Chapter 105 Not Again!

Chapter 105 Not Again!
~Royal Family Mansion~
Luna Rosie was alone in the room reading her husband’s message on her phone, looking forward to seeing his beautiful photos taken at the legendary colorful Moonlight Festival happening today in Moon Star Pack territory.
Her beloved son was in the garden, playing with his toys, accompanied by Lena.
When suddenly…
She felt dizzy and she already knew why, so she ran to the bed and lay down.
The changes in her bowel movement, blood in stool, abdominal discomfort, such as frequent gas pain, bloating, fullness, cramping, loss of weight, fatigue and weakness have all led to her having stage 4 colon cancer. She hid her cancer illness from her husband and his family.
She appears strong and healthy in front of them, trying her best to prolong her life by taking herbal medicines but to no avail. Her cancer has already spread to her liver, lungs and other organs and tissues.
She was dying and she still couldn't tell her husband that she might not last this year. She was still in denial.
Her eyes were filled with tears.
Looking back, when she finally returned to her body she thought that was the happiest moment in her life because she was finally reunited with her beloved husband.
The last five years of her life, despite her illness, were satisfying, because she gave birth to her son and her marriage was peaceful and filled with love and harmony.
But she was also suffering from colon cancer. It didn't have symptom at first and when the symptoms manifested, she ignored them because she believed she was healthy.
But she was wrong. No matter how many medicines she ingested in secret she’s not getting well.
The only thing she was good at was hiding her illness and pretending to be that she was healthy.
Then she realized that she might die at any moment, and the scary part is her husband is not by her side if that happens.
She doesn't want to die alone while her husband is away.
She needs him by her side, so he can hold her hands and make her feel alright.
She grabbed her phone from the side table and typed a message to her husband, urging him to come back to the capital right away because she might not last long, because she has stage 4 colon cancer and she hid it from him. And right now she is not feeling well.
She told him that she was not joking. She is dying at this very minute.
After sending the message to her husband, dizziness struck again and this time she saw a million stars, making her head spin. She passed out on the bed, still clutching her phone.
A few moments later…
Lena entered the room to get more face towels to put on little Gilbert’s sweaty back. She saw Luna Rosie’s phone on the floor and her face looked white.
She ran to the bed. “Luna Rosie, what happened to you?” she asked worriedly, touching her hands. Her skin felt cold under her touch.
Luna Rosie’s body showed no movement and she was not responding to her questions. She passed out.
Lena ran outside and shouted at the nearest maid to get the car ready because they needed to bring Luna Rosie to the hospital.
The Luna queen was informed about Luna Rosie's condition. She rushed to the bedroom and saw her daughter-in-law lying on the bed unconscious.
The male servant entered the room and gently lifted Luna Rosie’s body. They brought her downstairs and put her in the waiting vehicle waiting outside the driveway.
Luna Queen Rebecca got into the car and held her daughter-in-law's head in her lap. Then she made an emergency call to her son.
Alpha Gideon who had just finished his shower in the rental house answered the call. “Hello, mom, what's up? Why did you call me?”
“Son, come back to the capital right away. Your wife Rosie passed out on the bed. We are on our way to the hospital. Hurry up!” the Luna Queen said anxiously.
“Whaaat? She was fine when I left yesterday. Alright, I'll come home right away,” he finally said.
“OK, bye.” The Luna Queen put her phone back in her bag. She sighed heavily while looking at her daughter-in-law's pale face. She told them she had IBS, Irritable Bowel Syndrome. She’s now suspecting it could be something worse, because Rosie also passed out last month.
Maybe her daughter-in-law was dealing with a serious health problem and hiding it from them. She needs to have a serious talk with Rosie’s doctor to find out about her real medical condition.
A few minutes later they finally arrived at the hospital and Luna Rosie was given immediate medical attention by the hospital staff. The Luna Queen went to Rosie’s doctor to ask about her daughter-in-law’s condition.
“Doc, what is her illness? Tell me the truth!” the Luna Queen demanded.
The doctor heaved a sigh. “We thought it was just an ordinary IBS symptom, but it turned out to be more serious. She has stage 4 colon cancer and her body is not responding to medicines, so she told me that she was trying other options like herbal medicines and so on. I’m sorry, we can't do anything to help her. Her cancer is already beyond saving because it already affected her other vital organs,” he elaborated further, his tone apologetic and sad.
“But she never told us about her real condition,” Luna Queen Rebecca said in a tone filled with shock and sadness.
“She begged me not to tell anyone about it because she was hoping and trying her best to find a cure,” the doctor replied calmly.
“OK. Thank you, Doc." Luna Queen Rebecca finally ended her conversation with Rosie’s physician and exited his office wearing a worried expression on her face.
She sat on the chair in the hallway and began calling all her family members, informing them of Luna Rosie’s colon cancer condition and her current condition.
…
While waiting for the private plane to be ready, Alpha Gideon was totally shocked and heartbroken while repeatedly reading his wife’s devastating text revelation about her true health condition. He didn't expect that she had stage 4 colon cancer. She only told him that she had IBS, and she was already taking medicines. She passed out last month, that’s the clue.
Now she passed out again.
How could he have known?
Because every time he asked her about her IBS problem she would respond that she is managing well and there is nothing to worry about her illness and she regularly visits her doctor. He thought her illness was manageable.
He released a deep sigh. It turns out she was lying all along, hiding her cancer diagnosis from him.
He needs to be there by her side no matter what. This is not the time to feel angry, upset or blame her for why she didn't tell him about her illness. It’s too late for an intense confrontation and blame game.
His wife needs his love and understanding, not endless blaming from him. He will exactly give her that.
Then he remembered Mira. They were supposed to see each other today, and tonight they will celebrate the Moonlight Festival together with the team and then finally the game of strength between her admirers will take place tonight and the winner will become her husband.
He quickly typed a message on his phone and informed Mira about his wife's condition. That is why he needed to return to the capital immediately to be with his wife.
Mira responded with a shock and crying emoji and replied that she completely understood his situation and that she would pray for Luna Rosie’s quick recovery.
Done texting, he put his phone in the pocket of his coat and looked heavenward.
Why are you doing this? First the mind boggling soul swap? Then now, his wife is dying?
So unfair!
Why is heaven punishing him, subjecting him to endless trials? Is there no break in heartbreak and pain? He laments over and over again.
A few minutes later, the pilot signaled that the plane was ready to take off. Alpha Gideon quickly boarded the private plane, heading back to the capital.
After more than one hour of air travel, he finally landed back in the capital and went straight to the hospital where his wife was currently admitted.
When he arrived in his wife’s private room, his mother was there and his wife was already wide awake.
Luna Queen Rebecca stood up. “I’m glad you are here now, son. Rosie has been asking about you.”
“Thank you, Mom, for taking care of Rosie for me,” he said, looking at his beloved wife’s fragile and ghostly face.
Luna Rosie met her husband’s worried gaze with a smile plastered on her lips. “My love…I'm happy you are here now.”
“I’m here now, my love. I will never leave your side again,” he said lovingly, planting a gentle kiss on her head.
The luna queen left the room to give the couple a chance to talk in private.
Luna Rosie burst into tears. “I’m dying, my love. I’m so sorry, but I am too scared to tell you about my health problems. I lied because I thought I could find a cure for my cancer and besides I don't want you to worry about me. But I failed to find a cure. I’m dying, and there is nothing I can do about it. I’m so sorry,” she said apologetically, her tone filled with anguish and sorrow.
“It’s okay, there is no need to apologize. I understand your situation. I really do. Let’s find the best doctor abroad so that we can save your life. We will definitely find a cure!” He assured her in a determined tone.
“No. I don’t want to go abroad and suffer more. My health is deteriorating fast. I can feel it in my body. I have already accepted my fate. I just want to go home and be with our son, so we could be together again until my last breath. I don't want to spend the remainder of my life suffering from endless treatment. I just want to go home to be with my family and live happily while I still can. I hope you respect my wishes,” Luna Rosie said between tears, her voice getting weaker as minutes passed by.
Alpha Gideon took a deep breath. “OK. I respect your wishes. We will go home tomorrow if your health improves," He finally agreed to honor her dying wish because he could feel that her days are already numbered.
“Thank you so much, my love. I’m very lucky to have you as my husband. I love you very much,” she said sweetly.
“I love you more, my love,” he said, his voice breaking, heavy with emotion.
He hugged her tightly, knowing that anything bad could happen to her at this very moment. This might be their last hug together.
“Take care of our son for me, my love. I wish I could be with you and our son together for a long time until my hair turns gray, but unfortunately I will be gone soon. I feel so sad and terrified of dying again,” Luna Rosie said, crying harder.
“Stop crying, my love. You have to be strong so that we can go home tomorrow. Our son is waiting for you back home,” Alpha Gideon said dejectedly. He can only hold his wife in his arms tenderly, making her feel loved and valued. If only he had the power to extend her life he would do it without hesitation.
Then he remembered Landorr Ferqen, a powerful shaman. Maybe he can do something to extend his wife’s life or find a cure for her illness. He will contact him later after he finishes talking to his wife.
“My love, my eyelids are dropping fast, I’m feeling sleepy. Please don’t leave my side. I’m scared of dying alone," she said in a tone filled with despair.
“Don’t worry, I will never leave your side. Go to sleep now, my love,” he said and wiped the tears from her eyes with a handkerchief.
When his wife finally fell asleep peacefully, Alpha Gideon instructed Lena to stay in the room. “Watch my wife and call me right away if she wakes up,” he told Lena.
“Copy Alpha,” Lena replied and sat on the chair beside the hospital bed.
Alpha Gideon exited the room and joined his mother on the bench in the hallway.
“How is your wife, son?” Luna Rebecca asked.
“She’s very weak and very emotional,” he responded gloomily.
“I can’t believe Rosie is dying. After all the hardship she's been through, especially the trauma she experienced because of soul swapping, now she's been rewarded with this? This is unfair!” Luna Rebecca lamented.
“Indeed, it’s unfair. She doesn’t deserve this,” he responded sorrowfully. Tears of frustration shimmered in his eyes.
“Is there no other way to save Rosie?” she asked aloud.
He took a deep breath and replied, “I will contact the shaman Landorr Ferqen now. Maybe there is something he can do to extend my wife's life or cure her of cancer completely. I will pay him any amount he wants as long as he can save my wife,” he said, holding his phone in his hands.
“Yes, do that now, son. Contact him now. Maybe he can help Rosie,” Luna Rebecca agreed.
He unlocked his phone and placed a call to the shaman.
“Hello, Sir Ferqen, remember me? Alpha Gideon, husband of Luna Rosie and Mira, soul swapping incident in the royal family household?” he said.
“Ah, yes, I remember you. You are Alpha Gideon, heir to the royal throne, and the soul swapping incident between your wife and the maid Mira,” Landorr Ferqen replied. “What’s up?” he asked.
“Do you still remember that I informed you five years ago that my wife's soul had returned to her original body? And everything went well for the last five years, but something happened to my wife lately…”
“What happened to Luna Rosie?” Landorr Ferqen asked.
“She was currently suffering from stage 4 colon cancer. She is dying. I called you to ask if there is anything you can do to save her life and cure her of cancer? I’m willing to pay you any amount as long as you can save her life. Please help my wife,” he begged earnestly.
“I see. I’m sorry to hear that. There is indeed another way to save your wife,” Landorr Ferqen replied.
“How?” Alpha Gideon's eyes widened in relief and excitement. “Please tell me what to do!”
“Tell Mira if she is willing to swap bodies with your wife. The moment Mira’s soul takes over your wife's body, cancer will go into remission. Your wife’s body will no longer suffer from cancer in her life. But convince Mira quickly. Time is running out for your wife,” Landorr Ferqen said urgently.
Alpha Gideon was stunned. “Huh? No way! Soul swapping again? Hell no!” He groaned in dismay. He was sick and tired of soul swapping. “Is there no other way?”
“Sad to say, there's no other way. Inform the girls right away if they agree to soul swapping. If they agree, I will come to perform the soul swap between the two women,” Landorr Ferqen replied.
“OK. I will ask the women first if they agree to the soul swap,” Alpha Gideon replied glumly.
He finished his conversation with the shaman, feeling gutted and devastated. Five years ago, he informed his parents and siblings that Mira’s soul had been transferred to Luna Amira’s body from the Moon Star Pack. The only person who didn't know the truth was his wife.
Luna Rebecca took a deep breath. “Did I hear it right? The only way to save Rosie is to undergo soul swapping with Mira again. But do you think Mira would agree? She already lives a good life as Luna Amira. I'm sure she will not agree to the soul swap anymore,” she said, shaking her head in absolute distress.
Alpha Gideon sighed heavily. “I will discuss this issue with my wife first,” he said. He stood up and entered the room to inform his wife about the shaman’s suggestion.
