rosie saw the Queen. She quickly stood up at attention and bowed her head. "Greetings, Luna Queen Mother..."
