Chapter 87 Chapter 38
Chapter 87 Chapter 38
Tyeron glanced at his friend, Cyrex. He was smiling while standing by the side near the pilot's seat. With him were Mikael, who was deep in thought, and Heckson, who was sitting upright.
"What's the matter with him?" he asked Heckson in surprise.
It seemed like Heckson was the only one he could talk to properly.
Heckson shrugged. "I don't know," he replied, turning his gaze back outside.
In a moment, they would be in Manila. Once they got off, they would board another flight heading to Nevada. Thinking about leaving Lhalhaine, even if only temporarily, made him feel sad, so he rubbed his face.
"How many days do we need to accomplish the mission in Japan, Kael?" he asked seriously.
Mikael let out a deep sigh. "I can't give you an exact answer for now, Bud. It depends on whether we can find a lead as soon as possible," he explained seriously.
He sighed. "So, does that mean there's a chance it'll take a while?" he asked, his eyebrows furrowed.
"Hey, you weren't like this before. You know our job, Tyeron. This isn't something we can rush because many people will perish if we make a mistake," Mikael added seriously.
"I know, I know... it's just—" He sighed.
"Will you miss her?" Heckson interjected.
"Is that even a question? Of course I will," he replied.
"In that case, you should double your efforts to find a lead so we can finish this mission and catch those syndicates," Mikael said, crossing his arms.
Before he could answer, his phone rang.
"It's Meruem," he said after seeing the caller's name.
"Put it on speaker," Mikael ordered.
He did as Mikael instructed.
"Where are you? And where's Mikael? Our boss called. We need to go to Japan immediately," Meruem said seriously.
They exchanged glances before Tyeron shook his head.
"Don't worry. We're on our way," Mikael answered.
"Okay. Take care, especially now that I've found out the Mafia we need to destroy isn't as simple as we thought. We should double our security. Understood?" he said authoritatively. Whenever they were at work, he carried himself like a king. His friends couldn't blame him because they all needed to be cautious.
"Yes, sir," the four of them replied in unison.
Yes, they all worked for HxH. They were secret agents, except for Maximo, who had decided to resign after getting married so he could live a peaceful life. Once he returned, he would marry Lhalhaine. It didn't matter to him if they lived in the province as long as he was with the woman he loved, and he could build a new business there.
"What's the name of the girl sitting in the back?" Cyrex suddenly asked.
Tyeron furrowed his brow. "Why? She's mine, dude," he replied firmly.
Cyrex laughed unexpectedly. "I'm not referring to Lhalhaine. I know she's yours. I'm asking about her friend. What's her name again?" Cyrex asked seriously.
They all looked at each other.
"And why, Cy?" Heckson asked.
Cyrex was the biggest gossip among them, even better than Mikael when it came to investigating.
"Yeah, why, Doc? Is she your type?" Mikael asked.
"That's true, Cy. This is the first time you've asked for a woman's name, knowing you have an allergy to women—"
He was about to continue when Cyrex raised his hand.
"Relax, guys. I'm just asking for her name, okay? We met in the bathroom a while ago," he explained calmly.
"And then?" the three of them asked in unison.
"Then... she suddenly fell into my arms. I just want to know her name because—" he explained, clearly struggling to finish his sentence.
"Okay, we get it now. You know, Cy, that's how I started too," Tyeron said with a smile.
Mikael draped an arm around Cyrex, whose face remained emotionless as he looked at the three of them.
"Yeah, it's natural," Heckson agreed.
"Natural?" Cyrex asked in surprise.
"Naturally, you're in the denial stage. I was like that back then," Tyeron replied with a smile.
Cyrex removed Mikael's arm from around his shoulders.
"Whatever," Cyrex replied, annoyed, with a slangy accent.
The three of them laughed at their friend's behavior.
"It seems our friend is falling in love," Tyeron commented.
His two other friends looked away.
"Oh, right. I should go check on my angel. Later, when we get to Manila, I need to make the most of the time we have together," he said seriously. He turned around but stopped when he remembered something.
"Oh, right, Son. I appreciate that you agreed to bring Lhalhaine and Shyra. Thank you, dude. I'll make it up to you next time... you too, Kael," he said with a smile.
The two simply saluted him while Cyrex merely nodded. Tyeron scratched his head before turning away.
Lhalhaine smiled when she saw Tyeron waving at her as he walked toward the seat where she was sitting. She had been bored for a while because it had taken Tyeron a long time to come back.
Shyra had also been staring blankly into space while smiling to herself for quite some time. Instead of sitting beside Lhalhaine, she had chosen a seat near Doctor Cyrex. Lhalhaine had no idea what was going on with her friend. Just seeing Doctor Cyrex had made her fall in love. Oh well, the same thing had happened to her with Tyeron—it had happened so quickly.
She flinched when someone kissed her neck. She turned and saw the man who was now sitting beside her.
"Are you okay? You seem to be deep in thought. I'm sorry for being late. My friends and I had a lot of important matters to discuss earlier. Were you bored? Or are you hungry?" he asked softly, his voice filled with sincerity, as he took her hand.
She smiled.
"I'm okay. I was just thinking about something. Hmm... maybe I'm just a little hungry," she admitted shyly.
The man laughed, making her avert her gaze.
"You're adorable, my angel. Wait for me here. I'll get you something to eat," he said with a grin before standing up again.
But she gently grabbed his arm, causing him to turn back toward her.
"Get something for yourself too," she softly instructed.
He smiled. "I will. I'll be back, okay?"
She smiled and nodded, watching him until he disappeared.
