Chapter 178 You Are Amazing
"Shameless?"
The two words slowly left his lips as Frederick looked at Rebecca with dark, heavy eyes. "Becca, so if I really had those thoughts, in your heart, I'd be a completely immoral person, right?"
She couldn't shake the feeling that Frederick was implying something more.
But for the moment, she couldn't quite figure out where the problem was.
All Rebecca knew was that the keyword ringing in her ears had absolutely nothing to do with Frederick.
"Anyway, I know you're not that kind of person."
Rebecca snuggled back into Frederick's arms, playing with his fingers. "You're wise and mighty, handsome and good-looking, and so understanding. You're the best husband in the whole world!"
Looking down, he could see Rebecca's mood had visibly improved.
Aside from her swollen eyes and reddened corners from crying too long, everything else seemed normal. She was much better than before.
That tightness in his chest wouldn't rise or fall, just stuck there, stuffy and blocked.
Frederick pressed his palm down hard, gripping her waist firmly.
Then he lowered his head and bit her earlobe. "Becca, one day you're going to pay for saying that!"
Pay for what?
What did she say wrong?
She'd said so many things—to her dad, to him—that Rebecca couldn't remember which sentence was problematic.
Before she could ask "what's wrong," the car came to a smooth stop.
Looking back, the main gate of Empire University was right in front of them.
Remembering she'd said she was going to the library this afternoon, Rebecca climbed out of Frederick's arms, smoothed her hair, and took a careful look at the ear he'd bitten. Seeing no mark left behind, she prepared to get out of the car.
Turning back, she saw Frederick following her out.
Rebecca reached out to push him back. "You should go back to the company. I can go by myself. When I'm done studying, I'll text you, and you can come pick me up."
"No need."
Frederick shook his head. "The library, right? I'll go with you!"
Rebecca's eyes widened as she looked Frederick up and down. "Mr. Windsor, are you sure you want to go to the library? Looking like this, the librarian will think you're some leader sent by the school for a surprise inspection. And besides..."
Rebecca's expression turned shy. "I officially announced us on the school forum. If you show up with me, there'll probably be more people taking secret photos than reading books."
Frederick was tall with long legs, wearing a custom-made black cashmere coat that fit better than an international male model on a poster.
Combined with those sharp, cold features, he stood out like a crane among chickens at a glance.
"Wait."
Dropping those two words, Frederick started taking off his coat.
Mike opened the trunk and pulled out a short black down jacket, handing it to Frederick.
He removed his tie, watch, and the obviously expensive cufflinks.
Using the rearview mirror, he messed up his neat hair a bit.
Then he took out a pair of silver-framed glasses and put them on.
In just a moment, the domineering CEO in custom everything had transformed into a cool, handsome senior student.
Rebecca was stunned speechless.
"Will this work?"
Seeing Rebecca's eyes light up with delight, looking completely mesmerized.
Frederick stepped forward and ruffled her hair. "Like this, can I sneak into the library with you?"
Her heart pounding, Rebecca blinked and nodded repeatedly.
Walking a few steps apart, the two headed toward the library one after the other.
"Frederick, I still don't know which university you graduated from."
"The Stellar University."
"Uh... the tuition at The Stellar University is pretty expensive, right?"
"No idea. I got a full scholarship every year."
"Get lost!"
"Becca, what did you say? The wind's too loud, I didn't hear you!"
"I said, you're amazing!"
