RP Chapter 33
RP Chapter 33
Shawn grabbed a hold of Kyle’s shirt and yanked him closer. “I swear, Kyle, she was your responsibility, you were supposed to keep her safe, you wonder why I don’t trust you with her, you didn’t keep her safe this time at all, you don’t even know where the hell she is.”
Kyle elbowed Shawn off of him. “We were blindsided this time, Shawn, you know I have kept her safe as much as possible, even all the other times we were blindsided, this was different, dude, and you know it.”
“But this time you didn’t, and even when we find her and get her back I am refusing to let anything more happen between you two, this is bull, you were supposed to keep her safe!”
Kyle groaned inwardly, Shawn was right, he was supposed to keep her safe and he failed this time, there was no telling where Kacey could have gone. “Track her phone, see if we can find her that way, as soon as she seen you guys show up or that I came out of the Jeep she would be in front of us.”
Donovan pulled out his high-tech tablet and began to go to work on the screen.
Kyle kept scanning the area as Donovan did his thing, praying Kacey would come running out of one of the buildings along the street or even one of the alleys. But no, no Kacey at all, he was going to beat himself up over this for the rest of his life. He should have insisted that Kacey stay behind, and he handled all of this. All it was really to deliver all of Donovan’s information back to AS and here he let her come and start to look at some of the paperwork already. God, he was an idiot.
“Kyle, her phone is still here, I pinpointed the location to the Jeep, it’s in the Jeep.”
Kyle hobbled hurriedly over to the Jeep even though he knew Kacey wasn’t in there. He began to get back into the wreckage and began to search. Sure, enough her phone was cracked lying on the trunk window. He let out a sigh, yeah whoever ambushed him and her took her, that was obvious now. He cursed and began to search for the vehicle again. The stack of paperwork and jump drives were lying in a neat pile fastened together underneath the seat she had been sitting in.
Well, that was a little bit of a plus, but who needed this crap when they had the most valuable asset. Kacey ’s mind. He gritted his teeth, whoever took her would surlily torment her until she gave into them and told them what they wanted to know. That memory would never leave her, hell the memory of almost losing him and the way he had looked when he came back home from being captured wouldn’t leave her mind. He sighed again and began to climb back out of the Jeep.
“They have to have her, they didn’t take any of this stuff, but they had to have taken her, if they have her they wouldn’t have need this stuff.” Kyle grumbled to his fellow agents and boss. He hung his head a little in defeat, how were they going to find her before the inevitable happened? He couldn’t give up on her though, he had to find her, bring her home and from this day forward keep her safe.
Cunningham made his way to Kyle and laid a hand on his shoulder. “She’ll be okay, Davenport, we’ll get her back, she won’t tell anyone anything either, we’ll find her before they even attempt to try to get any information out of her,” Cunningham squeezed. “Come on, let’s regroup at Alpha and see how we can figure out where she is, but we are going to find her, I promise.”
Kyle grumbled more but headed over to the SUV as Cunningham jumped on his phone and began to order a cleanup of the wreckage before it caused even more problems.

Kacey slowly came to, shaking her head, as her eyes became less blurry she looked around the dark room slowly. She couldn’t make out anything in the room. She had no clue where she was, who had taken her, why, and no way of knowing if Kyle was okay or not. She felt useless and defeated right now. But she knew if Kyle was okay then she would be found, one way or another. He wouldn’t give up on her just like she hadn’t given up on him many years ago.

Kyle was in the men’s bathroom attempting to clean the blood off of himself when the door opened quickly. If Kacey had seen this mess before she was taken, she surely thought he was dead.
“You know it might be easier just to go take a shower, bro.” The voice didn’t sound as angry as it had when they were in the middle of a wreck.
Kyle glanced above his shoulder in the mirror to meet brown eyes. “We don’t have the time, Shawn, I need to get out there and fine Kacey, you know she means the world to me, I failed her and you today, but I swear I’m going to get her back, I can’t lose her.”
Shawn smiled a little. “She felt the same way when you were overseas, she didn’t want to lose you and felt like she was failing you and me.”
“You’re still angry that we care for each other though.”
“I’d say you guys love each other, I saw the pain in your eyes when you realized she was really gone, saw the way you suppressed how much physical pain you were in to get back into that Jeep, look, Kyle, I know you told me your way of life in confidence, which is why I never told Kacey about it, but I’m not ay with thinking about it being my little sister over your knee, and you’ve done it already haven’t you?” Shawn ran a hand through his hair, messing it up a lot more than his own hair was.
“Not that I should be telling you but yes, a couple of times and she has a couple more coming also.” Kyle didn’t let his gaze waver from Shawn. “I know you don’t approve but she’s one some questionable things when this whole thing with Donny began, the reasons I am doing this is so she knows how to keep herself safe and that putting herself in harm’s way won’t be tolerated, Sawn, and to keep her attitude in check a little better, I wear the pants in our relationship and I’m doing all of this out of that love you spoke of.”
Shawn scowled as he ran both hands over his hair down to his neck. “And Kacey ’s okay with this? You’ve sat her down and talked to her about it all and she doesn’t care?”
“Oh, she cares, but she also knows it’s not to harm her and that I’ll never lay a hand on her out of anger, we’ve talked about that already too, but there are more important things we have to worry about, we need to find the woman who’s most important to both of us, she’s in trouble and we have to save her.” Kyle threw the wad of paper towels out then went to walk past Shawn.
Shawn grabbed his arm tightly before he made his way out of the bathroom. “Go take a shower, Kyle, don’t make me get Davis, you should change too, then we need to bandage that gash, Donny’s trying to figure out how to track Kacey.”
