Chapter 107 Submit To Me!

Chapter 107 Submit To Me!
Alpha Gideon was sipping his coffee when he received Mira’s reply to his message.
He read her message a dozen times, feeling sad and disappointed by her decision. Her refusal to save his wife crushed his spirit to the ground. Although he understood very well why Mira couldn't help his wife because according to her, there are many people depending on her to continue leading the pack to glory and prosperity.
In short she was using the Moon Star Pack as her alibi why she’s not willing to save Rosie’s life.
He thought she would come running to be reunited with him and rekindle their romance, but he was wrong!
She refused to do soul swapping and it hurt him badly. He thought she would be willing to become his wife again, they could be together again, but she wasted the chance.
It only means one thing, she loves the pack more than him, she loves her current status over him. Because if she still loved him unconditionally, she would come running to the capital to undergo a soul swap with Rosie.
But she already made it clear with her message that she would not change her mind.
He released a deep sigh.
But despite feeling disappointed and hurt by Mira’s decision, he can’t blame her. First and foremost, it’s not Mira’s duty and responsibility to save his wife.
He can’t hate her for refusing to help. He’s just upset.
Maybe his wife is destined to leave this world early and he was powerless to prevent it.
He took a sip of his hot coffee, looking at the window, wearing a dejected look on his face.
His wife stirred in her sleep and opened her eyes. It’s time to tell her about Mira’s decision no matter how painful it is. He finished drinking his coffee, put the empty mug on the table and moved to the bed.
He lowered himself into the chair and said, “My love, how are you feeling now?” He asked, caressing her hands lovingly.
“I’m feeling sick and tired, but I’m still alive,” she responded with a smile, observing his face closely. He looks sad and problematic. "What's wrong?”
He took a deep breath. “Um, I already received Mira’s response to my request regarding soul swapping...”
“And? What is her reply? Tell me about it,” she eagerly asked.
“She said no. She can’t give up her life as Luna Amira because many people are now depending on her as their leader. She can’t help you, but she wishes you a miraculous recovery,” he explained in a wretched tone. I’m so sorry I failed to convince her to help you,” he apologized. “Don’t worry, I will keep begging her everyday so that she will change her mind and save you,” he assured her.
Luna Rosie shook her head. Tears of despair and hopelessness shimmered in her eyes. “No. Please stop begging her for my sake. She has already said no. Don't force her. If she is not willing to help me, so be it. I really can’t blame her. I have no hard feelings for her. I completely understand her reasoning. It’s about time you stopped bothering her and let her enjoy her life as Luna Amira. Let’s not disturb her anymore, she said sorrowfully.
He groaned, feeling miserable. There is a solution but he can’t make it work. He thought that Mira's love for him was enough to convince her to save his wife. He was wrong about his assumption.
“But how can I let you die? I feel like I’m a useless husband to you because I can’t save you from death. This is fucking hard for me to accept. I will go to the Moon Star Pack and personally beg Mira to do soul swapping with you. Maybe I can convince her that way,” he said in a determined tone.
“No! I said stop it! Don’t swallow your pride. If Mira doesn't want to help me, so be it. Stop bothering her!” she said indignantly. “I won’t beg her. So you shouldn't be begging her. She has already made up her mind. No need to go there and beg. Do you hear me?” she said irritably.
“OK fine. I will not go there anymore," he said just to calm his wife’s jittery nerves.
“And stop texting her about the soul swap. Stop wasting your time convincing her!” she told him, annoyed.
“OK, copy.” He nodded his head gloomily. His wife doesn't have to know that he was planning to go to the Moon Star Pack within this week and personally convince Mira to do the soul swapping with his wife before it’s too late.
Mira can say no to him in text, but he doubts if she can say no to his face once he gets down on his knees to beg her to save his wife. He will not hesitate to try it. His strategy might work.
Yup. He already made up his mind. That’s what he’s going to do!
\~~~
That night, two hours before the scheduled friendly fight of Luna Amira’s admirers, Mira has a change of heart.
Because of such an unfortunate incident involving Luna Rosie’s battle with cancer, Mira has lost any desire to kill her three admirers. She decided to try another method to make them submit to her.
For the sake of their family and their people, she will try to save the three irresponsible drunkard Alphas and turn their lives around.
Instead of killing them, she will show mercy.
In her office, Mira gave her order to Ruth. “Please bring my three admirers to the conference room. I have something important to tell them before the friendly fight begins tonight.”
“OK. I will tell them to gather in the conference room,” Ruth said and left the room.
Mira returned to her bedroom and picked up her pet snake and put it in her brown bag. “Brownie, I will try to put some sense in my admirers' heads before the friendly fight begins tonight. If they start hurting me, you know already what to do. Inside the conference room, there are only five of us. They might do something stupid to me. Just restrain them… don’t kill them yet. You can kill them during the fight. Do you understand?"
The snake nodded its head in comprehension.
“Alright, let’s go,” Mira said, sighing heavily. Trying to save three drunkard useless men sounds stupid and a spur of the moment decision for her. If she can put some sense into their stubborn heads and save them from death, why not? She will give them a chance to become a good leader for their packs in the future.
Everyone deserves a second chance. They just have to seize the chance and not let their inflated ego get the better of them.
She picked up her bag and exited the bedroom, heading to the conference room located on the ground floor of the building.
When she arrived there, Ruth and several guards were already stationed outside the conference room.
“Luna, do you want to bring a few guards with you inside the conference room?” Ruth asked, offering safety to their leader.
Mira shook her head. “No need. If they are not carrying any weapons with them then it’s not necessary. I’m sure they didn’t come here to do harm to their future bride,” she responded confidently.
“OK. They are inside now, waiting for you. We will stand here outside. You can always call us if you need our assistance,” Ruth said.
“Thanks Ruth,” Mira said and proudly stepped into the conference room.
The moment she entered the room, the three Alpha looked at her, wearing a smile on their faces as if they had seen a billion dollar sign ready for grabs.
Mira smiled and said, "Thanks for coming, guys.”
Annoyed by the lack of respect, Alpha Gary growled. His voice thundered around the room, saying, “Woman, address us properly, because we are highly respected Alphas in neighboring packs!”
Mira snorted, raising a brow. “Ah, okay, sorry for my lack of respect for you guys. But I consider you my equals. If you are Alphas and leaders of your pack I’m also the Luna of the Moon Star Pack!” She quickly said to silence them, blatantly rubbing her authority on their arrogant loser faces, showing them that she was above them.
The Alphas groaned in outrage, looking at each other, communicating in silence. Mira already saw their true colors behind their facades.
“Guys, I just want to ask each one of you. If one of you wins, what is your plan for me?” she asked, wanting to hear their honest answer to her question.
She looks at Alpha Robin of the Grayme Pack. “What is your answer to my question, Alpha?”
Alpha Robin cleared his throat. “I will take over the management of the Moon Star Pack and you will take care of our pups because that is what every Luna should do,” he replied.
“Thanks for your answer,” Mira said, taking a deep long breath. Then she looked at the leader of the Frost Crown Pack. “How about you Alpha Movin? What is your plan for me if you win the fight?”
“My answer is the same. I will lead the pack because I’m the Alpha and you will take care of the house and the children." He responded with a smug smile on his lips.
“I see,” Mira murmured, sighing inwardly. They are all the same, then she looked at the Alpha of the Eclipse pack. “Alpha Gary, let me hear your plan for me after you win the fight?” she asked.
“My answer is the same as the others. I am the Alpha therefore I will lead the pack and you will manage the household for me and serve me. That is the way it should be,” Alpha Gary answered in a hard tone, showing authority.
“Alright, thanks for all your answers, guys. Noted,” she said calmly.
Alpha Gary stared at her pretty face intensely. He was trying to decipher the reason behind her seemingly innocent question. “Why did you ask about the obvious? Are you testing us?”
Mira shakes her head, smiling in amusement. “No really. I just want to know how my life would change if I married one of you. Now after hearing your plans for me, I feel disappointed…”
“Why? Did we say something bad to you that offended you?” Alpha Robin asked her directly.
“Yeah a bit, because no one among you answered that I could still lead the pack and you would support me. You are all trying to change the narrative if you become my husband. That’s insulting to me. You all know that I worked so hard to make the Moon Star Pack great again, but you are trying to snatch leadership away from my hands. I was offended by your plans for me,” she said dejectedly.
Alpha Gary ignored her emotional outburst. “Get over it, woman! We all know you are desperate to have a husband to give birth to an heir. That is why you want to choose the best candidate to be your husband. You might appear tough and powerful to others but for us, you are just an ordinary Luna, lucky to be blessed by the Moon Goddess. Compared to us who are born Alphas, you are nothing, just an ordinary Luna. Remember that!” he hissed, openly showing his arrogance to Mira and the others in the room.
Mira shrugged, not affected by his shameless display of authority. “OK, fine. Let’s not argue about that issue anymore. It seems you have already made up your mind about how you will deal with me later, after I marry one of you.”
Alpha Gary sneered. “Why? What is your plan now that you know the answers to your questions? Are you offended? Are you mad? Are you disappointed? You no longer want to continue picking your husband among us? Does our answer make you change your mind about the friendly fight tonight?” He asked the obvious.
Mira sighed. “I must admit I’m offended and saddened by your answers. But I also realized it was your nature to rule and lead the pack. I can’t blame you entirely. But the real reason why I summoned you all here is because I have something important to tell you…” she said, her voice steady and calm.
They looked at each other for a few seconds, then directed their full stare at Mira.
“What is it?” Alpha Gary asked, observing her eyes.
Mira cleared her throat. “Guys, it’s only fair that I tell you a secret about myself. The truth is that I am a cursed woman. Before my grandmother passed away, she told me that my first husband would die in an accident. My second husband would die as well. In short, I am destined to stay single for the rest of my life. I’m afraid that if I pick a husband tonight, he will also die. So in order to protect your lives from the curse, I have decided to cancel the friendly fight tonight in order to prevent any unfortunate accidents from happening tonight. I’m doing this for your own good. You will thank me later,” she said in a serious tone.
The three men look at each other, sporting a surprised look on their faces. When she brought up the ridiculous curse topic they were sure she was scheming and making fun of them.
Should they believe her claim?
Or she was just trying to discourage them from taking part in the fight so she can cancel the event and she doesn't have to explain herself to anyone anymore. The three Alphas have chickened out? That’s her intention. That’s what she wants others to believe.
“I promise to help you in making your pack great again by giving you the blueprint of our success. I plan to create an empire where all our people will live in abundance. No one will suffer poverty again. I see how your pack is suffering right now. Too many poor people struggle to put food on their tables. Let me help you solve the food scarcity in your pack. If you allow me,” she said sincerely.
The men looked at her in shock and disbelief.
She continued, “I plan to create a powerful pack, all under the control of the United States of the Moon Star Pack. If you accept my proposal, your packs will become part of my pack. I will become Luna Supreme. Together we can rule the pack to greater glory and no one will invade our land in the years and centuries to come,” she said. Her speech was powerful and full of promise.
But her sincerity was met with scorn. The Alphas laughed at her face, not taking her seriously.
Alpha Gary’s sarcastic laughter and remarks filled the room. “Luna, you are really stupid and dumb! You invented the curse so you want us to abandon the fight, because you want us to submit to your foolish whims and become your servant? Are you crazy?”
“She’s out of her mind.” Alpha Robin chuckled.
“You can’t cancel the fight Luna. We came here to win, not to be under your rule. So stop this nonsense now. You can't persuade us to abandon the friendly fight. We are already looking forward to it. The best man will win tonight and there is nothing you can do to stop it!” Alpha Movin blurted arrogantly.
Mira sighed. “Guys, the curse is true! I’m not joking! I just want you all to be safe tonight, which is why I offered you a better deal than a fight. We could co-exist in harmony and peace,” she said, trying one last time to change their stubborn minds.
“This is bullshit!” Alpha Gary erupted in anger, as he stood up abruptly, glaring at the scheming woman. “You are wasting our time! The fight continues tonight. I will not allow you to cancel it!”
The two Alphas stood up as well.
“The friendly fight continues! You have started it. We will finish it! Get ready to hand over the leadership of the Moon Star Pack to the winner tonight and that should be me!” Alpha Movin said confidently.
Alpha Gary glared at him. “Don’t be so sure of yourself. I will win for sure!” he said cockily.
“Guys, you are nothing compared to my strength. In my eyes you are just an ant. I will definitely win tonight!” Alpha Robin said haughtily, mocking the other Alphas' fighting skills and capabilities.
“In your fucking dreams!” Alpha Gary scoffed, heading to the door.
The men exited the conference room, showing an air of authority around them. Arrogance and defiance plastered on their faces.
Mira was left alone in the room, shaking her head disappointed by the men’s inflated ego.
She looked at Brownie and whispered, “Did you see that? They are so stubborn. I try to save them but they refuse to acknowledge my mercy and my kindness. I already gave them a good deal but they turned it down because of their ego and pride. They are greedy. They want my power and leadership. They are not worthy of being my husband!”
The snake nodded its head in agreement, hissing angrily, ready to deliver death to the arrogant men.
“Alright, let's give them what they want. The friendly fight continues tonight. Let’s stick with our plan,” she told her pet gloomily.
Sporting a pensive look on her face, Mira picked up the bag and exited the room.
