Chapter 179 Digging Pits Ineffectively
As finals approached, the library became much more crowded than usual.
When Rebecca walked in, some boys and girls looked up at her, but they all just glanced once and naturally lowered their heads to continue reading.
Some girls smiled warmly and waved hello to Rebecca.
Rebecca smiled back politely.
In the already quiet library, when the rustling sound of turning pages paused for a moment, Rebecca instinctively turned around and saw Frederick walking in, just a few meters behind her.
Turning back around, she saw the girls' eyes light up with amazement.
Even though no one said anything, Rebecca could tell everyone was thinking the same thing: This hot guy is from Empire University? Why haven't we seen him before?
Ryan was the guy everyone agreed was good-looking.
But Ryan's handsomeness had more of a fresh, sunny, boyish quality.
Frederick's handsomeness, however, was deep and reserved—a kind of handsome that was uniquely Frederick's.
From his clothes and overall appearance, he could be a senior or maybe a graduate student.
Could he be a PhD student? That wasn't impossible either.
Behind his silver-rimmed glasses, his eyes were long and deep-set, with a steady, calm gaze when looking at people or things.
His whole presence radiated one word: cold.
Combined with his calm, handsome face, it gave an air of restrained, aloof charm.
Staring blankly, the girls' hearts pounded in their chests.
When they looked up again, he had already walked behind the bookshelves.
Through the scattered gaps, they could see Frederick's tall figure standing in the aisle, head slightly tilted back, as his gaze slid over the neatly arranged books on theshelves.
Even just the view of his back made hearts flutter.
If only they could date someone like Frederick...
The girls suddenly pulled their gazes away.
Rebecca had already found the books she needed and sat down in a corner spot.
Frederick casually pulled out a thick hardcover book from the shelf above his head and went to sit diagonally across from Rebecca.
The next moment, there was the sound of fabric rustling, and a pink notebook was placed in front of Frederick.
Frederick froze.
On the notebook, a line of neat, elegant handwriting read: [Hi there! What department are you in? Can I add you on Facebook?]
Rebecca grinned mischievously.
Then she saw Fredericktap his fingertip once on the table. . "Lend me a pen!"
Seeing the girl behind Frederick keep glancing back, Rebecca wiped the smile off her face. She opened her pencil case, took out a pen, and handed it to him.
She still had a slight smile on her face.
Frederick took out his phone and sent a message.
Her phone buzzed. Rebecca looked down and saw on the screen that Frederick had sent a Facebook message: [Becca, your little trap won't work!]
When she looked up again, Frederick had already quickly written something in the notebook.
[Study hard! Otherwise, please give your seat to someone who actually needs it!]
Rebecca turned her head and saw more and more people streaming in, craning their necks as they looked for seats.
She could see the girl who received the notebook, her eyes bright with anticipation.
After reading the message, her face immediately flushed with embarrassment.
Rebecca glanced at Frederick, smiled softly, and lowered her head to focus on her book.
When the table was tapped again, Rebecca looked up and saw Frederick looking at her, then glancing toward the window behind her.
Turning around, Rebecca fell silent.
Already? Was it already dark outside?
After taking out her phone and seeing the time on the screen, Rebecca quickly packed up her bag.
When Rebecca went to return her books to the shelf, Frederick was no longer in his seat.
Thinking they should keep some distance between them, Rebecca slowly walked toward the exit.
As she walked out of the library, she saw Frederick at the entrance, surrounded by several girls.
