CHAPTER 16

As I opened my eyes to a hospital room, I can feel pain all over my body and I know I have gotten myself into another trouble. The memory of the accident flashed in my brain again, but I couldn’t recollect how long I have been here. I looked at the wall clock and it is 2 pm.

After some minutes, a female doctor entered with the guys following her close behind.

“oh my God” Kiki scream as she rushed to me

“she has to rest for some hours and undergo some tests also as we can only spot a cut on her head and it has been taken care of, but it is weird seeing her not seriously injured even after the car crashes in that manner,” the doctor said looking at me so confusedly “We will make sure she has enough rest” Fed replied the doctor.

The female doctor looked at me again and ask me a few questions before leaving the room leaving me and my friends.

“Norah” Bran said as his voice started getting fainted and water started to pile up in his eye I looked at Fed and Mathis and both of them carried very sad and pitiful looks. Probably sad for me and pity Bran but I don’t even want to care.

I remember the whole incident of Kyle wanting to sell my parent’s property and Bran keeping it away from me and I ended getting angrier than I ever thought “You all should leave please” I murmured

“really?” Mathis asked

“Fed please help me ask my time of discharge and pick me up by then please,” I said looking at Fed and waiting for him to say something.

“if that is what you want” Fed replied

Bran looked at me then at Fed and I can see anger written all over his face.

“bullshit,” Bran said as he went out of the room angrily.

Kiki looked at me and sent her a fake smile which she didn’t bother to reciprocate “I feel you are taking this too far and sincerely if you aren’t careful you might not be able to get anything done by yourself,” Kiki said turning away her gaze from me and before grabbing her phone on the bed and walk out.

I looked at both Fed and Mathis before rolling to the other side of the bed, covering my face with the pillow as I can’t describe my feelings right now. I still can’t get over the anger inside of me.

BRAN’S POV

“Bullshits” I yelled while making my way out of the hospital room I don’t understand why she can’t even trust me for once and now I am getting to understand how much she can’t count on me or believe my side of stories too. It is frustrating, damn.

I banged the car bonnet and started kicking the body in annoyance.

“Are you done now?” a very familiar voice of Kiki asked smiling “I want to be alone” I replied looking down as I don’t want to see the expression of disappointment that she might be carrying right now.

“yes, you will be but that is after I am done with what I want to say” Kiki replied

I looked up to her gesturing to me to just hear her out then I nodded in agreement “let’s help her in dealing with Kyle even though she is still in the hospital,” Kiki said and continue “that is the only way we can help her; we all can’t continue to be angry with her, but we can transfer our anger on Kyle instead” she concluded.

I turned away my eye from Kiki and stared into nothing in particular. I feel she is right, and if Kyle should be aware that Norah knows about his evil plans already, he might want to harm her or find an escape route.

“I think we have to strategize on this,” I said turning toward where Kiki was standing but she was nowhere to be found.

I turned towards the hospital entrance and I can see Fed and Mathis walking toward me. I decided to wait for them in the car as we really have to leave on time.

“where is Kiki” Mathis asked gazing around while Fed put on a curious expression “she left this place not too long, but I can’t recollect seeing her leaving” I explained “you must be a comedian. So, you mean you allowed her to keep walking on the lonely road at this time, right?” Fed lamented in a very angry tone as he grabs the car key from Mathis and jumped into the driver’s seat.

“easy bro,” I said telling her to drive easily

“fuck you” Fed replied as he ignites the car engine and zoom out of the hospital “Use your seat belt as it is very important in this operation catch up with Kiki” Mathis cracked a dry joke, but I only took the necessary part of the joke and continue with my thoughts and inner prayer as I can’t imagine anything bad happening to Kiki also, it will break Norah down the more.

……………………………………………………………………………………….

“stop the car” Mathis and I shouted as we looked ahead through the windscreen to see some sets of people rioting ahead of us “We have been driving for over 30 minutes now and nothing looked like Kiki yet, so what are you guys fucking telling me!!” Fed roared making Mathis and I to shiver in surprise and in the fear of the biggest calamity that might fall on us in the next few minutes “Stop the fucking car” Mathis yelled back at his brother After few seconds and few feet away from the riot, Fed stopped the car and placed his head on the steering “I am scared something might have happened to Kiki,” Fed said

“let’s be optimistic here” I replied with fear lining my voice “we will have to remain here till the fight is over?” Mathis asked and before we could reply a very bold male voice interrupted

“Get down from the car” the unknown guy using a mask and holding a gun in his right hand commanded.

The three of us exchange glances and raised our hands in the air before getting down.

“can I have the key to this car?” the man asked Fed quickly handed over the key to him and then he whistled to the rest as they started appearing from different angles before jumping into our car.

“We just get robbed?” Mathis questioned the obvious “We have to find our way home and let’s hope Kiki is safe” I suggested as there is nothing more we can do “I am physically and emotionally drained right now” Fed complained

…………………………………………………………………………..

I woke with mild aches all over my body, I opened my eye to realize I slept on the couch last night as well as Fed and Mathis. Mathis is still very deeply asleep, but Fed is awake pressing his phone.

“Dude, what is the time” I asked “7:30” he replied

“wake up man, we have a lot to do today,” I said turning to Mathis and tapping him simultaneously.

“is okay guy” Mathis replied as he opened his eye

“Any idea?” I asked “We have to quickly check on Norah, but on our way to the hospital we are going to branch Kiki’s place” Fed suggested while Mathis nodded in agreement “what about Kyle?” Mathis asked looking worried “We really have to find a way to stop him,” I said “How can we do that?” Fed asked “Let’s prevent him from knowing what happened to Norah first and we won’t let him know that Norah knew about his plots already” I explained while others nodded.

“Now can we quickly get ready for the day,” Mathis said in form of a question while we get back on our feet to start preparing for the very long day ahead.

………………………………………………………………………………..

“Kiki!!” we called out in sync but still no reply It has been 10 minutes since we got here, and we can’t find any traces of Kiki around not even her fingerprint on the door.

“She might be in the hospital” Fed suggested as we start heading back to the car I dialed her number on the way to the hospital, but it wasn’t reachable “Her number isn’t reachable,” I said now getting worried “Try tracking her phone location which might probably be her location too” Fed suggested I tracked into her address using IP but the location I am getting here is that of a nearby forest but river to be precise.

“location here is of a river in a forest as I can see here,” I said Fed pulled up in the hospital parking lot making me not to get an answer as they quickly jumped out of the car including me following close behind.

We went straight into Norah’s ward, but we found her bed empty. The feelings of emptiness, sadness, and fear flow down my spine and I can feel my blood pressure going up then I know I have to brace myself up if I don’t want to pass out. I started regulating my breath and after doing that for a few seconds I can breathe normally again.

I looked at Fed and I can see the visible multiple lines of tears flowing down his cheek while he sits on the floor making me remember I am sitting on the floor myself. I turned to Mathis on my right who looked so cold, worried, and still sad and I can conclude we all have the same overwhelming thoughts.
