Chapter 176 Bait

Chapter 176 Bait
Bri

Without conscious thought, I look at her and simply say, “Stop and be still,” as I feel my vampire rush forward.

Suddenly her face is slack, and she is not moving. Samaria is looking at her and then at me, wide-eyed, not knowing exactly what to do. No doubt she’d been worried she was about to shoot me or something. I honestly don’t think so.

“My vampire part can glamor sometimes. I have only ever used it with humans, and not much at all. So, I think this girl is from Dekon. He must have found out somehow that I am here and thought this might be his opportunity to grab me, with me being away from the compound and all of the security.” She nods, following me.

“Sarmaria, I think this will be the perfect opportunity to catch him finally. If she takes me to him, not only can my mates follow the trackers I have implanted, I can also hold him with my abilities. Why he thinks I can’t, I’m not sure. He might think that what that Andilonian did is permanent or something. Also, do you have your amulet?” She patted her pocket and nodded.

“Okay, give me your amulet if you don’t mind. That way I am completely covered. I have also developed the new ability to speak telepathically with both of my mates, so I will tell them what we are doing and to not screw this up by being too protective. I need you to stay here and watch over my babies until their fathers get here and get them out of here. Once they get the kids home, they can follow me with a contingent of guards or whatever. If we can get Dekon and perhaps some of his biggest followers, we could potentially end this.” She looks at me a bit funny.

“Can you keep her from remembering that you were able to glamor her and all of that? Your mates are going to kill me for backing you up on this.” I smiled at her.

Then I reached out to both of my mates and told them what I was doing. They both were yelling at me, but they also knew I was correct. This was our chance to finally get to where Dekon was hiding. He’d want me to be there where he was working. He thought I was the key to all that he was trying to do. We’d use his arrogance against him and catch his ass finally.

“Okay, they know what we are doing. What I need you to do is get between her and that gun, and then I will get in front of you, and that way the babies are protected, and she is focused on me and only me.” Samaria did exactly as I asked.

Since we had been working on going home, I was already in street clothes and not the hospital gown, thank god. So, I looked at this girl. “You will pay attention to me and only me. You will not remember in any way that I have glamored you or even have that ability. Take me to Dekon. Now you can move.”

She was suddenly telling me to freeze again, and I raised my hands, not daring to smile, even though she had just played into exactly what I’d told her. She wasn’t paying any attention to Samaria and my babies.

“You follow me, or I shoot. You understand.” I just nodded and let her lead me at gunpoint from the room.

She took me to a small SUV, and I was surprised to see another person, a man, driving the vehicle. She pushed me into the back, and then followed me in, all the while keeping the gun trained on me.

When we were both in and she shut the door, she yelled at the man, “Drive now, before her mates realize we have her.”

With that, the man hit the gas, and we pulled away from the curb where he’d been idling at the back of the clinic. He watched around the vehicle, but I knew that he wouldn’t see my mates or any of the enforcers. I am talking to both of my mates in my head, telling them the description of the car and what streets we are now going down.

The girl tilts her head like she’s attempting to figure me out. “I don’t know why he wants you so much?”

I wonder if she has a thing for Dekon and thinks his interest in me has anything to do with me being a woman or any type of attraction. If she thinks that, she’s nuts. Although, if she is drooling over him, she’s nutzo already. I chose to not say anything and just let her think whatever she wants. Soon it won’t matter anyway.

She never lowers the gun, and I am a bit worried that if this driver goes over too many bumps, she might accidentally shoot me, so I decide to tell her that, “You know, you can lower the gun. If we hit a bump, I’d really rather not get shot.”

She does point the gun more to the side so it’s not going to accidentally go off and hurt me or anything. They don’t talk to each other, but I do see the man glancing at me in the rearview mirror occasionally, and the girl keeps giving me the stink eye. I want to roll my eyes, but figure that might give the wrong impression. I want them to think I am worried and not actually laughing my ass off inside.

It takes us a while to reach a large, sprawling ranch-style house on quite a bit of property. If Dekon is here, he has more than enough room with the size of this house and the land around it. I am still relaying everything to Allen and Armond. I can feel their anxiety, but they are preparing everything and getting the boys to the house.

When this man parks, he comes and opens the door behind me, pulling me by the arm and allowing the woman to keep the gun aimed at me once again. I cooperate with getting out, and then the woman follows after me, all the while holding that damn gun.

When the man starts to pat me down, I feel my vampire rush forward again, and I whisper, “You already patted me down and found nothing. Both of you agree that he patted me down and found nothing; that is all that you remember, nothing of me saying this, do you remember?” I see them both blink, and then he stands up and grabs my arm, hauling me to the house.

So, now I guess I’m going to go and see Dekon.
