Chapter 86: Chapter 37: Side story of supporting character
Lhalhaine quickly asked the driver to stop when she spotted Shyra waiting by the roadside. She rolled down the window and waved.
"Shyra! Over here!"
Her friend hurried over, staring at the luxury vehicle with wide eyes.
"Lyn! Whose car is this? It's gorgeous! Where are we going?"
"I'll explain later. Get in first."
As soon as Shyra climbed inside, she froze after noticing the man beside Lhalhaine.
"So... you're the boyfriend?" she asked, looking directly at him.
Tyeron smiled politely.
"Yes. I'm Attorney Tyeron Bon Vanderburgh. You must be Shyra."
"An attorney?" Shyra gasped. "How old are you?"
"Twenty-nine."
She nodded thoughtfully before grinning.
"So you're basically our older brother."
Lhalhaine shot her friend a warning glance, making Tyeron chuckle.
Noticing Lhalhaine rubbing her temple, he asked softly, "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine."
Soon they arrived at the airport.
"I'll accompany you until here," she said.
Tyeron looked at her with pleading eyes.
"Will you walk me inside, my angel?"
Before she could answer, Shyra smiled.
"Go. It might be a while before you see each other again."
Lhalhaine nodded.
Inside the private terminal, Tyeron gently held her waist as they walked toward his plane. She admired the elegant aircraft while Shyra excitedly tugged at her sleeve.
"Lyn!"
"What?"
"Do you see what I see?"
Lhalhaine frowned.
"Behave."
"I found the future father of my children."
She followed Shyra's gaze and spotted a tall man with ash-gray eyes leaning casually against the aircraft, wearing headphones.
She laughed.
"You mean Cyrex?"
"So that's his name?" Shyra whispered excitedly. "Tell me everything."
"He's a doctor and one of Tyeron's close friends. That's all I know."
Shyra clasped her hands dramatically.
"Doctor Cyrex... Our love team name will be 'CyShy.' Isn't it perfect?"
Lhalhaine lightly smacked her arm.
"You're impossible."
A few moments later, Tyeron returned with Heckson.
"Ready?" Heckson asked.
"You're leaving already?" Lhalhaine asked quietly.
He shook his head.
"Actually, you're coming with us."
Her eyes widened.
"What?"
"You're returning home tomorrow anyway," Heckson explained. "We'll fly you and Shyra to Manila, then Tyeron's plane will bring you back to Iloilo tomorrow."
"B-But—"
"Me too?" Shyra interrupted hopefully.
"Of course," Tyeron replied.
Shyra immediately grabbed Lhalhaine's hand.
"Say yes! It'll give you more time together."
Without waiting for her answer, Shyra smiled brightly.
"She agrees!"
"W-Wait..."
Tyeron simply smiled.
"It's okay."
Lhalhaine mouthed, "Sorry."
"I love you," he mouthed back.
Her cheeks warmed as she boarded the plane.
While waiting for takeoff, her phone vibrated.
Tyeron: I'll come to you later. We still have time.
She smiled and replied.
Lhalhaine: Hurry. I miss you already.
A few seconds later, another message arrived.
Tyeron: I miss you too.
She looked out the window at the bright sky.
He hadn't even left yet, yet she already missed him.
Tomorrow would be much harder.
Special Chapter: First Encounter with Doc. Cyrex
After visiting the restroom, Shyra walked down the hallway humming happily.
She couldn't stop smiling.
"Doctor Cyrex..." she whispered dreamily.
Completely absorbed in her imagination, she danced a little while singing her favorite love song.
When she turned the corner, she froze.
Cyrex was standing against the wall with his hands in his pockets, silently watching her entire performance.
Heat rushed to her face.
She wished the floor would swallow her whole.
The doctor cleared his throat.
"Finished?"
His expression remained calm, making him look even more handsome.
Shyra could only stare.
As he stepped closer, her knees suddenly weakened.
Before she could fall, Cyrex caught her by the arm.
"Are you alright?"
Their eyes met.
Instead of answering, she accidentally leaned against his chest.
She could smell his clean cologne, making her heart race even faster.
"Miss?"
He gently tried to pull away.
"W-Wait!"
"What is it?"
She lowered her voice until it became barely audible.
"My... my bra..."
"I'm sorry?"
She covered her burning face.
"I think... it slipped."
Cyrex blinked, obviously caught off guard.
She wanted to disappear.
"My strapless bra must've fallen while I was dancing," she admitted in embarrassment.
After a brief silence, Cyrex calmly looked away.
"I'll close my eyes."
She blinked.
"You can go back to the restroom and fix it."
His gentlemanly response only made her blush harder.
"T-Thank you."
She hurried back inside the restroom.
The moment the door closed, she leaned against it and covered her face.
"Oh my gosh, Shyra..." she whispered.
"What an unforgettable first impression."
Despite the embarrassment, she couldn't stop smiling.
"My future husband is such a gentleman."
She adjusted her strapless bra, took a deep breath, and laughed at herself.
Maybe fate had a strange sense of humor.
