Chapter Two Hundred and Twelve.

Chapter Two Hundred and Twelve.
Epilogue 1

Asher's POV

It's been a struggle having to see Ember go through the pregnancy process. I was happy when I got to hear the news, but right now, looking at her and how she is, I don't think I like the idea of my wife going through all of this.

Yeah.

We got married two weeks back. And I've not missed any chance to call her my wife. There is this satisfaction that comes along with it.

Back to my concerns, there is no getting her away from the garage too. She's always there. I've come to understand that this is what she loves to do. But then, I can't take my eyes away from her. And I don't want to get on her nerves, and disturb her too much, but then, I can't help it.

There was this day that she almost passed out from standing for a long time. I lost my shit then. I tried my best to make sure she stays inside but then, that does not help if her so-called garage was downstairs where we lived.

Now, she's heavily pregnant and the baby might come anytime. She's too agile for someone who would give birth anytime from now. She makes my blood pressure rise every single time.

“Babe!” I heard her call from downstairs and I froze up. There seemed to be panic in her tone and I don't know why that could have happened. I rushed downstairs to check on her.

She was sitting down on a chair. I accessed what was going on around her to check for any possible threat, but there was nothing, so I calmed down a bit.

“Are you okay?” I asked with worry lacing my tone. She tilted her head to the side like she does anytime she is amused.

“Why are you like that?” She asked me and I sighed.

“You screamed my name and I rushed down here thinking something had happened to you.” I said incredulously.

She laughed out then and I rolled my eyes. I can't believe this right now. I walked closer to her and kissed her forehead.

“I've told you a million times that you get too worried and it's not good for your health. I'm the pregnant one here.” She teased me and I shook my head. “Besides, I didn't call you names, I said babe.” She corrected and I squatted in front of her.

“Still my name. Or do you call any other person that?” I asked, feeling a jealous streak that does not seem to go anywhere rise up within me.

“You're so cute.” She teased and I swatted her hand in my hair away gently.

“I've told you to stop calling me that.” I argued as I played around with her baby bump and kissed it too.

“How about pretty?” She asked, with a mischievous glint in her eyes.

“Don't start.” I grumbled quietly.

“What? You're the prettiest man I have ever seen.” She covered.

“Don't act corny with me right now.” I said and she laughed out loud. That made me mesmerized for a while. When I first met her, she hardly smiled, not to laugh. But she's been doing a lot of that recently and that's so cool. It always gets me staring anytime she does it.

“Why are you staring like that?” She asked me in a small voice that gets to me

“Nothing. You're just very beautiful.” I said and her face erupted in flames.

“Stop that.” She said. She was about to say something else when someone barged in and I groaned out loud.

“How is my favorite woman doing today?!” Her ridiculously loud voice echoed around the room.

“Why are you in my house again?” I asked, turning to face her.

“What do you mean? I'm not here for you, so how about you move out of the way and let me see my sister-in-law and my beautiful nephew.” She said.

Don't have a sister. Take it from me. This one is after my life every single time she's around. I really appreciate the fact that her school is hours away from here and she won't want to come home on a whim. If it was up to her, she would be showing up in my house anytime she wants to on the guise of coming to see my wife.

“Hey darling.” Ember greeted me and I knew her attention was away from me and solely on her. She does this every single time she comes around.

“You need to leave Freya.”

“Stop being a baby and accept the fact that your baby sister is here.” She snapped playfully as she hugged Ember.

“How are you doing today?” She asked.

“Don't squeeze her please.” I said but they ignored me and continued with the conversation they were having.

I knew it was time to leave, so I walked away from there. My phone rang and I picked it up without looking at who was calling.

“Hey boss.” Raffa’s voice rang through the cell.

“I've told you not to call me boss.” I told him and he only laughed it off.

“You are coming back.”

“No I'm not.” I replied fast. I don't know why I've been lazing around. But then, I have a good reason this time around. I know that when Ember gives birth, I might have to go back, but then, I don't want to. At least not now.

“Asher!” Freya shouted my name and I turned back, feeling alarmed.

“What's up?” I asked.

“Her water broke.”

My body froze up for a while before my brain started to work again.

“Get the bag in our room.” I said to her and rushed to where Ember was sitting. By the time I got there, she was still sitting down on the chair I left her on. She looked calm and chill, but when I looked down, water was on the floor.

“Babe.” I whispered as I walked gently towards her.

“Hey. He's coming.” She said silently with a smile on her face, then without giving me a headstart, she screamed.
