Chapter 180 Admired You for a Long Time
"Hey, which department are you in? Are you a senior or a grad student?"
"Hey—handsome, do you have a girlfriend? If not, would you like to go out with me?"
"Handsome, add me on Facebook!"
The tall girl was more reserved—clearly a senior.
The other two, arm in arm and eyes sparkling as they stared at Frederick, were obviously freshmen: bold and flirty.
The senior girl wore a wistful expression.
Rebecca suppressed a laugh, keeping her head down and eyes forward as she walked past them.
As they passed, she heard Frederick's deep, magnetic voice, "Sorry!"
Then Frederick called out loudly, "Rebecca!"
Weren't they supposed to pretend they didn't know each other?
Her scalp tingled. Rebecca turned around, startled.
Frederick's eyes were smiling as he strode forward with his long legs. "Rebecca—hi. I've admired you for a long time. Can we be friends?"
Rebecca fell silent.
"Handsome, Rebecca already has a boyfriend!"
"Yeah, she and her boyfriend are so sweet together; they're like the famous wishing wall at our school! Your information is way out of date!"
"You're not really from Empire University, are you?"
"What's the point? The point is, handsome, I'm not any worse than Rebecca. Whatever she has, I have too. And what she doesn't have, I might have as well."
Before the blunt underclassman could finish, she met Frederick's cold gaze.
Seeing the disdain in Frederick's eyes, the underclassman huffed and stomped off with her friend.
The senior looked at Frederick, then at Rebecca, and left reluctantly.
Frederick turned to Rebecca. "Can we be friends?"
"I'm afraid not."
Rebecca smiled sweetly, her voice soft and gentle. "I already have a boyfriend."
His heart ached. Those crescent-shaped, smiling eyes of hers made him want to pull her into his arms and kiss her hard—to tell her, "Becca, you're perfect like this. I love it."
Frederick's gaze deepened.
He had just stepped forward when Rebecca glanced back toward the school gate, then turned and ran. "My boyfriend should be here by now. I have to go. Bye."
Rebecca returned to her dorm to drop off her backpack, then headed to the gate where the Maybach waited by the road.
"Frederick, where are we going — for dinner?"
She opened the car door and slipped into the passenger seat. Before Rebecca could reach for her seatbelt, Frederick's arm wrapped around her waist and he kissed her.
It was rare to see Frederick so urgent outside of home.
Her eyes flicked to the silver-rimmed glasses still on his nose and to the desire in his gaze.
Rebecca's heart stirred. "I already told you I have a boyfriend. This isn't appropriate, is it?"
"It's fine."
Frederick slipped into the role; his dominant kiss moved from her lips to her ear. "It's just a boyfriend—you might break up someday. I'll be your backup!"
Rebecca pushed him away, her expression serious. "I'm already married. Sorry, but I'll have to disappoint you!"
The bright lenses made the desire in Frederick's eyes even clearer.
Rebecca's righteous rejection hit him like an arrow to the bullseye.
Frederick took off his glasses, tossed them aside, then pulled Rebecca's face toward him and kissed her. "I hope you'll be this good when I'm not around, too!"
As if, when he wasn't around, she'd accept some random senior's advances and cheat on him!
