Chapter 96 Chapter 47
Chapter 96 Chapter 47
Lhalhaine was in a coffee shop, sitting across from Mari. Yes, she had been her doctor when she was still pregnant with Throne. The woman had helped her a lot because she never treated her as just another patient, but almost like a friend.
She was also the one who had told her about Tyeron. When Mari asked who the father of her child was, she had mistakenly assumed it was Mikael. Lhalhaine could still remember the woman's reaction, as if she couldn't believe what she had just learned.
It wasn't a secret to her that Mikael and Mari seemed to have feelings for each other. Back then, she had even noticed how Mikael always made an effort to accompany her to every checkup, even when it wasn't necessary. The only sad part was that Mari was already married. Still, Lhalhaine couldn't shake the feeling that the woman wasn't happy in her marriage. Even if she wanted to ask, she couldn't. She would simply let time tell the story itself.
She blinked when someone gently touched her hand on the table.
"Don't worry too much. Tyeron's memory will come back, Lyn. Just don't give up on him," Mari said gently.
She nodded. "Thank you for listening to me and not leaving my side. I'm always being dramatic with you. I'm sorry... My life feels like a never-ending drama episode," she said shyly.
The woman chuckled softly. "No, it's okay. I'm happy because I finally have someone I can bond with. You know what, Lyn? You're the first friend I've ever had."
She smiled back. "Thank you, Mari."
When evening came, she was able to go home early because there weren't many customers at the café, and she had nothing else to do at the hotel.
She went straight to her sister Lara's house, where she had left Throne. The moment she stepped out of the car, one of Lara's nannies greeted her.
"Please go to the garden, straight ahead, Ma'am Lhalhaine. Ma'am Lara and the kids are there," the nanny said respectfully.
She smiled at the woman. "Thank you."
She expected to find Lara, the children, and the nannies in the garden, but she stopped in her tracks when she saw a father and son happily playing together.
Yes, Tyeron and Throne were there.
Throne was riding on Tyeron's back while he pretended to be a horse. The garden echoed with their son's cheerful laughter.
She hadn't realized it until that moment, but something deep inside her heart stirred at the sight.
She wanted to quietly go inside so she wouldn't disturb them, but it was already too late.
Tyeron had seen her.
He carefully lowered Throne to the ground before looking at her with a serious expression.
As he walked closer, his brows furrowed.
"Did you cry? Why?" he asked.
She touched her damp cheek and forced out a laugh to hide her feelings.
"Hahaha... I must've gotten something in my eye. Sorry."
She instinctively stepped back when he gently held her waist and looked into her eyes.
She swallowed hard as her heart began pounding wildly.
"I don't know why, but I don't want to see you cry. It hurts me too, so please don't. You deserve to be happy, not sad," he whispered seriously as he wiped away the tears on her cheek.
That only made her cry even harder.
She missed him so much.
She missed the way he cared for her, his hugs, and his kisses.
Unable to hold herself back, she wrapped her arms around him and buried her face against his chest.
He didn't complain.
Instead, he simply stroked her hair.
"Shhh... Don't cry. Everything will be fine. I'm here," he soothed.
She closed her eyes and, after a long moment, slowly let him go.
"Thank you," she whispered, bowing her head in gratitude.
Instead of answering, the man picked up Throne.
"I'll take you both home," he said seriously.
As if she had any other choice, she simply nodded.
Even though she had driven there herself, she didn't refuse.
She wanted to spend a little more time with him.
When they reached the parking lot, he opened the front passenger door for her.
She stepped closer.
"Let me carry him," she said softly.
"Get in first," he ordered.
She obeyed immediately.
Once she was seated, he leaned inside the car and carefully placed Throne on her lap.
She could still smell the familiar scent of the man she had once been hopelessly in love with.
Their faces were only inches apart, his body almost surrounding hers.
For a moment, she wanted to pull him closer and hug him again.
But she couldn't.
Once Throne was settled comfortably on her lap, she noticed that he was already asleep.
No wonder he hadn't complained.
She smiled softly.
Her child was so adorable.
When he slept, he looked exactly like Tyeron.
The car drove off, and silence settled between them until...
"Can I ask you something?"
She looked at him in surprise.
"Hmm... okay," she answered hesitantly.
"I know it's personal, but can I ask about Throne's father? Where is he now? Are you two married? If not... then what exactly is your relationship with Mikael?"
One question came after another.
She stared at him, wanting to ask why he suddenly wanted to know, but she chose to remain silent instead.
When they stopped at a traffic light, he glanced at her.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked that," he said quietly after noticing her silence.
"No, it's okay," she replied with a small smile.
"Throne's father is..."
You, Tyeron.
You are Throne's father.
Our son.
She wanted to say the words.
But she couldn't.
A loud honk startled her.
"Is who?" Tyeron asked as he stepped on the gas again.
"He's... someone I love the most. I can't tell you his name yet. Maybe when the time is right. I'm sorry," she explained softly, lowering her head because she couldn't bear to look at him.
The man fell silent.
Then, after a moment, he asked again.
"Where is he now?"
She parted her lips, but no words came out.
She looked away and took a deep breath.
"He's out there somewhere... If you're asking why... I can't give you an answer," she replied gently.
Silence filled the car once more.
Without realizing it, he stole another glance at her.
How long can I endure not embracing you? How long can I keep the truth from you? How much longer do I have to endure this, Tyeron? Please... come back to me already, she whispered silently in her heart.
"You're crying again. Is it because of him?" he asked, his brows knitting together.
She blinked and quickly looked away.
"No... I just got something in my eye," she whispered.
She looked up when he gently took her hand.
"I don't know what kind of pain you're carrying right now, but I just want you to know... don't give up. If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm right here. Please don't cry, Lyn," Tyeron said softly.
To her surprise, she could only smile through her tears.
"Thank you."
He simply smiled back.
She found herself staring at him for a long time, while her heart silently screamed the words she could never say aloud.
Even if your mind doesn't remember me... maybe your heart still does.
I hope it never forgets.
Because I miss you so much, my love.
