Chapter Two Hundred and Eight.

Chapter Two Hundred and Eight.
Ember's POV

As soon as I stepped into the house, I knew something was wrong. My gut feeling to leave started to kick in but I didn't want to. I wanted to see what she wants to do and know what she has to say this time around.

The house was eerily silent and there was no sound, but I knew that she was inside. So, I walked the short hallway between the door and the sitting room.

I saw her sitting down there with a box packed up in the middle of the room. Okay. That's a start.

“Good evening.” I greeted her as I stood in front of her a couple steps away. She opened her eyes and looked at me. Her eyes were very clear which was rare. That only meant one thing: that she's stayed off drugs for some days now. What is she up to?

“Ember.” She called my name in greeting as she sat up in the chair. “Sit down.” She said but I shook my head.

“I'd rather stand.” I said to her, “You look better.” I chipped. My insides were gnawing telling me to get away from this place. Even if she would not do anything to me, I don't want to be in her presence at all after all she did to me.

“I want to apologize properly to you. That's the reason why I asked you to come here. I'm sorry for every single thing I did. I was blinded by love and power that I did not see what I was doing as wrong. And when it didn't go my way, I held you up as a ransom for myself and did all those horrible things to you. I know I used you and you might not want to even forgive me. That's okay. But I wanted to apologize before I leave.” She said in a stark tone.

“You're right about one thing. I won't forgive you. You don't have to apologize. You already did the worst you can do to me and I'm trying to piece my life back together at the moment. You tore my life apart with your hands from the beginning before I could speak. You've taken much from me already. Too much that you don't deserve to even apologize to me, talk less of me forgiving you. The only reason why I came here today was to see your face and have the memory of the last time I was going to see you etched in my memory. And I wanted to tell you face to face that I will never forgive you, so you would carry that guilty feeling around forever. Do you hear me, Loretta?” I said to her, anger burning in my veins.

Her body reaction moved a little bit and I wanted to hit her across the face but I stopped myself. I was about to turn and leave when I heard another voice behind me,

“Wow, that was a great watch.” The male voice said, clapping alongside and I froze. This was it. I knew something was not right from the moment that I stepped in here. Was this her game plan? To have another man rape me again before she left? I turned slowly to see him. He looked rough around the edges like he belonged to a gang with his bald head.

“You should not have come at all, Ember. Your problem is that you're like your mother. You trust a lot. And it will cost you your precious life.” I heard her snicker from behind me.

“Alright then. Let's end this. What's your game plan?” I asked, trying to act as nonchalant as I could. This is not my first rodeo, but I will make sure that it's the last time something like this will ever happen to me.

“What are you talking about?” The man tilted his head to the side.

“What do you want?” I snapped angrily. A smirk made its way to his face and I totally wanted to slap it away.

“Okay. Since you asked. I'll run through it. The aim is to get your boyfriend through you. Kidnap you, make him show his face, get him too. The main game plan right now is his father Jaxon. It's time he pays for his crimes.” The man said. Looking at him now, he looked around the age of Jaxon.

Fear started to pump in my veins. They want to use me to get to Asher.

“You will be wasting your time.” I said trying to smart them out. I stood in a way that would make me look at both of them.

“I'm not that special to Asher. It's sex. So, you're definitely wasting your time.” I told them, feeling the words burn on my tongue as I said it.

They both moved from leg to leg.

“Don't try to act smart with me. I've seen the way he looks at you. And I heard what he did for you. Even if it's just sex, your cunt must be made from gold then for him to go all the way to you like that. So, either way, you're coming with us.” My mother snapped. My head started to swim in fear. I was about to say something when I felt something sharp stabbed into my neck and before I could even make a sound, I began to feel drowsy.

“Sorry baby. We need to take this party to the next level.” I heard the man whisper in my ear and I was out of it.

My head was banging seriously as I opened my eyes. Even opening my eyes was a chore on its own. What the hell was I given? I thought to myself as I remembered what happened.

I was on a dirty floor in a big warehouse. It was empty so I would say it's an abandoned warehouse.

That bastard drugged me. I can still feel pain where I was shot with a syringe. Shit. I wanted to stand up when I discovered that my hands were cuffed to the pike that was behind me. I was hearing the sounds of some people talking. That means that I'm not alone.

I wanted to get their attention, that's when I started to cling the cuff to the pole to make sounds. After what seemed like forever, the man from earlier came. This time he was with another guy.

“What might the princess need?” He asked in a shockingly sweet voice.

“Why have you brought me here?” I asked him.

“I don't like repeating myself. I already gave you a reason as to why you're here.” He snapped angrily as he stooped to my level.

“What did his father do to you?” I asked.

“That's the wrong question. It should be what his father did to us.” He said pointing at the both of us. The confused look on my face must have said it all.

“Your father was my boss princess. And the father of your boyfriend killed him. It's time for him to be killed too. The way he planned boss's death for years, that's the same way his own death too has been planned for years. He can't get away with what he did. Don't you think? And I'm quite disappointed in you. After you heard that your father was murdered by their family, you still went ahead and stayed with their son. Are you that big of a slut for his dick?” He said with blazing anger.

I spat in his face then. Anger was burning through me too. Before I knew it, he slapped me hard twice on the same cheek that I felt myself tilt. My eyes swam in tears for a while.

“I don't know the bastard that fathered me. And I don't care to know him.” I snapped angrily. “He did evil first, did he not? I won't associate myself with someone like him.”

“Boss would roll in his grave if he hears what his favorite and most adored daughter is saying. But that all comes to an end today.” He stood up on a whim.

“You won't get what you want. I promise you that. This is a waste of time on your end.” I said as he walked away. The guy that came with him kicked me a couple of times in my stomach and the pain resonated with the one on my face.

“I told you that she was a bitch. A non filial child.” I heard my mother say to the man. I didn't know why I still call her my mother in my head. She does not deserve that title at all.

“She will get what is coming for her.” I heard the man say. Fear gripped me tight.

I really hope that Asher does not fall into this trap that they are setting. It's not his. I will never forgive myself if something happens to him or his family members because of me.

I don't deserve that much. I hope he does not fall into the bait. That was the last thought I had before I passed out.
