Chapter 96 Chapter 96
\- KEEGAN -
I was still pretty mad at Jane for leaving me like that yesterday, but My whole life felt so much better now that Jane was with it. I felt so good and like I had a great achievement to have her as my mate. Now that she was completely mine, I was never going to let go of her.
Regardless of anyone's definition of love, I knew my feelings for her were nothing but true love. I wanted to cherish her till our last breath on earth.
The night I had with her was the best night of my life and it was so amazing to see my mark sitting prettily on her neck.
She and Rylee were sleeping after a crazy day yesterday, and just watching both of them made my heart feel swollen, a heart I never knew existed.
"Hey Alpha." Mason said and suddenly stopped in his tracks, smirking.
I was caught off guard because I was grinning so much like a weirdo when he walked into the balcony, so I shook my body and cleared my throat, trying to reach out for something till I realized I had nothing to hold. "What do you need?" I tried to regain my composure.
"Nothing, I just wanted to chill out on the balcony as well. He shrugged and walked into the balcony, leaning against the rail while sipping from his mug of coffee I only noticed. "Do you care for coffee?"
"Why not?"
"Okay, I already linked someone to grab coffee for you. She'll be here anytime soon." Just as he completed his sentence, a petite lady walked in with a tray of coffee and bowed her head.
"You coffee, Alpha."
"Thank you." I said and grabbed the mug.
They both stared at me with squinted eyes before she took her leave.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"You just told a maid 'thank you', that's such a great improvement." He smirked again.
I rolled my eyes and took a sip from my mug.
"So... with Jane being Luna and everything, doesn't it make you feel like a better person?"
"It obviously does. She's just too perfect for me, she knows the best. way to make me happy, even when she doesn't realize it, just watching her is enough to brighten my day. I can talk on and on about how amazing she is and how she makes me feel."
"That's really great, I'm happy for the man you're turning out to be. I knew what you needed in your life was a mate.
"What is that supposed to mean?" I frowned playfully..
"Nothing, just a mere observation." He chuckled then I chuckled as well.
We maintained silence, just sipping our coffee while gazing ahead of us. It was still strange to talk to someone else without having to give orders, so I wanted to prolong the conversation to consider Jane's idea of being friends with him.
"And how about your future pup?"
"It's growing really well and healthy. We're so excited to be parents." He beamed.
"I can't wait for Jane to carry my pup."
"Me too. The next Alpha would be so handsome or beautiful, and at least I know there's progress in that coming to fulfillment." He wiggled his eyebrows. Guess he was in a cheerful mood today.
"And how about you and Crystal, is everything good between you?"
"Good?" his face was suddenly filled with fear then he forced a smile. "S-sure, it is." He said and quickly resumed sipping his coffee.
Something was definitely wrong, but I wasn't certain whether or not I was supposed to ask him. What if he didn't want to talk about it?
'What if he needs a man to help him out? What's the harm in asking? 'Drex rolled his eyes at me. 'Our Luna suggested making friends with him to prevent such a boring life, just speak to him.'
"Are you certain everything's fine? Judging from this, something's definitely wrong."
His orbs were filled with fear again as he glanced at the widely opened balcony doors then back at me.
"Mr. Mason Kentwood, what is wrong?" I insisted.
He let out a harsh breath then dropped his mug on the table and walked to shut the doors. "Alpha, there's"
"You can call me Keegan if it'll make you feel comfortable."
"Yes, Keegan. So there's this big issue I'm trying to deal with. There was this one time, just this one teeny time that I had accidentally slept with a woman, Sabrina." My mouth literally fell at that. "I know it's crazy. It was just a really big mistake. I was so frustrated with life and everything around me, and I wasn't really interested in Crystal at the moment, but when I realized Crystal's worth, we finalized our mate bond and she had no idea about it, but it still doesn't change the fact that I had cheated on her.
"I really hoped it was going to be fine and all but to ruin it, Sabrina was obsessed with me and was very mad and broken that she wasn't my mate and was never going to be but had lost her virginity to me, so she vowed to destroy my life and never make me happy again. It felt like just words from her out of pain and I apologized multiple times. I even tried my best to match her with men that she could choose as her mate or appeal to the moon goddess, but she didn't agree. It felt unreal till she left for a really long time. I really thought it was all over, but after so many months or years, she finally started showing signs of her revenge, like her voice around me, marks with her name tag on it, and more signs of her.
"A few days ago, she returned completely, in person." I was so confused and felt like yelling at him so much but I wanted to know where it was heading to.
"Then what did Sabrina say a few days ago?" I was really holding in my anger.
"Now she's pushing me around and threatening me. I don't know how, but she's also involved in the Ardolfs issue. She seems so grim right now and is always acting very suspicious. She said she has information about the Ardolfs."
"The Ardolfs? What does she know about them?"
"She said she knows them pretty well and was about to show me where they lived but couldn't. She also said they're cooking up a big plan to destroy you in ways you won't imagine. They might have someone from our pack assisting the Ardolfs
"Who could it be?" I set my mug aside.
"I have no idea. Just when I wanted her to tell me more information about them, she changed the topic and said I should enjoy my time with Crystal while it lasts." He reminded me of the main point and raised my fury again.
"Mason, I'm highly disappointed in you. How the hell would you have cheated on Crystal? She's one of the nicest people I know and if you don't know it yet, you've taken the risk of ruining your entire marriage and the peace you ought to hold together. Have you told her the truth yet?
"I can't bring myself to."
"You have to. You need trust in order to not ruin your marriage even more."
"I know," he sighed.
I'm so disappointed, that was so unnecessary. I don't know how accidental it could've been, but all you could've done was try to think of the consequences and not destroy the relationship you have. Do you know how much it'll hurt her?"
"Please lower your voice " he glanced at the door and sighed. "I know it was very stupid of me, but I wasn't ready yet. I only realized
Crystal's worth a little later.
"You made such a terrible mistake."
"I know, please try to help me out with what to do.
"I think the best thing to do would be to let Crystal know."
"But I don't think I can." His eyes were filled with so much fear than I had ever seen. "I'm so scared of the outcome. Now that we're expecting our baby and Sabrina is back, it'll only make things worse. I'm really scared for the life of my baby, and I don't trust Sabrina at all. She's a very sick psycho."
"It'll be fine, we'll just have to find a way to work it out.”

"You and that dude, Casper, what's up with you?" Crystal asked, arranging a few things into the hospital's drawer-like thing. "Well... I don't know." I shrugged, staring at Ava who was typing to obviously this Evan guy and chuckling.
"What do you mean by you don't know? I watched how you were both being so lovey-dovey at the party? You were staring at him with such goofy eyes like you just wanted to kiss him all day. The both of you were so clingy and the way he was staring at you," she smirked, " I was just suspecting that you were going to be mated right on the spot."
"You think he was staring at me with admiration?" I wondered. "Yeah, duh, obviously." She rolled her eyes and stood in front of me.
That felt new to me. I couldn't describe what Casper felt for me because he didn't seem like the type of person to be super expressive about his feelings. He was always joking and teasing with his compliments, so I could never know when he was being serious. "How wouldn't you have noticed? I was just really happy for you."
"Wow."
"So what's the progress?"
"I don't know. We haven't said anything about liking each other. We just maintain the compliments while I blush all the time, make him lunch everyday, just want nothing but his attention. I don't really know how he feels about me. I know he likes or liked Jane, I don't know about it anymore. When she was away for vacation, we became closer and he doesn't really talk about her as much as before."
"Casper likes Jane? That's new news." She started tying her hair up.
"Yes, but I don't know about now. All I want is to know is what he thinks about me, but I don't know how to know what's in his head." I moaned. "It's simple." Ava finally removed her attention from her phone. " All you have to do is to let him know how much you really like him." "How will I possibly tell him I like him? It'll sound ridiculous." "No, it depends on how you present it. I told Evan I liked him and he just discovered a new light of hope in our relationship, now we're progressing really well." She shrugged.
"It sounds like a good move to me. Why don't you try it out?" Crystal added.
"Anyway, I have to leave now. When you're done, get out of my hospital and bring me something to eat. Make sure to pack extra because my beautiful baby would be hungry. I have to attend to a patient now. Bye." She waved and took her leave.
"You heard her. Let's get out of here and maybe grab lunch first."" I nudged her.
"Nope.' She rose to her feet, shoving her phone in her pants back pocket. "I have to meet Evan now, we have a date." She grinned, pulling her kinky hair into a high puff.
I didn't know why or what I was doing but since Casper wasn't on duty today, I decided to head over to his house. I swallowed hard before ringing the doorbell, clutching the bag of lunch in my sweaty hands really tight.
After a while, I heard clicking sounds from behind, then the door flung open and Casper walked out in only his singlet and shorts, wearing an unmatched pair of socks.
I chuckled at his socks then he chuckled too, scratching the back of his neck. "I wasn't expecting any visitors today, so..." "Is that a call for me to turn back?" I joked.
"No, no!" He shook his head and opened the door wider. "Come in please."
I grinned then walked into the building, taking a quick glance of the living room. It was very wide and fully furnished in gray and black themed sofas and interiors.
"This is cute." I commented.
"Thank you. Please have a seat," he extended his hand to one of the sofas and I sat on it while he sat beside me.
I dropped the bag on the table and cleared my throat. "It might seem weird, but I brought lunch for you here."
"No, there's nothing weird about it. I'm really hungry and was sad that I wasn't going to have your lunch today." He had a warm smile that felt like a laser melting me.
"Casper, I have something to say." I lifted my gaze to him, I could literally hear my heartbeat in my ears.
"Go on." His voice was very low and he was staring at my lips at short intervals.
"I don't want you to feel weird or anything, but I- I like you, Casper." I bit my lip after confessing.
He didn't respond to me and when I couldn't take the silence anymore, I proceeded to continue rambling, "You don't have to say anything. It shouldn't make us feel any different. I know you probably like someone else and it might be too soon for you, but I don't think I want to hold it in anymore. I really like you and if you don't feel the same way, you can-❞
I was cut off by his lips on mine. My eyes widened at first because of course I wasn't expecting it, but I shut my eyes to blend in with the pleasure that swam through it. My entire body was on fire as sparks from the kiss made tingles sprinkle down my spine.
I just dwelled in the pleasure of his kiss for a while till he broke it and I could feel the heat rushing up to my cheeks.
I couldn't bring myself to gaze into his eyes anymore. What did that mean? Did he like me back? What was going on?
"Well, I guess we can work this out. I think I feel the same way about you."
"Really?!" I grinned.
"Yeah," he scratched the back of his neck, also avoiding my gaze. It felt really awkward but this was the most amazing day of my life.
"Do you want to go on a run with me? My wolf would like to explore the woods with Gift." He finally gazed at me.
Gift was literally screaming. 'Finally!' she exclaimed and I just chuckled at her.
"Sure, we'd love to go on a run with you."
We both shifted to our wolves and headed into the forest for a run. It felt so great that he actually liked me and I just experienced a first kiss that made me feel on cloud nine.
It felt like a dream, so unreal, but I was glad that I could have something and someone that I really wanted for the first time in my life.
