Chapter 47
Impatiently, Robert took out his phone and asked, “Why do I have to come to a place like this?”
His eyes were filled with obvious disdain, as if this place were something filthy,
“Listen for yourself!”
I also heard the implication in his words and walked over.
Robert played a voice message for us.
The voice in the message sounded anxious: “Robert, do you know where lan went? I’ve been looking for him for a while and couldn’t find him. I’m a bit worried. Can you help me find him?”
The voice was clear and melodious, and I couldn’t be more familiar with it.
It was Cathy!
No wonder.
Robert had always looked down on me. When I was at the Kemnis family’s house, every time I appeared, he would avoid me from afar with disdain.
He was the type of person who never wanted to inconvenience himself.
It turned out that he came to my door to help Cathy find Ian?
I let out a light snort.
It seemed like Cathy was really fortunate.
On the one hand, she had Ian who was devoted to her and willing to overlook even her betrayal.
On the other hand, she had Robert, who was willing to run around for her.
I was about to tell Robert that Ian was not at my place when the second voice message from Cathy sounded.
“Robert, there’s no need to look for him anymore. I already know where Ian is. He’s at the Prime Hotel, and John… is also there.”
As the message ended, Fredrica’s phone rang.
She picked it up.
Upon hearing the content of the call, her face immediately changed. “Damn Ian!”
We hurried to the Prime Hotel.
The door of room 1032 was slightly ajar.
Inside the room, John sat on the bed.
He was wearing an unbuttoned shirt, exposing the skin on his chest.
His hands were resting on his sides, and his usually smiling face was now filled with anger.
Sitting across from him was a man who seemed like a deity.
His long legs were casually stretched out, and he had one hand resting on the armrest of the chair, holding a lighter and flicking it on and off.
Making a crisp, cold sound.
The man’s face showed no expression at all, and he remained silent throughout.

It was none other than lan.
I pushed the door open and walked in. When I saw the situation next to John, I gasped in shock.
“Hiss…”
Fredrica rushed in and, upon seeing the scene, frustratedly grabbed a handful of his hair.
“Damn it!”
Seeing the two of us, John let out a low roar, his angry eyes glaring at lan. “lan, are you even human, framing the like this?”
Ian stopped flicking the lighter and leaned slightly forward, his cold gaze not falling on John. “Did I force you to sleep with her?”
His gaze pointed to John’s side.
At this moment, there was a woman sitting beside John.
Her clothes were disheveled and barely covered by a blanket.
This scene was enough to indicate what had happened before.
Fredrica was so anxious that she grabbed his scalp, helplessly shouting, “John!”
John’s handsome face was filled with grievances. “I didn’t seek out this woman. I didn’t do anything with her!”
“I’m his fan. I’ve liked him for a long time,” the woman said softly.
I understood John’s character quite well.
Although he could be smooth–talking and a bit flirtatious on normal days, he still had some bottom line.
He would never have any intimate relations with a fan.
If it were just John and the female fan in the room, everything would be explainable.
However, lan was also present.
He wasn’t a bored person; he must have had a purpose in holding on to John like this.
With his means, today’s incident would undoubtedly ruin John!
I walked up to Ian and asked, “Ian, what exactly do you want to do?”
lan remained silent, only looking down at his watch.
His indifference remained unchanged as always.
In the next moment, he stood up and walked out of the room.
I took a deep breath and followed him outside.
“The person who provoked you is me. Take it out on me if you must. John is innocent; spare him.” I stood in front of him, my tone noticeably softer.
I had underestimated Ian’s means.
I thought he would at most shut down Starlight Media.
But I never expected him to go after someone else.
“I’m not looking for you; I’m looking for your bedfellow!” Ian finally spoke.
As he spoke, he clenched his teeth, showing how angry he was.
Men’s matters should be settled by men.

He didn’t love me, but he absolutely wouldn’t allow me to hear another man’s child under the name of Mrs. Kemnis!
Tell him to come out!”
“The owner of Starlight Media is me.” I honestly admitted.
In response, lan let out a cold laugh. “You have a child, and yet you’re not taking responsibility. When your secret is revealed, you send a woman out instead. Sherry, is this the man you chose?”
1: “…”
Knowing that he wouldn’t believe me, I decided not to dwell on this issue any longer.
“I didn’t deceive or use you. Back then, when we… It was my first time, and you saw that.”
“So, you
cheated on your marriage because of loneliness?” Before I could finish my words, Ian interrupted me.
He looked at me coldly. “You were the one who insisted on becoming Mrs. Kemnis. Even if you were lonely, you should have endured it! What right do you have to complain? What face do you have to be intimate with other men and bear the child of a random man?”
His words were harsh.
And hurtful.
I had never wanted to fight for the title of Mrs. Kemnis.
Even though I felt aggrieved and unwilling.
Back then, when I had a relationship with him, I unintentionally became the third person between him and Cathy. I felt overwhelming shame and decided to escape, even planning never to set foot in this city again.
But I stayed and became Mrs. Kemnis, all for him.
The sense of grievance overwhelmed me, but I forced back my tears so they wouldn’t fall.
I looked at Ian, a hint of mockery crossing my lips. “Indeed, I don’t have the face to bear another man’s child. But what about yours? Do you value that? Don’t you remember? On the second day of our wedding, we found out that I was pregnant. It was your family doctor who made the diagnosis to ensure that the child was from the Kemnis family and even conducted a paternity test!”
“But what did you do to your own child? On our way to pay respects to your father, just because of a phone call from Cathy, you kicked me out of the car and left me standing alone on the icy road without any arrangement!”
The pain of the past was too much to bear. If he hadn’t pushed me to the edge today, I wouldn’t have had the courage to bring it up!
The snow was heavy at that time, fluttering like cotton.
In just a moment, the snow on the ground accumulated to a depth of half a meter.
In such weather, coupled with the remote location, it was impossible for anyone to pass by!
My phone and bag were both in the car!
I had thought I might freeze to death there. If it weren’t for William passing by, I might have really died.
I closed my eyes tightly.
Even after he saved me, I suffered from hypothermic shock and was taken to the hospital.
The child was affected and almost miscarried, and my progesterone levels dropped to a terrifying level.
I relied on my strong determination to keep this child, and I endured a lot of suffering for it.
It was also because of this that Iris’s resistance was extremely low, leading to a blood infection at birth.
“You don’t want your own child, so I can only go and bear children for others!” My emotions had calmed down as I spoke again, my voice now cold as ice.

The pain that Iris suffered was brought upon by him, and humiliating him a little was not excessive!
“lan, you hate me for setting up this marriage, but you also benefited from this marriage, didn’t you?”
“Gaining benefits yet portraying yourself as the victim–what is this? Shameless!”
“Of course, it can also be called childish!”
After the divorce, I had spoken many straightforward words to lan, but never as sharp and harsh as I was now!
lan was left stunned by my scolding, and for a moment, he couldn’t react.
I didn’t want to face him for another second, so I stepped into the room.
As I turned around, I saw a figure passing through the corridor, the corners of their lips curling in disdain, and then the door slammed shut.
Once inside the room, I heard a high–pitched scream.
I quickly looked over and saw a shadow swaying by the window, causing my face to turn pale in an instant!
