Chapter 34 CHAPTER 34

Chapter 34 CHAPTER 34
Sera

I pushed the door open, meeting Morgause in my room. “Sera,” she scolded, looking at the pool of water that formed slowly underneath me. “Where did you go?”

Before I could respond, she turned and grabbed a towel. “Wrap yourself up. I cannot imagine you walking around like that, asking for attention.”

My face flamed as I took it from her. “I got lost and fell,” I lied, walking slowly to my vanity and collapsing into the chair, blood still racing to my head.

“I'll draw a warm bath for you,” Morgause said, getting up.

“Wait,” I stopped her. “Could you get me warmer clothes?”

“Yes, definitely,” Morgause replied, heading for my wardrobe.

“No, Morgause,” I sighed. “I was hoping for new clothes. Thicker ones even. I have already checked and the ones there would do nothing to help me now.”

Her brows furrowed but she nodded. “You should have not gone out under this storm.”

“I am sorry,” I apologized. “Coukd you get me some tea too? To warm my body up?”

She rolled her eyes and left, muttering something about people suffering the consequences of their actions. The minute she closed the door, my head hit my vanity table.

Holy Goddess.

No, the goddess had absolutely fuck nothing to do with that. That was all Dante, all man. My right nipple tingled underneath my clothes, his teeth still sending small tremors to my toes. I looked up at myself.

My hair was drenched, falling down around my shoulders. There was a small purple bruise forming on my neck, one I was sure was a result of his sucking my neck. Why were they so fucking attractive?

Those eyes. “Fuck it was the eyes,” I groaned, covering my face in shame. “He just wanted me so much,” I muttered to myself. “He looked so good and the minute he touched me, I could not fucking resist him.”

“Well look at yourself,” I hissed. “Here again, crying about how you found another vampire king attractive because he managed to make your pussy throb. When will you use your head? When will you focus on what you came here for,Sera?” I groaned.

I glared at myself, my hand lightly touching the purple bruise. A small red shimmer flickered to life.

Vomit swam up my throat and I grabbed my mouth, stopping myself from hurling at the last minute. But that was it.

I suddenly felt calm. The air felt still, the rain falling slower now, even the sound of thunder coming from outside was much calmer, the feeling lust ebbing out of me.

I blinked, looking at where my hand met my neck. The glow was still there, steady. It wasn't just in my head.

I stared at it more, then followed it, staring back at myself. My hand was wrapped around my neck, but, it was tilted, almost like I was stroking myself. My reflection tilts its head slowly, a small smirk lifting my face up. Suddenly, my pupils move, and now, my reflection was looking back…at me.

I had not moved a single inch.

I screamed, moving backwards. My chair broke as it fell to the floor, my door opening and everything became faster again.

Two guards rushed inside, their swords raised. “Are you okay?”

“There's someone,” I croaked. “There’s someone in there,” I pointed to my mirror.

The guards stared at themselves. “What?”

I closed my eyes. “I said there is someone in the mirror.”

“You mean in the room?”

“God damn it, I know the difference. In the mirror.”

“Okay, and what did they look like?” The guard asked.

I turned to the mirror, my mind blank. Shit. “They looked like me.”

The two guards straightened and sheathed their swords. “Calm down, my Lady,” the guard sighed. “You have probably caught a cold and you're seeing things.”

Morgause walked in then, followed by Ivana. “My God,” she breathed, placing the tray she held down. “What happened here?"

“We think she's sick,” the guard answered on my behalf. “She is imagining someone in her room.”

“No,” I wiggled my finger at him. “That was not what I said. There was someone in my mirror.”

Morgause sighed. “Please excuse us. She needs to take her bath now.”

The guards bowed and left the room, closing the door behind them. Ivana stood at the edge, carrying the warm clothes I had asked for.

“Now come have your warm tea,” Morgause said, leading me to the bed. I sat down, taking the cup from her as my gaze drifted to Ivana.

As usual, her head is low, not looking at me. Shit, how would I make a good impression when I was always having mad moments like this?

“Thank you for the clothes, Ivana.”

She glanced up at me and kept quiet, then began walking into the wardrobe. I drank the hot tea, the sweet taste of honey lifting my spirits up.

“Morgause,” Ivana gasped, her voice the loudest I had heard. “Come and see.”

I dropped the tea, getting to where she was before Morgause did. My vanity mirror which was intact when we just left the bathroom was broken now, the shards of glass in the floor. It was barely hanging to the wood, and I stared at it in shock, and noticed something.

There was a straight line, dividing the vanity table that seemed to start from where the broken mirror was cracked.

Ivana whispered something underneath her breath as Morgause came, freezing behind me, then entering the bathroom slowly. She stared at the glass and then back at me, a question clearly there.

I shrugged, confused. The mirror was completely fine when I was just here, and I did not touch or throw anything at it.

I glanced at it again, and the mirror fell, shattering completely.
