Chapter 55 Chapter 55
My phone began to chime from the nightstand. I dried my hand with a towel and tossed the towel aside before walking over to it and answered the video call from Chloe, sitting on the bed.
"Hey girl!" She chimed, wiggling her fingers at me." How are you?"
"I'm really good. It's nice to speak with you again. How are you as well?"
"Yes. I've just been a bit busy lately and it's been affecting my schedule so I've been unable to talk to you."
"Me too," I lied, not wanting to let her know that I had been missing to avoid drawing suspicions. "So how's everything at your pack?" I leaned back in one of Alpha's Keegan's pillows and the way his forest and lavender mixed scent filled my nostrils was both discomforting and satisfying.
"I've been really fine and great. I'm currently working really hard and with excessive training with masters in the journey, I'm really improving. Remember last time you were here and I had spoken about me practicing so I can be promoted to a higher level?" she asked and I nodded "Great! I've finally been able to practice more. It's been a really tough journey for me and my trainers, but it's finally heading in the right direction. My strength is improving and I'll be promoted to a higher level soon." She had a proud grin on as she spoke, taking a bar of what looked like digestive biscuits.
"I'm so happy for you. Though your life isn't as much of a mess as mine being an Omega, I'm still very happy for you to leave this level. I can't wait to know the position you'll take up." I replied, grinning.
"Thank you. And how about you... how's everything in your life?"
"Just the same old boring story of me with new problems popping up." I heaved a deep sigh, uncertain of whether or not I could let her know about my new family members I had discovered.
If Vladimir was Alpha Keegan's brother and I told Chloe, then she somehow managed to tell Vladimir, Keegan was definitely going to find out and it was going to ruin everything and it meant that I had failed in fulfilling a promise.
"Jane,' she called, interrupting me from my thoughts. "Do you realize I can see your face? Let me know what's on your head, what's bothering you?"
"N-nothing." Seriously? I just had to stutter right now.
"Come on, I can see your face. I know when something's wrong. What's the problem? Did Aloha Keegan do anything even more stupid.
"No..." I needed someone to confide in at least, "I mean, yes."
"Let me know what it is."
"The issue is that I'm supposed to... uh... I have this little thing I'm trying to embark on where I'll take my revenge on him and in order to get back at him, I'm supposed to be jovial and... uh... try to make him like me like, like me as his mate. However, I've just been very pissed off by him and I'm unable to hide it." I hoped I didn't spill too much.
"Okay? Any more details?" he had her forehead creased in puzzlement.
"Yes, I need to seduce him to make sure he wants only me." I nibbled on my lower lip.
"Jane, if you'd need to seduce him, you can still check out the tips in the book I'm certain you haven't read completely." She frowned at that. "If you need to go extreme, you can try the quick tip to wear something that's very revealing and make him lose his mind, then things can be done quickly. Avoid frowning at him as much as possible to not make him have a hint of your 'revenge," she air-quoted, "and most importantly, don't stop until you achieve your goal." she advised, pulling a straw to her lips to suck in an orange juice.
"Okay, noted." I nodded, writing it down in my phone notes so I didn't forget it, not like I was going to forget it anyway.
Just don't act angrily, be the sweetest soul to him, be very nice and flow with it. You know he's arrogant and if you watch his arrogance, you'll ruin things for yourself."
"I guess you're right."
"You don't have to guess, I'm always right with tips like this." She smirked while I playfully rolled my eyes. "You can't just make him yours by sitting like an old piece of sack. This time, you must read my seduction tips. I bet you didn't even open the book?" she asked.
"I actually did and only read a few of them, but now, I certainly will check them all out. If being the Luna will help me out then seducing him to get into his head would be a perfect opportunity to achieve what I want to achieve, right?"
"Exactly! That's my girl."
I chuckled again and heard Mrs. Bea calling for me. "I think my assistance is needed again downstairs." I grumbled.
"If only you had taken my advice earlier then you'd have had him wrapped around your finger till a stage when he'd have stopped you from doing these unnecessary chores. "
"I don't know about that, but these chores never seem like something they'll make me stop doing." I sighed. "I have to leave now."
"By the way, I have a big surprise for you coming up soon."
"Really? What's it?" my smile returned to my face.
"It won't be a surprise if I tell you now. Goodbye, I also have to go." She ended the call. "Hey! At least she could've given me a hint."

The omega had been acting a bit strange since she returned and didn't mention anything about her kidnappers. I didn't want to disturb her about it and the fact that she had pushed me away when I kissed her did hurt a bit, it made me feel like something had been snapped out of me, but I tried to be understanding. She had just come from a dangerous and probably scary encounter and I had been so stupid to just kiss her.
I had realized how important she was to me and now, all I wanted was to keep her close to me because now that she was back, my emotions were even more wild and I was feeling more attracted to her. Remembering her every minute brightened the path of hope I was walking towards and thinking about her never missed a chance to make me happy, it always made a weird form of exhilaration dance in me.
She knocked on my office door and I instructed her to come in.
With the tray of my mug of coffee in her hands, she sauntered to my desk and placed it on it. Asking her to bring this coffee to me was only an excuse to see her again and to confirm that she was safe and close to me.
"Thank you." I smiled at her. The fact that I was finally able to smile properly in front of someone without trying my best to hide it in order to prove to be cold made me feel really great and appreciate her even more.
"So... how are you?" I asked, not wanting her to leave yet. "I'm good, Alpha, thank you for asking." She replied with a small smile. I could feel a pop in my head that she finally smiled at me since she returned. "It's such a relief to see you smile again," I admitted.
"Yes, I apologize for the rudeness I might've caused from my attitude." She bowed her head.
"You don't have to bow your head." I grabbed the coffee and took a sip of it.
"Can I take my leave now, Alpha?" she asked.
"You can if you want to, I just feel really comfortable in your presence." I couldn't believe I was admitting it without feeling shameful or thinking my whole years of trying to be a cold-hearted Alpha was going to be flushed down the drain. "By the way, I heard about the attack on the pack.
How is it now? Is everyone safe?" she asked with creased eyebrows.
"Yes, everyone is safe. Everything's looking good right now. We've been able to assign more people to keep the pack in a healthy and safe state."
"That's such a relief." She sighed.
"I'm glad you care." I rose to my feet with the mug in my hand and stopped to just stare at her. Her face looked so gorgeous and happier, she looked like she was glowing and looked more healthy. I couldn't exactly describe the crazy emotions I was feeling but the fact that it was making excitement flow in my entire body made me want to never let go of her. I had never felt this happy in my whole life. It made me wonder what exactly she possessed that made me feel placated and thrilled.
'Alpha Keegan, please be ready for a meeting in the next few minutes.' Someone announced in my head and I cut it off when the person had confirmed I had heard him.
"That's so annoying." I hissed. "What's annoying? Me?" she asked with her eyes bugged out a little. It made my chest feel really tight, she looked way too - what was the perfect word for it - cute.
"How can you be annoying? You can be, but at least not right now." my voice was huskier while her brow was quirked upward. "I have a meeting. Please stay safe and try to avoid men..." the words rolled out of my mouth.
"Men?" she wondered.
"Yes. You can't be hanging around with men looking that good. If I feel this way, what if your beauty attracts other men as well?" I shrugged, taking a sip of my coffee. Her face flushed red in a second. "Uh... noted... I'll take my leave now." She fidgeted as she grabbed the tray and scurried out while a smirk played on my lips.
I chuckled. As much as I wanted to remain in the blissfulness of her presence, there were deeper things I had to attend to.
