Chapter 181 Frederick is a Pest
Dinner was at a private kitchen restaurant near Empire University.
The moment they stepped into the private room, the servers started bringing out dishes.
By the time Rebecca finished wiping her hands with the hot towel, the large dining table was already packed full. Everything she saw was the kind of food she loved.
Her already rumbling stomach instantly felt even hungrier.
"Go ahead and eat..."
Frederick handed her the utensils. The server tactfully left the room.
Rebecca's face lit up with a bright smile. "Thank you!"
Frederick's eyes narrowed slightly.
"Becca!"
Frederick's voice gradually grew deeper. "This is Ethan's property. There are rooms on the first floor where you can rest."
Immediately on guard, Rebecca put on an innocent face, pretending nothing had happened. "Honey, aren't you hungry? Let's eat! After we finish, I still need to go back to the dorm to study."
Frederick fell silent.
Outside the window was the dazzling night scene of Empire City with its endless traffic.
Before them was a delicious dinner that looked, smelled, and tasted amazing.
Ignoring the strange way Frederick kept looking at her, Rebecca forced herself to stay calm and finished dinner.
The Maybach pulled up by the roadside at the Empire University entrance, close to ten o'clock.
Both seatbelts unbuckled at the same time. Before Rebecca could say, "Frederick, you don't need to walk me in," Frederick had already leaned over.
The previously spacious passenger seat suddenly felt cramped.
"Becca, it's already very late. Studying this late, are you sure you can actually focus? Early to bed, early to rise—that's when studying is most effective. Don't you think?"
"I think you have a point!"
"So, shall we go home?"
"No! I need to keep my word! Besides, even if I go to bed early and wake up early, I can sleep earlier and wake up earlier at the dorm!"
"But Becca, this isn't the first time you haven't kept your word. Breaking the rule one more time won't hurt. Don't you think?"
"When have I not kept my word?"
"You said you'd wear that necklace for me to see last week. Did you?"
"That was because of you, I, I..."
As if all his patience had been exhausted by talking for so long, before Rebecca could finish her defense, Frederick's kiss had already descended.
The temperature in the car gradually rose, accompanied by the occasional sounds of people talking and laughing as they passed by on the street.
Every time voices rang out, Rebecca would quickly bury her head in Frederick's arms, not daring to move, as if the passersby had X-ray vision and could see what they were doing.
A muffled laugh sounded. Rebecca looked up to see Frederick's face full of amusement.
"Becca..."
The fierce kiss suddenly became gentle. Frederick softly pecked at Rebecca's lips, once, then again. "With this little courage, how did you ever manage to tell me you wanted to be my girlfriend, hmm?"
The Rebecca who would shrink back just from calling out "Frederick," yet boldly said "Frederick, let's make a deal!"—and the Rebecca now in his arms who would melt like water from just a touch on her waist during a kiss—seemed like completely different people.
Knowing that teasing her further would only make things harder for himself, Frederick took several deep breaths to suppress the roaring beast in his heart, then tidied up Rebecca's hair and clothes.
"Study hard. Call me after your exam on Wednesday, and I'll come pick you up."
"Okay."
"Remember to miss me when you have time!"
"Okay..."
If someone had once told Rebecca that the iceberg-like Frederick was actually clingy in private, Rebecca definitely wouldn't have believed it.
But Rebecca never imagined that one day, she'd have the privilege of experiencing it firsthand!
