Chapter Twenty — Boiling with Rage

Davis’s POV:

I have always believed in fate. It always brings the right people to me at the right time like it did with Megan. I was wondering what she possibly wanted to talk to me about when she asked to see me and then she said everything I never imagined I would hear. She had just the perfect idea and it turns out all I needed was a push to do the things that could get me all I wanted.

Everything was going perfectly planned. The look on Irene’s face when I told her I saw Megan and Mark kissing was priceless. Her face went pale and this made me so happy. I wanted her to hate him so much.

Mark always had a thing with getting all he wanted. This is one thing I would make sure he never gets his hands on. I’ve always low-key hated him. My Dad just wouldn’t stop talking about him and comparing me to him. He even goes as far talking about how Mark Will is a CEO at such a young age, As if, if he had his own company I wouldn’t also be CEO and not just an executive at his friends Company.

I was the happiest I had ever been when Megan texted me that they were announcing their engagement, I guess my gas-lighting of Making Mark Will think Irene said Yes to me worked. I didn’t go to Irene or even the engagement venue and waited for her to call me. I knew she would be too heartbroken and be desperate for someone and just as I expected. She called me and asked that we see.

Immediately I got to her office she held my hand and asked me to come with her and to my greatest surprise she kissed me once she saw we were close to where Mark Will and Megan were standing. I was enjoying every bit of the moment and couldn’t wait to see the look on mark’s face.

After a few seconds she let go and stared and me then goes ahead to raise her voice and say “I love you Davis"

“I love you more” I replied.

Turned to see not only Will was looking but everyone that was around us. It felt good. It’s been a while since I felt this way. I’m glad my plan as worked out well so far.

“What was that about?” I asked Irene as soon as we got to her office.

“Nothing, I just had this urge to kiss someone and tell them I loved them” She replied. She’s such a foolish liar.

“Oh. Well I really liked it and I think it’s time I tell you how I really feel” I said. I noticed the horrifying look on her face and this made me really angry, did she hate me that much. Well I don’t care I would work on that after she’s mine officially.

“I love you Irene, so much, and that kiss made me feel all sorts of things, things I’ve never felt before. Be my girlfriend please. Please say yes” I said calmly.

She paused and scoffed “Look I’m sorry if I led you on with that kiss but I do not have any sort of feeling for you, I mean not in the type of way you want me to. I only see you as a friend, I’m sorry” she said.

I was boiling with rage. Was that useless Mark Will guy that special, so she loved him that much? Well, I don’t even care. I would never let them happen. Since she has made it clear she doesn’t like me I have to help Megan come up with ways to make sure her engagement with Mark will holds.
