Chapter 104 Shall We Do It?
Alpha Gideon was shocked and surprised after reading Mira’s message about asking for help because she was going to choose a husband to marry during the Moonlight Festival, an event unique to the Moon Star Pack.
It hit him hard.
She is finally going to marry and choose a husband and she was invited to attend the Moonlight Festival.
But why?
Why would she do that? Why did she have to invite him when they both know that they have shared a romantic past together?
He felt a stirring in his heart, a burst of pain and jealousy for the man she was going to marry.
He can’t see any reason to go there to the Moon Star Pack and witness her choosing her husband in front of him.
Besides, his relationship with his wife Rosie is already peaceful. What’s the point in all this?
But why would he hesitate to visit Mira and the Moon Star Pack?
Was he afraid that if they saw each other they might rekindle their love affair?
What was there to be afraid of?
He released a deep sigh, looking for answers in the sky above.
Honestly, a part of him wanted to accept Mira’s invitation. But another part also warned him that if she seduced him he might not be able to say no to her because until now she still owned half of his heart. He still thinks about her every day and night.
He just doesn't want to acknowledge the elephant in the room because everything in his life is going well.
Should he go or not?
He groaned, confused more than ever.
He knows that Mira is waiting for his reply today.
What will he reply to her?
She would be sad and upset if he refused her invitation.
He can always tell her a lie, for example, he will decide later because he is a bit busy with professional and family duties and he can't find the time to free himself from his busy schedule.
It’s a polite way of saying he is not sure if he can attend or not.
But what does his heart really want?
The truth is he might be compelled to go because his team has been telling him in advance that they want him to visit the pack again at the coming Moonlight Festival. He would also like to visit the mining site again and see with his own eyes the huge progress made there over the years.
Actually, if he really wanted to, he is free to go to the Moon Star Pack and visit the place again. No excuses!
So why not?
He wants to go.
That’s it!
He finally convinced himself to accept Mira’s invitation. Maybe it’s the last time he will see her single.
It’s for the best that she chooses a husband and gets married soon so that there is someone who will take care of her and share the heavy burden of managing a pack.
Mira deserves to be happy too just like him and Rosie.
He finally typed a message, informing her that he was coming to celebrate the Moonlight Festival with her.
The moment he finished typing the message, he quickly hit the send button.
Afterward, he entered the mansion and proceeded to the second floor to be with his beloved wife and son.
Meanwhile…
A thousand miles away, in the Moon Star Pack territory, Mira read Alpha Gideon’s message a hundred times. A huge grin broke on her face. Hooray! He finally accepted her invitation.
She was thrilled and elated. Every fiber of her being was excited to see him again.
He would be able to witness the spectacular way the three Alpha would kill each other, a victim of their own greed and evil intention.
She picked up her pet snake from the bed and cradled it lovingly in her lap.
“Brownie, my beloved Alpha Gideon is finally coming here after five years! Can’t you believe that? It’s been a long time since I last saw him. I wonder what he looks like in person now?” she murmured excitedly.
A few minutes later, her face turned serious. “I don’t want to find a husband. I only want Alpha Gideon to be my husband and the father of my children. Too bad he’s already happy with his wife and son. There is no way he will love me again. I’m feeling sad and lonely right now. I only want him,” she said. Tears of longing shimmered in her eyes.
Brownie’s eyes turned red for a few seconds then switched back to its original dark color.
“I still can’t get over him, Brownie. What am I going to do with my heart? My stubborn heart refused to let go of him,” she said in sorrow. Tears of despair and heartbreak fell freely from her eyes.
She sobbed hard face down on her pillow while her pet snake looked at her in sadness. Brownie couldn't do anything to help her.
After half an hour of continuous crying she finally stopped, drying her tears with the back of her hand and looking at her pet despondently. “Are you sad that I’m crying? Don’t worry, I won't cry anymore. I’m just releasing pent-up emotions. I will be fine after this,” she assured herself with a smile.
She went to the bathroom and took a long shower to refresh herself.
After she finished bathing she left her room and went to her office to continue dealing with the pack's affairs.

One month later.
The Moonlight Festival is finally happening the next day.
The three despicable Alpha were already making preparations according to their plan. They already have their own brilliant strategy.
As for Alpha Gideon, he arrived one day before the festival.
Since Mira already knew how to drive her own bike which she learned from Ruth, she went to the private hangar, wearing her striking black rider ensemble.
Every time she feels lonely, she sometimes travels solo to the countryside with her pet snake, driving her bike and commune with nature. Each ride was a liberating and wonderful experience, her way of overcoming loneliness.
‘She looks smokin hot in her biker outfit!’ Alpha Gideon thought to himself, admiring her sexy figure clad in black. She looks tough yet desirable. He was smitten by her charm all over again.
He still feels the same way about her.
“Your highness, welcome back to the Moon Star Pack!” she said merrily, happy to see him again after a long time of separation.
“Nice meeting you again, Luna Amira,” he said, hugging her for a brief second then reluctantly letting her go again.
She glanced at the driver who was busy loading Alpha Gideon's bags into the vehicle to take him to the rented house to meet the rest of the team who are in-charge of mining operations.
Then she looked at him and said, “Your highness, please get in the car, the driver will take you to the rented house.”
“How about you?” he asked.
“I’m going to ride my motorcycle,” she replied.
"I have been dying to visit the lake, your favorite place. Why don’t you take me there on your bike?” he suggested casually.
She raised a brow. “Really? You want to ride while I drive?” she asked in disbelief, feeling excited, her heart beating wildly in her rib cage.
“Yup!” He responded quickly. He looked at the driver and said, "Take my stuff to the rental house. Tell them that Luna Amira will bring me to this wonderful place I have been dying to see for a long time,” he said.
The driver bowed his head. “Copy, your highness.”
Mira and Alpha Gideon smile at each other.
The driver got back in the vehicle, started the engine and drove the car back in the direction of the rental house.
Mira grinned. “So? Who’s driving? You or me?” she asked. Her eyes sparkled mischievously.
“Can I drive? I missed driving a motorcycle for a long time,” he said excitedly.
“Sure, lover boy!” Mira laughed softly, teasing him as she handed him the key to her motorcycle.
“Great!” Alpha Gideon chuckled, amused by her teasing.
They get into a motorcycle.
After Mira finished explaining to him the directions to the lake, they began their joy ride in the countryside.
“You are a defensive driver, you drive slow,” Mira said aloud in his ears, careful not to press her body too close to him, respecting his privacy.
Alpha Gideon chuckled in amusement. “I only drive slow because I have a passenger,” he replied.
Mira grinned happily, truly enjoying the ride with him at the helm. She never expected he would be interested in driving her motorcycle and ended up being his passenger.
She longed to wrap her hands around his waist and rest her head on his back. But she won't be doing any of that blatant flirtation right now. She doesn't want him to think that she was taking advantage of their close proximity to each other.
They finally exited the city proper and entered the picturesque countryside.
Alpha Gideon was enjoying the ride, the scenery and the lovely company of his hot biker passenger.
After almost an hour of travelling they finally arrived at the lake.
Alpha Gideon parked the motorcycle in the shade of the tree and looked at the lake. “Wow, what a lovely place you have here! The lake looks breathtaking," he gushed appreciatively, scanning the majestic mountains in the distance.
“This is my favorite place. I’m glad you like it,” she beamed proudly, happy that he also liked the place. “Do you want to go inside the wooden house?” she offered.
“Sure, I would love to,” he responded with a smile.
They entered the wooden house and Mira opened the fridge and grabbed two bottles of cold refreshing soda and handed one to him.
They sipped their sodas and exited the house again. They stood side by side, staring at the clear tranquil water of the lake, looking so inviting.
“Do you want to swim in the water?” she asked, looking into his eyes, hypnotized by his handsomeness. Five years have passed, and he’s more handsome than ever. Her heart somersaulted inside her rib cage, feeling like a high school girl salivating at her crush.
“The water indeed looks nice and inviting, but I don’t have any extra clothes with me right now,” he says regrettably, shaking his head, but he really wanted to take a dip in the bright turquoise color water.
“No problem. I once bought some clothes of your size five years ago because I was planning to invite you here to see the lake but I didn't have the chance to tell you about it because you are adamant to keep your distance from me. But I didn't throw out your clothes. I still keep them in the drawer of my closet just in case you come here in the future. Now here you are, finally!” she squealed in delight.
His heart ached painfully gazing at her smiling face. She was so happy to see him. But ironically she will choose a husband tomorrow. She will finally let go of his memories in her heart. She deserves to be happy too.
“I’ll get you clothes so you can swim in the water,” she said and walked back to the house.
He took a deep breath, shaking his head. He is happy now with his family, no need to bring chaos to his already peaceful life.
Mira returned with his clothes and directed him to the bathroom hut nearby to change into his swimming attire.
She watched him enter the bathroom and smiled sadly. She could never have his love again. All they had in the past was borrowed time. Borrowed love.
He rightfully belongs to his perfect family.
After he finished donning his swimming attire he quickly dived into the water and enjoyed frolicking in the water.
Mira didn't join him in the water, instead she made herself busy by cooking chicken and meat barbecued on the grill while he was swimming in the water to his heart's content.
The delicious aroma of grilled meat fills the air.
After he finished swimming, Alpha Gideon got out of the water and put back on his dry clothes. “The water is amazing! Thank you for the swimming trunks. I appreciate your effort very much,” he said thoughtfully.
“Don’t mention it.” She smiled, busy preparing the table so he could eat before leaving the lake. “Eat some delicious chicken barbecue before going back to the city.”
“Alright, I’m starving, let’s eat together,” he said casually, sporting a bright smile on his face.
The couple ate the delicious chicken barbecue together, chatting merrily about baby Gilbert, not mentioning Luna Rosie even once in their conversation.
After they finished eating, Mira washed the dirty dishes in the sink while Alpha Golden watched her doing house chores.
“Are you going back with me to the city?” he asked.
Mira shakes her head. “No. I’m going to sleep here tonight. You will go back to the city alone. I will let you borrow my bike because you love driving it,” she replied in a pleasant tone.
He smiled appreciatively. “Nice. Thank you. Your bike is awesome!”
“You’re welcome,” Mira responded happily.
After she finished washing the dishes, it’s now time for her visitor to leave her place and return to the city.
Mira handed him back the keys to her bike. “Take care of my bike. I’ll see you tomorrow in the morning."
She added, “Drive safely.”
“Thank you,” he said softly and looked deeply into her eyes.
Now that he’s leaving her side, she feels suffocating sadness take over her fragile heart. She broke their eye contact and said, “Go now, your highness. Eyes on the road. Bye.”
He smiled. “Bye.”
She watched him leave the door. Every step he took was like a knife stabbing her poor heart in every direction. With a heavy step, she walked to the door and was about to close it when he suddenly returned. He stepped into the room and closed the door behind him. He was intensely gazing down at her face.
Her brows furrowed. “What’s wrong? Did you forget something, your highness?” she asked, surprised by the way he looked at her.
“Yes, I forgot something…I forgot to do this.” Without another word, he cupped her face and claimed her lips for a searing kiss that took their breath away. She responded to him, surrendering her heart to his passionate assault on her mouth.
Five years of longing were unleashed into their kiss and all hell broke loose.
As their kisses deepened, they began touching each other's bodies. An intense desire gripped their consciousness. They couldn't get enough of their kisses and groping. The intense attraction they had to each other was like an exploding volcano, uncontrollable.
Deeply aroused, their intense hunger for each other intensified. They landed in the bedroom, groping each other’s bodies as they continued kissing each other's mouths in wild abandon. He planted a kiss on her head and said, “I better get going now.”
“OK.” She watched him put on his clothes, admiring his ripped muscled body.
He was ready to go.
She gets out of bed, wears the bathrobe and they walk to the door and exit the wooden house.
She watched him get on her bike as if he was the true owner. She suddenly felt emotional, her eyes burning with love for him.
He looked at her one last time. “Take care of yourself and lock the door.”
“OK,” she replied sweetly. “Take care of yourself, and please drive safely,” she added. Her heart was bursting with joy ‘coz they were intimate again after a long time of separation. Those hot delirious moments will live forever in her heart.
Maybe this could mean something in the long run?
It’s too early to tell. But she was excited about what lay ahead for the two of them.
After he was gone, Mira locked the door, went back to her bed, and lay down, replaying back in her mind their pleasure-filled lovemaking.
“So good! So amazing!” she murmured in delight.
That night she slept peacefully in her bed, wearing a bright smile on her face.
