Chapter Nineteen — An Ally

Megan’s POV:

The first time I met Irene I hated her, I hated everything about her and I just knew there was something weird going on between her and Will after he whispered her name when she barged in on us. I decided to play along but I dug out all the details about her and kept monitoring her.

Will couldn’t stop staring at her all through the meeting as she presented for our clients and this made me all shades of angry. I also noticed how another guy was talking to her after the meeting It seemed like he was interested in her and indeed he was. I was able to ask him when I confirmed Will and Irene were both at their offices. I told him I know he likes her and that he should make up stuff to make her angry at Will and jealous so she would back off and I assured him I would do the same, I was scared he would call me crazy and ignore me but to my surprise he didn’t. He loved the idea and how he now had an ally so he agreed immediately.

And I’m glad I made an ally with him, he turned out to be very useful and called me right after he noticed Irene got called by Will while he was in her office. I rushed down to Will’s office immediately and thankfully the secretary wasn’t around to tell me he was busy.

I stayed by the door and heard all he said and it hurt me, not like I didn’t know all this before. I knew everything so well, but I was hurt by the fact that the Will whose heart was so hard to crack was now in love with another woman. A woman I hated so much. It hurt me and hurt even more when she walked out of his office and acted like she didn’t see me crying. Will didn’t know I was by the door and heard everything and I wasn’t going to let him know I did so I pretended and walked in crying to prevent him from telling me he was in love with another woman. There’s no way I could let that happen so I came up with a lie quickly and increased my tears, I’m glad he was foolish enough to believe me and held back from talking.

I don’t know whatever the Davis guy did but he’s so good at manipulating people into doing what he wants. Will suddenly called me and asked me to get dressed for dinner, it was right after work and I was tired but I didn’t mind. I got dressed immediately and waited for him to come pick me.

I thought he was acting really weird at the restaurant. He kept staring at the door and eating really slowly. It wasn’t until Davis showed up with the Irene girl I knew what was going on. He wasn’t at the restaurant because of me. It was all because of her. He even tried making her jealous by spoon feeding me. They are both such fools. I had stomach cramps and wanted to leave but I couldn’t bring myself to tell him so he wouldn’t think I spoilt his plans and be mad at me. Even when we were done with dinner he kept asking for more food and drinks just so he could stay longer and see all Irene was doing with Davis.

I got home feeling angry and thinking of all the ways to ruin that Irene girl and Make Will hate her but I couldn’t so I texted Davis to up his game because Will was planning to talk to Irene. And he did up his game to the highest because here I was standing beside Will and announcing our engagement to the world. Even the press was around I didn’t let Will know and called a couple of them in. Now nothing could break us apart.

“Wait, why’s the press here?” he asked.

“I have no idea, I guess somebody must have let them in” I replied and acted very clueless. I just had to keep pretending to be the loving girlfriend till we were married and I was sure he was mine.

“Oh, well. This just makes everything better” he scoffed.

“I guess” I replied.
