Chapter 101 Chapter 101
~ MASON -
Mae and Crystal and Ava were all together, having normal talks I wasn't interested in, then they started talking about Jane being missing.
"It's so sad. I'm really worried for Jane." Mae sighed with her brows curved upwards and drawn together.
"Me too. Who knows where she is?" Ava replied and sighed.
"I really hope she's fine, I'm so scared for her right now. What if she isn't safe? Why aren't people doing anything to search for her?" Crystal glanced at me in askance.
"The guards have searched for her and are still doing so, but in a way, I think Alpha is mad that she left, probably after an argument, I heard him mutter to himself that why couldn't she just speak to him first." I contributed. "Keegan has just been acting so crazy and like the grumpy Alpha he was before he started his relationship with Jane."
"It's so disheartening." Mae sighed.
There was silence for a while till Mae started to speak, "Crystal, I saw a note with a black heart in your room. I know I've heard about these notes being related to the Ardolfs. I wanted to ask for a while now but didn't want to seem too forward; did you find it? Does it have anything to do with Jane being missing?"
"Oh, yeah, I also saw it, but I kept it aside to give it to Mason. I can't believe I forgot to do that. Hang on, I'll grab it." She rose to her feet and walked up to her drawer.
I was gazing at them in perplexion as she walked up to me and opened the note.
"What does it say?" I wondered.
Her eyebrows quirked. "It says 'Sabrina'." My heart immediately started beating fast. "Sabrina.... that name's very familiar." she squinted her eyes, gazing heavenward like she was trying to remember it.
"I have to go now, Evan is in town." Ava shoved her phone into her pocket and left the room.
Crystal started peering into my eyes while I did everything I could to avoid her gaze, trying my best to maintain a bold expression but the suspicious look in her eyes made me feel like she was sucking my soul out of me.
I sighed, locking my gaze with hers. "Fine, Sabrina is a woman from .uh...my past."
"Describe her." her voice was deeper than usual.
"She has long black hair and she acts kind of gothic." I tried not to stutter.
"Oh yes! I think I have an image of her in my head. I knew that name sounded familiar. What does she have to do with the Ardolfs? Why'd they send a note of her and place it in our bedroom?"
"I've also been wondering what she has to do with them because she keeps telling me she has information about them and-"
"Wait. She keeps telling you? Does that mean you've been meeting her recently?" Her forehead furrowed.
Gosh, why did I just blurt that out?
"I knew something was up with you and Sabrina back then. Tell me what it is now." she stepped closer.
Taking Keegan's advice to just tell her the truth, I explained all that happened between me and Sabrina in one breath "...Please Crystal, understand that it was accidental."
"Accidental? You fucking cheated on me and claim it's accidental?" she burst into tears.
"I love you so much, Crystal. I promise you it was never my intention." I tried to convince her.
"I'll give you two a moment." Mas said in a low voice and took her leave while Crystal sat on the chair, crying her eyes out.
"Please Crystal, just try to understand me. I love you now, not Sabrina." I held her shoulder.
"Then why are you still seeing her?!" She snapped, slapping my hand from her body.
"I have no relationship with her, she just has useful information for the pack and-"
"Shut up. Do you only care about the pack and not me? Is the pack more important than me? What the heck is your problem? Why'd you do this to me? Why'd you still associate yourself with her and not even bother to tell me? If I didn't ask, you definitely wouldn't have told me?"
"Please keep your voice down."
"Why? So other pack members won't see the terrible person you truly are? Because that's all you care about, to be such a perfect Gamma, not the good husband you ought to be!" She was already very sweaty.
"No, please. I don't want you to cause any harm to our baby by yelling. Of course, I care about you and want to be your perfect fit."
"Why don't you go to Sabrina and this? Because I'm certain you've also mentioned this to her!" She hollered.
"Please Crystal, try to understand me." I attempted to hold her hand, but she pushed my hands away from her again.
I knew Crystal all too well and in situations like this, the best thing to do was to always leave her alone. Though her cry was going to bother me, it was the only way she could be any calmer and relax.
I headed out of the room and shut the door, hearing her sobbing shattered my heart and it hurt that I couldn't do anything about it.
'So fucking stupid.' My wolf growled. 'Next time we meet Sabrina, we have to make sure to snap her head off to ensure that our mate never cries this much again over her again.'
It's my fault for cheating, not Sabrina's. If only I had just controlled myself, if only I had been more patient to let mine and Crystal's love grow... none of these would be happening.
I sat on the floor, resting against the door, painfully listening to her cries and cusses. I buried my head in my palm, filled with so much regret.
Something like a hand poked my shoulder. I ignored it, hoping the person was going to understand that I needed privacy and my wife's joy back.
The poking continued and I was forced to lift my head to the person. My frown worsened when it turned out to be Sabrina.
I jerked to my feet with glares darted at her and tensed jaws. "What the fuck are you doing here? Who the hell even lets you in?" "Mason honey, I get in in whatever way I can. That isn't important. Right now."
"Get out, now." I cut her off.
"No, not yet."
"Get the fuck out." I grabbed her arm to pull her away but she moaned.
"It's so amazing when you touch me."
"Have you lost your mind?!" I let go of her.
"Yes, my mind has been lost for you for so many years now." She was nibbling on her lower lip gently and it pissed me off even more.
"Just leave here before I lose my temper." I said through gritted teeth, my veins had popped out of my neck. My wolf was only a step away from bursting out and taking control which was going to be deadly because he hated Sabrina so much.
"I know where Jane is." She smiled and stepped closer to me, running her eyes over my body. "I can help you find her. I can even take you to her right now." She danced her fingers over my chest.
"I don't need your help with anything. You'll only place me in more trouble. Is it so hard for you t understand what I mean by getting the fuck out of my presence?"
"I'd love to, but I want to help you out. I'll tell you where Jane is and there's no condition attached, not any at all. I just really want to reward you for being the handsome piece of creation you are. If you're interested in knowing about her location, let me know."
JANE -
"We have to discuss this with you because it's very important." Mom said, holding me to lead me out of my room and to a door.
"Any hint about it?"
"Just a meeting." She pushed the door open and walked in.
To my surprise, Vladimir was in the room as well as Dad, Freya, two familiar hefty men from the day Freya had kidnapped me, and a few more people in familiar cloaks.
Their appearance alone scared me. The only people seated were Dad, Vlad and Freya, so the way the others towered around them was enough to startle me.
I swallowed hard as Mom shut the door.
"It's really fine. No one's here to harm you." She said with an encouraging smile.
As we resumed walking, my gaze was fixed on Vladimir. His face was very blank unlike the smile he always wore whenever he teased.
I had my seat and Mom did the same.
"So.... What's going on?" I asked.
"The point of this meeting is to finally exert the plan we've been cooking up for so many. "Dad started.
"You know how much Keegan has hurt you and all of us, especially after they killed our daughter and took our town from us?" He asked and I nodded.
"And remember you vowed to take your revenge?" Freya added.
"Yes please, just be straight with the point." Beating around the bush was making my heart beat faster in a very frustrating way.
"So now, we'd like to take our big move and plan an attack on Dark Stone pack." Dad said.
"Of course, we've been attacking them in bits, but this time, we'll have to do something very big that'll even affect Keegan himself."
"No." I retorted, shaking my head negatively.
"No? That man literally said he has no feelings for you. He only used you to have his revenge. Why won't you want to get back at him?" Vladimir said with a frown.
"Please Jane," Mom contributed. "We need to conquer him to take over Dark Stone pack. Blood must be shed, Keegan's power has to be crushed and he should be killed if possible."
"No way!" I exclaimed, my heart was pounding faster and my palms had gone sweaty. I didn't feel comfortable with such a gathering.
Though Keegan hurt me with his words and I had made a stupid vow, it still didn't mean I wanted him dead or wanted to destroy his pack. I still loved him, no matter how stupid it made me seem.
"Jane, don't be stubborn." Dad frowned.
"It wouldn't be right to kill him and attack his pack, affecting innocent lives." I frowned.
"Try to be reasonable!" Vladimir exclaimed, raising his voice at me for the first time.
I flinched but gained my boldness again and drew my eyebrows down and together. "You need to be reasonable. He's your brother. Why'd you go this far try to kill him? All for what?"
"Power, control, strength, revenge." His tone was so sinister that it made me scared and doubt if this was the same man I almost had feelings for. "Do you know what benefit it'll be for me to be the most powerful werewolf again?
"This isn't right. I have to-"I was cut off by one of the people in cloaks that walked up to me then his hand came over my head. Before I could do anything, he rubbed my head and it felt like a force overtook me my body, my mind, my decision, my soul, and my wolf.
I started to remember when Keegan murdered Jess, even in my nightmare, how he destroyed my family, how he took my virginity only to say he was pretending. All his good sides were suddenly locked up at the back of my mind and more of his terrible actions towards me and from Kate and other pack members, how they all treated me, they all crawled up to my proximate memory.
"They're all fucking terrible; they deserve to die!" I said with a frown, a strange rage was building up in me.
The man in the cloak let go of me and smiles of victory dangled on all their lips.
"That's more like it! We'll need your help, because you own a very powerful and unique wolf with a great gift. You'll have to work closely with us to destroy them." Vladimir said.
"It sounds great."
"That fucking bastard deserves to be killed!' Vera convinced me even more, her voice was laced with as much rage as I was filled with. Those monsters deserve to be killed for locking me up for so many years.'
"So here's the plan..." Dad started his explanation.
"Okay, bye "I waved at Vladimir.
"It was so good to meet you sweetheart." Vladimir's smile was back on his face and it made me blush again.
'He's such a damn handsome dude. Look at those crazy tattoos.' Vera chirped in. Were ones' wolves really this bugging?
"Yes, it was. Hope to see you soon." I grinned. "We definitely will now that we're both on the same side." He winked. "Maybe next time, our wolves can go on a run.' 'Definitely!' Vera exclaimed.
"Sure, we'd love to."
He got into his car. I waved at the car as he zoomed off, still gazing ahead till his car was out of sight.
Still smiling as I turned back, I let out a shriek as I bumped into Darion.
"Hey," he chuckled.
"What the heck? Did you intend to scare me?" I hit his chest.
"If scaring you brings you closer to me, then baby, I'll be ready to scare you all day." He ran his hand along my face.
I ought to feel tingles but his touch only made my mark burn so much and I pulled away.
"Okay, sorry about that. It's only a while till I'm your second chance mate then will be your king, a king to the Rogue Queen and queen of witches." His voice sounded a bit charming and actually made me feel tingles this time, so I smiled and nodded.
"Sure, I also can't wait to be your queen, my king." I chuckled and he did so too with a wink. It felt like his eye shot an arrow into my heart and made heat flush to my cheeks.
As I left his presence, I was grinning so much, the same force in me still felt dominant. Did I just agree to be Darion's queen? I didn't even know anything about him? But I now felt a strange attraction to him. The force also made me very convinced to destroy Keegan. Something was definitely not right, but why did everything feel so right?
