I woke up to the throbbing pain in my neck. I glanced around but no one was around me. I was confused for a while till I remembered how Keegan pierced my skin last night.
I slipped into my nightdress and headed for the bathroom, not expecting to see him standing there in only his sweatpants, looking effortlessly hot with his disheveled hair. He seemed to have just finished brushing his teeth.
"Why'd you mark me? I didn't know it'd be that painful." I complained, and walked over to him.
"I apologize about that. I was just too lost and after last night, I wanted you to belong to me alone because you're perfect for me in all ways. So you don't consent to being marked by me?" he quirked an eyebrow.
I stood in front of the mirror and let my hand glide over it; it looked like a very pretty tattoo, so I shrugged. "It looks cute."
"Are you sure?" He asked, wrapping his arm around me and placed a kiss on the mark. I felt really tingly from his kiss and raises my mood.. "I asked a question."
"Of course, I don't mind being marked by you I feel really great to officially be your Luna. feels like a honor." I noticed relief flash in his amber eyes.
"I almost died when you fainted last night and had to call Crystal for help. She confirmed a few things and said it was just your body reacting out of shock for the new experience and most likely because you had just experienced terrible heat period reactions. I couldn't sleep overnight and was waiting for you to wake up.
"And how's the heat symptoms?" He asked.
I turned to him. "I still feel really tingly but not as terrible and hot as yesterday. Right now, I feel like eating you up at once but I can literally feel your length in me right now, so for now, nothing. My kegs still hurt from yesterday." I moaned in complaint.
A small frown rested on his face. "You brought it upon yourself. I said I didn't you to whine in complaint."
"Yes, but I loved every bit of it, so I don't regret anything." I nibbled on my lower lip and stood on my toes to pull him into a kiss. It was short, yet I made sure to savor the sweetness of his lips. I couldn't tell whether or not it was because of the mark, but I felt really excited towards him this morning, my whole thought were filled with joy and my heart was swelling with so much bliss just by staring at him and being this close to him. I pulled away abd pulled him into a hug.
"Jane, I'm so happy you cane into my life. I don't know what I'll have done without you. My whole life feels complete now and I never worry about anything. I'm so glad that I can see a brighter future with you in it and as Rylee suggested, I can't wait to see you carrying our little pups in your hands, I can't wait to watch us raise the next leader of the pack with so much love. I appreciate you for seeing me from a better point of view than others and taking your time to understand me. I love you so much and I've never been certain of anything else like this in my life. I want to fulfill your desires and watch you grow into the strong woman you are meant to be and I want the world to see you for the beautiful soul you possess, I want you to have every good thing you deserve in life, I deeply apologize for and want you to forget the pain you had to go through by being in my pack and for the stupid rules Mom made me and everyone else impose on you. I don't know how you could ever forgive me, but you did and I love you so much for that.
"My only fear is losing, not being able to be good enough for you, my fear is not being able to make you love me as much as I love you right now."
"Don't be silly. I appreciate you too and I'm glad you made me see the better version of you that I can feel comfortable with and be able to dive into this adventure of my life with you. Now let's head downstairs for breakfast, I'm so hungry, and because you didn't want to come to me sooner to ease me of my craziness, I haven't had anything to eat in approximately three days now, so I'm starving."
"I'm so sorry for keeping you waiting for so long." He pecked my lips. "I'll order breakfast for us." He said then got rid of his shorts and headed to the bathtub, not minding that I was still in the bathroom.
Keegan had left, so I was really bored and had no idea on what to do. I had been scrolling through my phone all day long but I still craved his attention, especially because I was still stuck in this duplex.
I tried mind linking Keegan, expecting it to take eternity before it worked, but to my surprise, I was able to connect with him immediately. 'Wow, that's new.'
'What's new?' he wondered.
'I tried mind-linking you and was able to do it immediately.'
'I'll assume it's either because your training was super effective or because of the mate bond, the mark; you're mine now completely, so of course, it shouldn't be hard to reach to me.'
"That's really great and such a relief for me.'
'Yes, I know. Do you need something? I'm trying to schedule a meeting with a few members of a new pack we're forming alliance with.'
'Oh, nothing much. I was just bored of staying here all alone. I know the effect of the heat must've washed out, so I'd like to head out now.
'Hang on, I'll confirm.' He paused then after a while, Crystal's voice was in my head.
'Good afternoon Alpha. Do you need anything?'
'Wow, so I can hear Crystal too. That's very new.'
'You can? That's good news. I'd let Roger know.'
'Hi. I'm currently attending to a patient. Is there an emergency?' Crystal asked, impatiently.
'can Jane head out now?
Her symptoms seemed to have washed away, so she can most likely head out but she just has to stay away from unmarked and unmated male werewolves because they'd be very attracted to her in this period.
'Jane, where would you like to head to? Please don't tell me it's one of these your weird strolls?'
'No, it's not.' I chuckled. 'I want to head back to the pack house and see Rylee.'
"Then I guess it's fine, wear tight clothing. Bye now.' I assumed she left the link.
'Bye Jane. Love you.' Whenever he confessed that he loved me, it made my head spin so much but I couldn't bring myself to reply to him. I knew I was very attracted to him and wanted to be with only him at all time and was looking forward to spending my life as his partner, I just hadn't confirmed whether I could call my feelings love yet.
I brushed it off and grabbed my phone. On the app Ava had introduced me to, I had read a few heat period tips and I knew I could try to conceal the smell with a perfume and wear really tight clothing as Crystal said. I did before heading out of the house.
I left the house and took a short walk to the pack house.
The moment I got in, I saw Rylee sitting beside the couch and sobbing with her head buried in her palms and a bucket and a mop was beside her.
Panic blazed in me as I ran to her and crouched. "What's wrong Rylee? Are you okay?"
"Jane!" she lifted her gaze to me and her emerald eyes were filled with so much tears. "You failed to keep your promise, you and Alpha Keegan; both of you promised that I won't work as an omega but I've been forced to work all day long. My tiny arms hurt so much and I just want to run away. Being here is very terrible. I was forced to head to the store on my own and everyone was so mean, not even a single person on the street and in this house was willing to help me. My life is terrible again." She sobbed.
"What the heck? Who made you do these chores?" My face was heated in fury.
She tried answering but was cut off by her sob. "Firstly, there was a woman, I think she's Mrs. Bea Sherlock, she found me sitting in Alpha Keegan's bedroom and forced me out. I explained that I was from a different pack and she took me to another woman, I think, Kate then they asked me so many questions and found out that I'm an omega. She was angry that I was sitting and I said I'm already a member of this pack. No matter how many times I explained that Alpha Keegan and Jane said I wasn't going to work, she forced me to and said Jane has no power at all.
"She also said Alpha Keegan implemented the laws and slapped me for trying to argue with her. I just want to run away again but the guards won't let me. Please send me out of the pack. I don't want to belong here anymore, everyone is way terrible." She wailed.
My head felt like it had been set on fire and I was drenched in rage as I jerked to my feet and pulled her with me.
As I was about to storm to Kate's room, was the perfect timing as she came out of the elevator.
"You!" I snapped and that made her flinch before she glanced at Rylee then back at me with a frown.
"Are you out of your mind? Why would you dare to serve as an obstacle in my movement?"
"I don't understand what your problem is with enslaving little children, but it has to end now. Rylee will not serve as an omega, and as the current Luna, I have the right to serve such an order and nobody, not even you, should go against it." I hollered at her and that drew attention of the few workers and the pack house members around.
She maintained silence for a while before she chuckled. "Current Luna? Jane, you don't seem to understand that you have no authority. You can't change the rule, you're just an ordinary omega and that's what you'll be forever."
"An ordinary omega? I'm the Luna if this pack, Kate Gray, stop trying to belittle me. It makes no sense at all and you're supposed to respect my decision." I didn't know where this courage woke up from, but I loved it.
She scoffed then walked away from me and left to have her seat while people muttered.
Rylee was hiding and quivering behind me. "I'll still have to work?" she whispered in dread.
"No sweetheart, you won't." I assured her.
'Hey Keegan,' I mind linked him.
'Hey sweetheart. You seem to be missing me so much more than normal. Didn't you just try to reach out to me a while ago?'
'I'm sorry about that, but it's important. Can you make an announcement to let the people living in the pack house know that Rylee wouldn't be doing any chores.'
'Did anyone try to make her do any chores?'
'Yes, your mother.'
"That woman.' I heard him groan. 'Fine, hang on.'
'Announcement, Rylee is a new pack member and regardless of whether or not her status is a high rank, she wouldn't be doing any chores. Anyone that disregards this will be our under serious torture as she's a very special person to your Luna and me. For future reference, let the new Luna impose whatever she thinks is right and no one should question her. Have a great day ahead.'
Rylee grinned. "That was so great! Wow, you're the best." She pulled me into a really tight hug.
I glanced at Kate whose face had reddened with so much infuriation and the other pack members mumbled to themselves, obviously regarding the fact that my request was acknowledged by their Alpha.' I proudly got into the elevator with Rylee to head to my bedroom. 'Hey Rylee. Keegan said in a joint link. We're so sorry about that. It won't happen again.' He apologized.
"Thank you. I'm so happy you're both in my life.' She linked us back.
'We're happy to have you too.' He chuckled then ended the link with her. 'Jane, you have to prepare for your next training session. I'll send someone to give you a guide. Since you're still on beat, you have to wait till it's over that means, you'll train at home, with a female.'
He clarified.
'Okay, no problem.'
'Bye. I have to go now.'
I suddenly started feeling strange again and the urge to have Keegan with me awoken.
I sighed and headed to bed to stop the feeling. I could sleep till the personal trainer got here.

I was once again in Red Hut bar, sipping on my glass of alcohol, trying to drench myself in my frustrations.
Keegan and Jane were getting really close and there wasn't anything I could do to end it.
What if I was supposed to give up on them already? But that made no sense, I still wanted Keegan.
I groaned and took two more chugs of my drink.
I gazed ahead of me and noticed Evan just a few seats away.
Since he was my chosen mate, What if the relationship was worth giving a try? He seemed to really need his mate. What if I could still try to accept him? I knew my parents and I wanted me to have Keegan at all cost, but there was no harm in having a second option, right? We could just be friends with benefits for a while till Keegan agreed to be mine.
I rose to my feet with my glass and sauntered over to him.
"Hi Evan." I waved and smiled at him for the first time.
"Oh, Scarlett, hi." His tone was emotionless and his expression was as blank as ever as he took a sip from his glass.
"Do you mind if I sit with you?" "Sure, why not?" His voice still didn't possess any emotion.
"So... I was thinking, since the moon goodness chose us to be mates and she knows best, why not give it a try?" I was smiling, expecting his face to light up with a grin, judging from how desperate he was to have me, but he shrugged.
"I don't know about that. Don't you want to be Alpha Keegan's mate at all cost?"
"I know I want to be, but the moon goodness knows best, so we can give it a shot."
"Scarlett, I don't think opportunities are that easy to have twice. I pleaded with you and begged you with my whole heart. I cast my life away just to chase after you but you kept yelling at me and abandoned me. I had been waiting for the day I found my mate my whole life with so much expectations but you just crushed it. Why'd you assume I'll remain so crazy about you for the rest of my life?" His voice was very cold.
"Wh-What do you mean?' I know it wouldn't be forever, that's why I'm asking you now-"
"Her, sorry I'm late." I was interrupted by a familiar tall and dark skinned woman that pulled the chair beside him to sit on it. "Beta
Scarlett?" She drew her eyes together in askance then glanced at Evan. "The both of you know each other?"
"No, we don't. I can't imagine she's your Beta. I thought she was just one of these desperate she-werewolves looking for who to capture in their claws." He finally smiled at her.
Of course, the woman -Ava, I think-was Jane's friend, that explained it all. It felt like Jane was just out to ruin my whole life.
She still stared at me, looking very perplexed. "I thought..."
"You don't have to bother about her. I was starting to get really worried when you didn't arrive on time. Can we just head to a different section?" he rose to his feet and extended ha hand to her.
"Uh... sure." She took his hand, still glancing at me with doubt.
"You look really great, darling." He placed a peck on her cheek. Her eyes widened with bliss and awe then he placed his hand on the small of her back to lead her away.
What the heck was that for? How could a man that was always so crazy about me just forget me like that and be with a new woman? This made no sense. Did that mean there was no hope for me at all? was my luck that terrible?
Since there was no hope in Evan anymore, I was now stuck with Keegan and he was going to be my only goal. I just had to take a very drastic step to have him as mine and I knew I had just the right move to get that bitch called Jane off my man with assistance from Shane and my parents.
