Chapter 7 Chapter 7
Saturday Night
After a week full of tension and discovery, Rael decided to relax and unwind. He spent the day exploring the city and, in the evening, went to Nathan’s bar, where he tried to integrate into the environment and make some local connections.
The bar was lively, with loud music and a vibrant atmosphere. Rael was having more fun than he expected when the door opened and Selene, Lysandra, and Diana entered.
Entrance of the Three Vampires
Selene, with a determined look and an aura of coldness, immediately sought out Rael. The sight of him, confident and with a slight smile on his lips, made her heart race. She walked toward him with a determined air. Lysandra and Diana followed her, while Diana remained silent, observing the scene from afar.
Rael waved at Selene, a gesture that seemed casual to the others, but she wasn’t in a joking mood.
— You — Selene began, her voice thick with restrained tension — why did you dare attack my brother?
Rael smiled and sat back on the bench, as if he didn’t take the accusation seriously.
— Oh, it was just a little disagreement. I didn’t think it would offend you that much. Sometimes things get out of hand, you know.
Lysandra, next to Selene, approached Rael with a seductive look and a relaxed posture, contrasting with the heavy atmosphere.
— Selene, don’t worry about it — he said softly. — I have nothing against you or your clan. In fact, I think the situation was misinterpreted.
Selene gave her a suspicious look but didn’t answer. Diana simply took a few steps back, keeping her distance to observe.
Interaction at the Bar
Lysandra turned to Rael with a teasing smile.
— Maybe we can resolve this in a more pleasant way, don’t you think?
Rael returned the smile, interested. The chemistry between them was evident, and before long, they were immersed in a close, engaging conversation. Lysandra leaned in closer and, before he could react, kissed him passionately.
Selene and Diana watched from afar. Selene, despite trying to maintain a neutral expression, couldn’t hide her frustration and jealousy. She didn’t like the idea of Lysandra getting involved with someone she considered a threat.
Deciding that the bar wasn’t the best place to continue their conversation, Lysandra and Rael got up and left together, exchanging one last look with Selene before leaving the place.
Selene’s Thoughts
Alone with Diana, Selene was plunged into a whirlwind of emotions. She was irritated by Rael’s attitude and uncomfortable with Lysandra’s proximity. Even though she tried to hide it, she couldn’t help but feel uneasy seeing them together.
As the two walked away, Selene reflected. Rael’s presence and the impact he had on her life and the clan were proving more complex than she had imagined.
Diana, at her side, noticed Selene’s condition but remained silent, awaiting whatever decision she might make.
Selene was torn between anger and worry. Relations between vampires and werewolves in Ravenshade were just beginning to unravel, and she knew she would need to navigate this with caution and strategy in the coming days.
