Chapter 100 Chapter 100
Vera? I called back to her and it felt like I could see her in my head as she nodded. Her voice was the most angelic sound because it was now much more clearer.
I let out a whimper when my bone cracked again. The pain was worse than being crushed with a truck. My entire body was in so much pain as my bones kept cracking and breaking.
"Let's take her in, she seems to be one of those with longer first shifts." Freya said and the man nodded.
I was screaming in so much pain when Mom, Dad, grandmother and a few other members of the rogue community came to help me out.
I was growling at them as they approached me and when the man tried to hold me, I pushed him really hard. "Let me go!"
A few more men gathered around me to grip me really tight and that made me scream even more as it worsened my pain. "Let me go!" I drew my lips into a snarl, whimpering from the intense torture.
They were able to dominate me and with cooperation, they carried me to my bedroom while my bones didn't stop cracking loudly, shifting its forms.
"This is the most terrible pain I've ever experienced in my life." I cried and Mom started rubbing against my body.
"It'll be fine. Just be calm."
I shook her hand off me as it only worsened the pain.
"I think it'll be best to let her be." Dad suggested.
"That's exactly what I was going to say." Grandmother added. " Some wolf's prefer to come first without any attention and disturbance." She said.
They all nodded in agreement and took their leave. That felt much better because the absence of anyone made me feel more at ease and less anxious.
The cracking went on for the next long minutes, almost an hour or maybe the pain just made it seem so; I felt my nails become longer and thicker. I could feel fur sprouting out of my skin and my bones reformed completely. The pain continued for even more minutes till I finally felt relieved and I was on all fours.
"Cara, do you have any...." Freya said as was walking in and her jaw dropped to the floor when she gazed at me. "Wow, this is so beautiful. I definitely knew she was blessed with such an amazing wolf." she quickly ran out, clearly to call others.
'Finally! It feels so good to be free!' Vera squealed and ran around the room in circles, sniffing everything. 'Everything feels and smells so amazing!'
Mom, Dad, Grandmother, Darion and Freya all returned to the room and their eyes were either filled with so much pride or awe to see my wolf.
"So this is how it feels to switch? I feel like I'm stuck in a wolf's body and mind in a damn amazing way!"
Vera didn't stop running at all, jumping over the bed and everything jumpable.
"If you're this excited to run around, you can do that outside so you don't break anything of great value." Dad suggested.
"Sure!" I exclaimed but it came out like a bark and they seemed to understand me because they smiled. I tried to control my wolf's movement and was able to as well.
"Okay, let's head out. I've been waiting for eternity to go on a run with you." Mom said and easily switched without hours of cracking and crying in pain.
Her wolf was the perfect blend of gray and white. As she advanced to me, I realized my work was taller than hers, or maybe that's what I thought.
I quickly headed out and followed Mom's lead into the forest.
The feeling of my paws against the floor felt so amazing and though I couldn't really see what my wolf looked like, her paws were very bright-colored and I was afraid it was going to be stained from mud or anything else.
"This is so cool!" I yelled at Vera, moving with a speed faster than I had ever moved. The smell of everything was much more heightened, or felt like I could hear something that was a thousand mile away and the sound of everything around me was louder, especially the breeze as I ran with Mom. I was quite faster than her but she seemed to still be having fun running with me so I cared less.
After running for a really long time, Vera was so thirsty so we decided to stop and Mom stopped too.
"Is anything wrong?"
"Yes, very thirsty." Vera replied as a bark in my stead.
"Okay, let's head to the river. Plus, you'd be able to see your wolf." Her voice was so cheerful then she started walking while I followed behind her, enjoying the amazing feeling of finally having my wolf.
We got to a river and Vera lowered her head to drink from the water. The drinking was also very different and new which also made me happy for some strange reasons.
When she had drunk to her stomach's satisfaction, she finally raised her head so we could see our beautiful fur.
I had a silver wolf, the fur looked like it glistened and had the most beautiful shimmering blue eyes. My wolf's eyes were literally glowing abd looked so fucking perfect.
I had heard that silver wolves were blessed or the moon goddess' children or something and since I had a silver wolf, that meant it had to be really special.
'Mother-'
"Just call me Mom.' I heard her chuckle.
I chuckled too. 'Sorry about that. My wolf is silver, does that mean I possess any kind of special ability?'
'Yes, you do. We might not know it yet but it'll be revealed soon. You wolf is a one in a billion type of wolf and you'll have to unseal your gift to your best capacity, especially against those terrible pack and their stupid Alpha. You'll have to use your ability to get your revenge.
I nodded my big wolf head and resumed running while Mom tried to catch up with me. I made sure to roll around, jump and climb over so many things and just explore so many new things in the best way I could and also had a little fight with Mom as a joke.
When we were both tired and the sky was getting darker, we ran back to the house and Mom switched to her wolf form, quickly slipping on a dress.
'How do I switch back now?' I asked her.
'Just imagine yourself human form and switch back.'
'okay!'
I imagined myself as human and was able to switch back to being me. It felt so strange to be naked and Mom threw a dress to me. I quickly wore the dress over me and it was super comfy.
"I have to attend to something. I'll be back soon." She smiled then took her leave.
When I walked in, I was surprised to see Vladimir speaking with Dad and they were laughing over something either of them had just said.
That's so strange. What relationship did Vladimir have with my family?
I headed over to them to just have a nice talk and try to figure out the point of his presence here.
KEEGAN -
As crazy as it may sound, it had been more than a week since Jane had been missing. I was both scared and very mad. If only she had just waited to speak to me, then whatever caused her to leave could've been resolved.
Now I had no idea of her whereabouts or what could be going on with her and it frustrated me. No matter how much I searched for her everywhere, there was no sign of her at all.
I had strained my ears so much to hear her but it was pointless.
"Alpha, should we need to arrange it in accordance with the previous arrangement?" One of the guards asked, interrupting me from my pool of thoughts, and for some reason, his presence pissed me off even more because he wasn't Jane.
"Juat do it how it ought to be and don't fucking frustrate me any further!" I barked at him.
"Sorry Alpha." He bowed and hurriedly took his leave.
I also returned inside because I was hungry and from the smell around, lunch was obviously ready.
A man bumped into me on my way. "Have you lost your eyesight?!" I hollered.
"I'm so sorry Alpha." He bowed.
I resumed storming away to head to the general dining table and had a seat beside Rylee.
She waved at me with a grin but my fury didn't permit me to return her grin so I waved back.
A few women served my food on my plate and the moment I took a spoon, a growl escaped my throat because it tasted nothing like what Jane would make.
"This tastes so terrible. Who the hell made this?" I yelled again.
The women quickly pointed at one of them.
"I-I did, Alp-Alpha." She stammered, bowing her head.
"Do you even have any experience in cooking? Who hired you? This is the most terrible meal I've ever had!" I rose to my feet, pushing the chair backwards.
"I'm sorry. You can try out-"
"No, I'm not interested in anything." I spat and started storming away.
Jane's absence was frustrating me so much and my pain was coming off in the form of fury.
I went straight to my room and collapsed on the bed. The pillow had Jane's scent and it made me groan.
There was a knock on my room door and when I wanted to yell for the person to get lost, the door was pushed open and Rylee shoved herself in.
"Can I come in?" she asked with a small smile.
"Just get out please. I need to be alone." My tone was much harsher than I expected.
Her brows curled into a frown and she sauntered to me regardless, pointing her small index finger at me. "Now listen to me, you've not been acting nice lately, you've been acting like a really mean Alpha and that wouldn't bring Jabe back or change anything except make more people hate you and make you seem like a monster to me!" she scolded.
I sat up straight with a sigh, realizing she was right. "I'm so sorry for yelling at you and for acting so mean lately," I apologized. "You have to make it up to me right now." She folded her arms across her chest with a pout that made her look so cute and finally brought a smile to my face.
"Fine, what do you want?"
"I'm so interested in the makeup items I've been seeing, so you have to apply makeup on my face." she suggested.
"Makeup? If that's what you want, then okay!" I chuckled.
"Yay!" she squealed. "I'll be right back." She ran out of the room and after a short while, she was back with a bag filled with makeup stuff. "Now apply it on me and make me look beautiful.
Because I had no makeup application sense, I made her look so terrible and of course, she didn't like the result, so I offered to take her to an actual makeup salon and also give her a pedicure as an extra.
"That'd be great! Thank you!" She pulled me into a hug. "I know you really miss Jane, we all do, but you have to be calm, okay?" She cupped my face.
I nodded, grateful for her mood-lifting spirit. "I'll try my best to be calm and less arrogant. We'll definitely find her soon. Now wash this makeup off and let's head out for a better one. It makes you look so scary.."
We both laughed and she left for the bathroom. I was just going to look for Jane with a calmer approach, maybe it could motivate the guards to be more interested in helping me find her.
