CHAPTER 15
“We are in the dining room,” they all said in sync It is already the last day of the exam and I can say I can’t wait to get it done. I just woke up from my afternoon sleep since we returned from school and looking at the surrounding it must already be 7 pm.
“Did I sleep for this long?” I asked as I entered the kitchen to see Fed and Kiki cooking while Mathis and Bran sat on the Kitchen Island.
“We should ask you that” Fed and Mathis replied “Hey twins, don’t let me spank your flat asses” I teased while everyone laughed “Who is interested in the After Classes Party” Mathis asked while the rest of us looked so confused “What is that again?” Bran asked beating the rest of us to it “Oh, you guys didn’t check the class telegram group?” Mathis asked looking disappointed “Don’t be like that brother, tell us the real thing” Fed said gesturing to his brother to speak up “Joe organized the party and that is the name for it, it is going to be in his house also it is for everyone in our class” Mathis explained “Who the fuck is Joe?” I asked while Kiki nodded “These folks don’t know Joe,” Bran said and burst into laughter “If you aren’t going to give us the detail about it then we are out” Kiki finalized as their laughter is getting annoying “Okay okay, Joe is the son of the biggest Mafia Lord in this city and he is in our grade too” Fed explained “He doesn’t come to school always, so it is possible you don’t see him around” Mathis added “Alright then” I replied while I started making my way back upstairs Yes, upstairs. I am staying in Bran’s room while Kiki is staying in Kia’s room since he isn’t around. Bran has been so sweet lately but that never stops us from studying hard and we are still on NO ADULT THINGS so we only hug and peck for now.
I entered the room and I decided to change into a hoodie or big cardigan as it is getting colder outside which reminded me that Christmas is approaching. I went to Bran’s closet to pick his orange color hoodie as it has always been my favorite of his hoodies and I will love to even have it.
“Food is ready” Kiki shouted from downstairs
I quickly unplugged my phone and rushed downstairs. I want the largest portion of food, being a foodie, so I want to be the one to serve everyone.
“Let me do the serving,” I said trying to stop Bran from serving the food “As your lordship pleases” he replied gesturing to me to come over while I smiled from the corner of my lips.
I was digging in my food and also scrolling through Twitter and fuck I have missed a lot of hot jokes here. I was still on that when my phone came up “There will be training after your exam tomorrow” Coach Becca said from the other side “Alright ma’am” I replied to her before the call dropped “Coach?” Bran asked
“When I don’t even have my swimsuit here” I lamented
“We can get it for you tomorrow” Kiki assured me
After finishing my food, I put more on my plate and still finished it. Bran and I offered to pack the plates to the kitchen while Kiki decided to set the dining table and chairs back.
“You know the guy with the mask at the werewolves’ hideout still seem extremely familiar to me,” Bran said as he dropped the plate in the sink “you said “mask” meaning we can’t see his face so how is he now familiar again?” I asked putting the plates in the sink too while Bran reach for the sponge and soap “His physique looks like as seen him before just can’t recollect” Bran replied as I turn on the tap while he leans back on the cabinet.
“Why on earth is the dishwasher not even okay again?” I asked trying to change the topic “we will have it fixed madam” Bran replied
I was washing the dishes while Bran was rinsing them. After we were done with the dishes, we returned to the sitting room to meet others who are now watching a program on the local television station.
I dipped my hands into the hoodie pocket as I am getting colder now then my hand touched a paper which seems it was folded. I brought out the paper and I started playing with it, unfolding it, and making it into different patterns until I got tired and decided to go and sleep.
“I will be off to bed now,” I said standing up from the couch while everyone turned to my direction with disappointment “you woke up not long now,” Kiki said looking at me with confusion “Yes, but I am tired, I have to rest,” I said before I started making my way up the stairs After getting to Bran’s room, I realized I still have the paper in my hand, so I opened the paper flat realizing something was printed on it.
“Did I just spoil one of Bran’s documents?” I asked myself as my body started shaking Go see for yourself I turned on the study light and I was surprised at the printed words in front of me.
“WILLIAMS OIL AND GAS” I started reading.
“Purchase Agreement”
I quickly read through and I can see the seller writing as Packer Kyle. I looked further to see his signature and that of the buyer.
“What this can’t be” I whispered to myself
I wondered how on earth Kyle will want to sell of my Father’s property but also who did this get into Bran’s hoodie pocket “How the hell….” I yelled and turned back to go and avenge my anger on Bran when he appeared right at my front “Babe let me explain” he pleaded looking so sympathetic “Spare me that look” I yelled again and now I can say I am really angry
“I don’t fucking know about this!” Bran also yelled back as the look on his face quickly turned cold “You have this with you, and you are keeping it away from me,” I said as I can feel tears piling up in my eye “Is this your love? do you know what this property meant to my parents and me?” I screamed at him once again before heading to where I have my bag and stuff in my few clothes that are in his closet.
“What are you doing?” Bran asked moving closer to me “if you come near me and I don’t rip your head off, call me a fucking bastard” I screamed making him to stop at once
I carried my bag and walked past him leaving him and I was a little frightened seeing Kiki, Fed, and Mathis at the door. I pushed Fed out of the way anyways and started going down the stairs “it is late Norah, please it is dangerous” I can hear Bran shouting as he started following me down while others keep on looking not knowing what to say or do, and even Kiki
“Good night Winston fucking Bran” I replied angrily shutting the door behind him while I hear him screamed in pain.
“You just broke my head Norah” Bran cried out while I can hear the sounds of steps rushing towards the door which shows I banged the door on his head, and I hope it doesn’t hurt him so bad.
I started walking along the street, I forgot to collect the car Key from Kiki and I didn’t want to enter that house, so I decided to order a night Uber and keep walking till the Uber arrives.
I have spent ten minutes on the road and the Uber isn’t even here yet, I take out my phone and placed a call to Coach, I explained everything that happened. I didn’t stop anyway until I started hearing rustling in the bush by the roadside. I started walking as fast as I can even though I am still really angry and if I meet Kyle at home, I am going to cut his head off.
“Hey lady,” a voice said, and I looked up to see a very tall guy in blonde which looks like he must be in his early twenties approaching me.
“Hey, don’t move any closer to me,” I said not wanting to look frightened
“And what if I do” he replied as he continues walking towards me I started developing very cold feet and I know I am doomed tonight.
“Norah, right?” another voice asked, and I looked around to see a very neat Venza parked beside me.
I looked at the guy who is just a few feet away from me with happiness all over my face while he looked so angry and disappointed. I looked back at the Uber driver and nodded before entering the car and after settling in the car I started feeling calm and my heartbeat returned to normal.
I put on my ear pod and started listening to LOVE THE WAY YOU LIE by Rihanna listening to every line of the song. I was still doing this when I felt the car crashing into something and before I could remove my ear pod and see what is happening well, the car got hit again and my heart started racing as I can feel liquid streaming down my head and then everything started getting so blurry that it later went blank.
