Chapter Two Hundred and Nine.
Chapter Two Hundred and Nine.
Asher's POV
I still can't wrap my head around the fact that she's been kidnapped. Like how? She was supposed to be with me in the house. One minute she was here, the next, she was not. I can't find her anywhere.
Somewhere in my head, I think she knew what she was signing up for because she left her cell phone in the house and it was on the last text she had with her mother. It gave me direction in looking for her. The first place I checked was their house which was not locked by the time I got there. When I opened the door, I knew she was not here anymore.
I could still smell her perfume in the air, which could only mean one thing. She was here but she's not here again. They took her. I've combed the places I could. I told my dad and I didn't expect the reaction he gave me. I thought he would be nonchalant about it, but he was actually very serious.
He was angry about it. He reached out to uncle Simon and told him to hack into the systems around this place and by the time I got back a reply from him, I was sent the video from the front of the house.
Although a little grainy, I could make her out as she was carried almost lifeless out of the house and fear gripped me. I don't know what to do about the whole thing but then, this could only mean one thing, the gang that has been after me all this while took her. Because the tattoo on the back of the man's neck and hand said it all.
Her mother followed behind her which meant that she was also in on this together with them.
They were the gang that had issues with my father and it's obvious they were trying to get their revenge by getting her so they could get to get me and then my father. Their plan was as blatant as day to anyone with sense.
My father figured it out too and he wanted to go to the warehouse she was in and put an end to all of these things with his guns and the guys. He was really serious about it. And I know the reason he was made was because of the attempt they made on me using her.
I told him this was not about the club anymore, or even about me or about what happened in the past. It was about her. The fact that they had the audacity to take what belongs to me in the first place. They need to pay for it. Which made me decide that I would be the one heading the rescue.
We've gotten the address of the place. We just need to put proper planning on ground so as not to mess things up. For the people who have been planning something like this for ages, they must have a kind of structure that they have put in place and that was the reason why this must go according to plan. She must not get hurt.
By the time we were ready, we moved. Everyone already has a piece of the information that was needed for the raid. You can do anything you want to but Ember must not be hurt no matter what.
“She's going to be fine mate.” Alex slapped his hand on my back as he checked his gun. I nodded even though different thoughts were going through my head at the moment.
“You know, she thinks you don't like her.” I said to him, looking straight up. “So, if that's actually true, you better keep that feeling in check and make sure that her safety is your priority right now. Do you get me?” I said in a stern voice that I only use on him when we are in boss and subordinate mode.
“Yes boss. That's not true though. I didn't really fuck with her at first. But I kind of later warmed up to her if I may say. I might not show it though.” He said and I grunted in reply.
We didn't take our bikes and Harleys so as not to bring more attention than needed to ourselves.
Immediately we got to the location we planned to park, everyone got out of the two vans we brought and marched towards the warehouse discreetly. They surrounded the place, while I walked straight for the door of the place. When I got to entrance, I was shocked not to meet anyone there, but it might be a trap.
I pointed my gun as I was on guard. I shot every single person that came in my way. Thank goodness for the silencer that was on the gun.
This was made easier than I thought. But I didn't want to rejoice yet, until I have Red in my arms.
When I bursted into the open space, my eyes quickly scanned the place as I hid behind a big pole to see what was happening. As soon as I could take the scope of what was going on, and I sighted Ember where she was, I gave the signal to the guys to burst in.
In a few seconds, chaos ensued in the whole place. A small smile made its way to my face at how shocked they looked right now. It was very funny. I immediately rushed to where she was sitting, looking somewhat disoriented by the noise. The guy that was going to her too, I shot him.
But by the time I got to her, her eyes were already on me. And she had this look of fear on her face that I could not even fathom.
“Asher, you need to leave here. It's a trap. Pl…. please.” She begged. Her swollen eyes ticked as she spoke. Anger brewed and spilled over as I looked at her face and saw the amount of bruises that were there.
“Come on baby. Let's get you out of here.” I said, not bothering to listen to her. At least not now. We need to leave. I discovered that she was cuffed to the pole behind her and I needed keys.
“Looking for this?” Someone said behind me and I looked back to see the bald guy from the video. He jingled the key in front of me and I stood up. I towered over him and I could see the fear on his face.
“You won't leave here alive.” He said, his voice shaking a little bit.
“For something that you've been planning for a while now, don't you think this is shitty?” I smirked. “Too easy even.”
He was about to say something else when blood spewed from his mouth. And he dropped to the floor.
“Guess who is not leaving alive?” I said to him as he gurgled on his own blood and I took the keys from his hand.
“Let's get you out of here baby.” I said to her as I unlocked the cuffs. She groaned as I gently brought her hands to the front.
“We need to leave soon. I think the place is rigged to blow up.” Alex shouted from behind me. I gathered her in my arms and started to walk out.
She buried her face in my shoulder with her arms wrapped around my neck.
“Thank you.” She whispered. I was about to reply to her when the place blew up behind us. I hope all the guys got out. But my priority right now is to get her to the hospital.
A few days later after she said there is no need to go to the hospital and that she was doing okay, she's still getting an IV drip at home. She's not been able to move too much either.
Apparently, the doctor said she broke a few ribs but she would be fine. I was so livid. But it's all over now. Dad made sure to get every single person in the gang while she recovered.
“You need to stop sulking, you know, right?” I heard her and my head snapped up.
“What?” I asked.
“You've been like this since we got back. I'm fine now. See? Very healthy.” She said and I pinned her with a stern look.
“Is getting IV drops healthy to you? Your ribs are still trying to heal Red. What if something happened to you, I would not have been able to forgive myself.” I said.
“Do you know how I felt when you did what you did weeks back?” She asked.
“Is that….”
“No. But I'm fine. I'm here and I'm glad both of us are doing well. I love you.” She said suddenly and I was caught me off guard because she was laughing at the expression on my face.
“Are you saying that to get yourself out of this mess?” I asked gently. I've been telling her I loved her religiously since we started our relationship and not once has she said it back.
“Nope. I'm saying it because I actually do love you.” She said it again and my heart skipped.
“I love you more Red.” I said and placed my head on her leg, her hands twirling in my hair.
