Chapter 163 Out Of Hiding
Chapter 163 Out Of Hiding

“Okay, you want me to help you do what now?” I needed them to clarify that previous statement.
They all looked at each other. “Let us explain some things. First off, most of us are older than even your mates. We have discovered over the years that hybrids are often longer lived, and we end up being stronger and having more abilities. We have had several different mixes of hybrids over the years, all of which tend to be targets of one type or another." I nodded, understanding this.
One of the guys stepped in, “We heard about the prophecy the same as everyone else, but we had no clue what it might mean for us. So, we waited, and we watched. It wasn’t until this prophecy that the idea of a hybrid was looked at with any type of positivity. Even your dad, who we have recently learned is a hybrid, kept it quiet for the most part. He’s been more vocal about it over the last few years, but before that not much was known about it all.” I again nodded, understanding this part.
“So, now here you are, mated, a hybrid yourself. More powerful than anything I have ever seen. Not to mention, you have a leadership role in your pack and sect. You have fought against evil people, and those who look to subjugate us or make mutants to create some type of army, once more making us look like monsters. You haven’t shied away from stepping up and standing up. So, now, with the prophecy, your own kids, your dad, and the fact that you have mates of different species, and all of that. For once in our history we're in a position to come out and talk about hybrids. Find out who or what else is out there, and help them, without being massively slaughtered.”
I took a deep breath, but one of the other women spoke up, “We heard about what you are doing with the Ilonians and what all happened with them and your mother, and the deaths surrounding all of their prejudice. The fact is that it is normal in the world in which we live. You are the first to say it’s not alright, and that they need to pay for it. So, now, we want to not only help you do that, but will you help us to be able to come out of the shadows and try to live a normal life for once?” I took a deep breath and looked at my mates.
They both just smiled at me like dorks. “I have no idea what I can or can’t do. However, I agree that the way you have been treated, my father has been treated, those who have died simply for who they loved or their kids or whatnot, I know is all bullshit, and it needs to be said that it’s bullshit. People need to pay for all of the damage they have caused and the lives they have ended with their bullshit. My kids are in danger; you are right about that, but I will slaughter anyone who dares come at my kids. So, if you want to stand beside me and we’ll see what we can do about helping each other and others, that is fine with me. I have a lot of help, and I am sure we can all put our heads together and figure shit out. My dad has a lot of contacts, and he’s been spreading the word already, so I am sure we can expand on that.”
I saw the huge smiles around the table. I wasn’t sure that what I said actually merited that much excitement. I had no idea if I would be able to help these people, but I hoped I could. I hoped I could help others too. I wasn’t willing to let my kids face prejudice and possible danger just because their parents were different species and loved each other. I was just a freak of nature, but for me that was rather par for the course now.
“Your dad will most definitely want to meet with you and them. He’s spent years being an ambassador, so he’ll know the political maneuverings. Our parents basically showed the middle finger about being wolves and vampires who were best friends and blended the pack and sect. Yes, they knew about the prophecy, but there was no way they knew for sure it would end up being us just because we were best friends. We were sixteen before the mark showed up.” Allan told me, and I nodded.
“Wait, that is true? You guys have the mark of the goddess?” One of the guys was huge-eyed as he asked that.
I nodded, turned, and pulled the shoulder of my top to the side to show all of them. My mates both did the same thing. They all looked at each other wide-eyed all over again.
“That is amazing. Do you know how much legitimacy it gives all of this with the three of you having her mark? I mean, it’s like her telling everyone if they fuck with you, she will rain hell down on them.”
“Well, Dekon and his ass holes didn’t get the memo, but their retribution is coming, I guarantee it.” They all looked confused.
“It’s a long story, and part of the whole thing with the Ilonians came about because of him and what he tried to do to me, and he’s the one who is trying to breed an army that you have probably heard about but may not have known who was behind all of the bullshit." They all nodded.
“Okay, well, right now you all can follow us back to our house. You should meet our friends and family, and I don’t like being away from my kids for very long.” They nodded, we all got up, and they followed us along with us back to the house.
As soon as we walked in, my kids started fussing, so I went to them as well as Allan and Armond. We got on the floor, although with as big as I was getting, they’d have to help me get up now. I was starting to feel rather like a beached whale again.
They were enamored of the kids, and the kids seemed to like them. The fact that Caleb didn’t feel the need to put up his shield spoke volumes. I explained things to both of my mothers-in-law, and they talked to the five of the hybrids.
“What are you guys’ names anyway? I can’t just keep thinking of you as the hybrids; that is stupid.”
They laughed. It turned out they were Samaria and Selenia, who were twins, although fraternal; then there was Hedi, and Joshia and Elias. Allan called my dad, who was over at the office with my fathers-in-law, and they were planning on bringing dinner for everyone so we could all talk.
