Chapter 106 Save Her Life?
Alpha Gideon entered the room and ordered Lena to stay outside. He sat on the chair beside the bed, staring at his wife’s face, sighing heavily. He needs to have a heart-to-heart talk with his wife after she wakes up.
In his mind he was already practicing how to beg Mira so she would save his wife. If Mira didn't agree to the soul swap, he would lose his wife forever. But he had high hopes that he could convince her to do it because Mira still has deep feelings of affection for him. He could feel it the last time they made love.
It would be easy to convince her. He doesn't want to force Mira, but he has no choice. He doesn't want to lose his beloved Rosie, not if he can help it.
He begins composing a heartfelt message for Mira on his phone, begging her to save his wife before it's too late.
One hour later.
Luna Rosie stirred in her sleep and opened her eyes. “My love, have I slept for too long?” she asked.
"Not for that long. More than an hour,” he responded, holding her hand gently. “I have something important to tell you…”
“What is it?” she asked in a tired voice, devoid of hope.
He took a deep breath. “Do you still remember the shaman? Landorr Ferqen?”
She looked at him and raised a brow. “Yes, I still remember him. Why did you mention him?”
“I’m desperate to find ways to help you, so I contacted him and told him about your situation. He told me that if you and Mira agree to a soul swap, your body won’t die. The cancer in your body will go into remission and your soul will transfer to Mira and vice versa. If you both agree, he will come to the mansion to perform a soul swap. Now I’m asking you, are you willing to swap souls with Mira?” he asked, observing her face.
Luna Rosie laughed bitterly. So it turns out there is a way to save herself and she will not die but she has to do a soul swap with Mira again? So ironic! She thought she would never have to go through the annoying soul swap again. “So where can you find her?" she asked.
“I know where to find Mira,” he responded in a calm tone.
She looked at him wide-eyed, deeply surprised. “Whaaat? You knew all along where Mira's soul was? She had been reborn—?” she asked, shocked.
“Yeah. She was reborn into Luna Amira’s body. Right after you return to your body, Mira also takes over Luna Amira’s body. I didn't tell you about it because I didn't want you to spend your life getting jealous of Mira. I’m sorry I hid the truth from you,” he apologized sincerely.
Luna Rosie bit her lower lip in agony. Tears of frustration swarmed her eyes. Way back, she suspected that Mira had taken over Luna Amira’s soul but she has no evidence that it actually happened and besides her husband didn't visit the Moon Star Pack for the last five years so she thought Mira was not reborn and Luna Amira’s soul had returned to her body as it is.
Now that the truth is out, does it hurt her?
Nah, not anymore. Her husband had proven his loyalty to her over the last five years. She was satisfied.
So why would she feel angry and upset? Besides, she’s dying, so she has no time for jealousy and anger.
“My love, what is your decision?” her husband asked. “Are you willing to have a soul swap with Mira so we can save your life?”
She takes a long breath. “I still want to live but what choices do I have? I want to swallow my pride and say yes to your suggestion because I want to continue to live for you and for our son. But if Mira and I switched bodies, what would the new set up be like? You want me to stay in the Moon Star Pack and lead the pack? You want Mira to stay by your side here in the capital and become your wife? Is it what you want?”
Alpha Gideon fell silent. Their new setup hadn't crossed his mind yet because he was not sure if the women would agree to the soul swap.
He groaned in anxiety and despair, rubbing his jaw. “Right now, that is the best setup I can think of,” he argued gently.
Luna Rosie’s face turned sour. “That setup is bullshit! It’s not beneficial for me. I don’t like it!” she said wearily. “I don't want to live in Moon Star Pack territory. I want to stay here in the capital to be closer to you and our son,” she adamantly said.
“But you can no longer do that if you are already dead. Think about your decision carefully,” he said. “I want to save your life. I want you to continue living even if you are in another woman’s body. I don’t mind,” he added in despair. His eyes glistened with tears.
She released a deep sigh. “Fine. To make you happy, I’m willing to undergo a soul swap again, if Mira agrees. But I’m sure that this time, Mira will never agree. She already enjoys her new life as the leader of the Moon Star Pack. She was well respected and admired by everyone. She is no longer the maid we used to know in the past. She is already a powerful and successful woman. Her current status is a huge upgrade from her previous life. She will never give up her current life just to save me,” she said, letting go of the only chance she had.
“I will beg Mira to agree to the soul swap so she can save your life,” he said fervently, ready to do anything for his beloved wife.
Luna Rosie shook her head, feeling miserable. “No. Please don’t beg her to come here and do a soul swap with me. Don’t stoop so low and beg. You don’t have to do that for me.”
“But I’m willing to do it because I am your husband. It’s my duty and responsibility to save your life,” he insisted. “As for the setup, I am willing to relocate to the Moon Star Pack together with our son so we can stay close to you when you already take over Luna Amira’s body and I will help you run the pack,” he explained. “I will marry you in Luna Amira’s body as my second wife. We can still be together, the three of us!”
“And how about Mira? What will happen to her?” she asked, observing her husband’s face closely.
“She will continue her life as Luna Rosie. We can make it work. All we need to do is live in one house and co-exist as one happy family supporting each other. What do you think of the arrangement I have envisioned in my mind?” he said, desperately wanting his wife to accept his suggestion.
Luna Rosie shook her head wearily, feeling tired and sleepy again. “Husband, please listen to me. You are not the one who called the shots here. It is Mira. So stop wasting your time thinking about setup. It will never happen. Besides I already predicted that Mira would never agree to your arrangement. She will not give up her new found glory. She will never save me from death because I was a cruel bitch to her in the past. So let’s stop talking about this shit. This conversation is emotionally draining for me.”
“Alright, let’s stop this conversation. Go back to sleep,” he said softly.
Luna Rosie closed her eyes and drifted into a deep sleep.
Alpha Gideon stared at his wife’s face for a long time, shaking his head despondently. His wife was right. The decision is no longer in his hands. The decision lies entirely in Mira’s hands.
Would Mira be willing to save his wife’s life just to be with him again?
Right now, he is not sure anymore.
But he can always try his best to convince Mira to save his wife.
He will keep trying until Mira agrees and hopefully not too late yet for his wife.
If Mira agrees, it’s a win-win for both parties. For him, it's like hitting two birds with one stone.
He stood up and left the room to talk to his mother waiting outside the room.

Mira went through all the festive activities the whole day like a zombie, happy outside but deep inside she was dealing with a depressing dilemma.
This was supposed to be a happy day but she was deeply bothered because she received a heartbreaking message from Alpha Gideon a while ago.
His message altered her mood so much.
In his message, he told her that he had got in contact with Landorr Ferqen, the shaman, the only person capable of performing soul swapping. The shaman told him that the only way to save his wife from death was to do soul swapping with her.
Wait a minute...
She can go back to Luna Rosie’s body and continue to become his wife. Sounds good!
The infatuated girl in her would jump at the chance but she is now a matured woman who has big responsibilities to deal with on a daily basis. She has a pack to manage and people are depending on her to continue her legacy as a good leader to them.

She released a deep sigh.
Why is it so damn hard to make a decision? Right now he is waiting for her decision. Until now, she still couldn't make up her mind. She's going crazy!
She told him she needed 24 hours to decide because he was asking for the impossible.
If she said yes, what would be her demands in return for her help?
She just can’t give them what they want without asking for something in return.
That would be unfair on her part!

She left her room and gave instructions to Ruth outside.
“You go ahead to the lake and give prizes to the winner of the boat racing contest. I’m feeling dizzy and I have a headache. It must be the weather. I need to rest for the rest of the afternoon so I can watch the fight of my admirers tonight,” she explained.
Ruth looked at her worriedly. “Are you okay, Luna?” she asked, studying her face.
“I’m fine. I’m just not feeling well because of so many activities going on around. I need a rest, a few hours of good sleep,” she replied.
“OK. I understand. Please take some medicine for the headache,” Ruth said in a concerned tone.
“Yes, I will. Go now and enjoy the boat racing contest and give my love to our people,” she said.
“OK. Take care of yourself and rest well, Luna,” Ruth said and left the room.
Mira returned to her room and went to the mini fridge to get ice cream.
She went back to the sofa, staring at the window while eating strawberry ice cream.
She gave herself 24 hours to make a life-altering decision.
What is the best decision to take?
Returning to Luna Rosie’s body is easy peasy now. But living Luna Rosie’s life is like borrowing someone's identity.
Only by living Luna Amira’s life can she finally feel like she has her own identity and a sense of belongingness.
She belongs to the Moon Star Pack. She loves living Luna Amira’s life because it gives her a sense of purpose and satisfaction.

It was short and direct to the point, saying she didn't want to give up her current life because many people are depending on her, but she still loves him deeply. She wished Luna Rosie a miraculous recovery from cancer.
She burst into tears after sending the message to him, feeling sad and heartbroken.
