Chapter 25: If You Can't Get It, Destroy It!

Chapter 25: If You Can't Get It, Destroy It!

"Thanks!"

Rebecca clinked glasses and took a cautious sip. "I gotta head back to the dorm later. If they smell booze on me, it'll be a mess. Just one sip for me."

"Alright!"

Rebecca scrunched her nose and took a small sip, looking like she was enduring a challenge.

Dennis grinned and downed his drink in one gulp.

"Dennis, I'm leaving. Take care... I hope you find happiness."

Rebecca set down her glass and turned to leave.

Dennis's lazy voice called out behind her, "Becca, ever wonder why Uncle Frederick wants to marry you? Do you really think marrying him will make you happy?"

Rebecca paused mid-step.

Dennis continued, "Mr. Windsor could have any woman he wants. Why would he choose someone who got dumped, especially by his own nephew?"

Just moments ago, Rebecca was relieved that Dennis wasn't being difficult and they had parted on good terms. But now, his harsh words hit her hard.

Rebecca frowned and turned to face Dennis. "What are you getting at?"

"Nothing much..."

Dennis shrugged, looking indifferent. "Just reminding you, there's no such thing as a free lunch!"

Feeling he was being weird for no reason, Rebecca decided not to engage and walked away.

Dennis watched her leave with an intense gaze.

Once the door closed and she was out of sight, he glanced at the clock on the wall.

It had been less than five minutes since Rebecca took that sip.

Meaning the drug would kick in soon.

1, 2, 3...

Dennis's heart ticked like a pendulum. He didn't know how many counts it would take before someone burst into the room to tell him Rebecca was in trouble.

If luck was on her side, she might collapse in the parking lot and be picked up by some playboy from Empire City's elite circle.

If her luck was worse... Dennis clenched the glass in his hand, then suddenly raised it and smashed it against the wall.

If he couldn't have her, he'd destroy her!

If he could, he'd personally punish Rebecca, making her beg for life and death under him, thus compensating for his years of unrequited longing.

But she was marrying Frederick.

If he slept with Mrs. Windsor, even as his nephew, Frederick would kill him without hesitation.

What a shame!

The thought of that always lofty, god-like man becoming the laughingstock of Empire City's elite circle made Dennis feel vindicated.

Frederick was only three years older than him, yet he was a whole generation ahead.

Since childhood, Frederick was always the praised child, so excellent that everyone spoke of him with admiration.

As they grew older, the gap between them widened.

Frederick became the renowned Mr. Windsor, the king of Empire City's financial world.

And Dennis was the mud that wouldn't stick to the wall.

In business circles, only when he mentioned Mr. Windsor was his uncle did people give him a bit more respect.

Dennis hated this feeling!

And now, because of Rebecca, he finally had a chance to step on him!

Leaning back into the sofa, Dennis's eyes locked onto the ticking seconds hand of the clock.

Rebecca felt something was wrong as soon as she stepped out of the bar.

The biting cold wind hit her face, making her cheeks sting.

But inside, it felt like a fire was raging, making her want to strip off her jacket.

Dennis's comment to the waiter about "extra sugar" flashed through her mind, and Rebecca stopped, filled with disbelief.

A tingling sensation of pleasure started spreading, and Rebecca gritted her teeth. She walked towards the streetlight, pulled out her phone, and dialed a number.
