Chapter 116

Chapter 116

Kevin glanced back at Rachel, a smirk playing on his lips. "Wanna head inside?"

Rachel's big, watery eyes looked up at him, pleading for sympathy as she tugged lightly on Kevin's sleeve.

Kevin tried to step back, but Rachel moved forward, and the two of them ended up stuck in the doorway of the club.

A crowd of people outside the entrance was grumbling and complaining.

The doorman, seeing the close relationship between the two, sighed and let them through.

Rachel's eyes lit up as she finally let go of Kevin's sleeve and strutted inside.

Kevin grabbed her by the collar, pulling her close. "What are you doing here? Trying to seduce another guy?"

Where did he get the idea that she was here to seduce men?

"When you worked in the red-light district, didn't you do this all the time?" Kevin's voice was cold as he stared at Rachel.

Rachel looked back at Kevin, her eyes deepening. "I never came to places like this even when I was in the red-light district. Don't worry, I won't cheat on your father."

Kevin's gaze sharpened, and he stared at Rachel for a long moment without speaking.

Rachel felt uncomfortable under his scrutiny. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Kevin's smirk returned, his tone pausing. "I'm trying to figure out which part of what you just said is true and which part is a lie."

Rachel fell silent, feeling a surge of anger. Did he think she couldn't say a single truthful word?

She glared at Kevin. "If that's what you think, then I suggest you get as far away from me as possible. I don't want to see you."

"Too bad, you're only here because of me," Kevin said, a faint smile in his eyes.

Rachel shoved him away, not wanting to waste another word on him.

But Kevin shamelessly moved closer, his eyes fixed on the marks on her neck. "Are you sure you don't want to tell me who did this?"

Rachel had no intention of involving him in this mess. But Kevin was stubborn, insisting on getting to the bottom of it.

Rachel didn't see how it mattered whether she told him or not. But his relentless questioning left her speechless.

She finally said, "Even if I tell you, you won't believe me."

"Was it my father?" Kevin's eyes narrowed, and he leaned in close to her ear. "Did my father do something to you?"

"Nothing happened!" Rachel refused to admit it.

Kevin chuckled softly, lifting her chin and planting a quick kiss on her lips.

Rachel was caught off guard and pulled back immediately, glaring at him. "Everyone's watching. Do you want your father to find out?"

"That would be perfect. This way, I can take you away openly," Kevin said coldly.

Rachel took a step back, disbelief in her eyes. "Ethan already knows about us. Isn't that enough?"

"The more people know, the better. Only then will they understand that you've always been mine," Kevin said with a sneer.

Rachel ignored him, striding down the opulent hallway. She focused on the paintings lining the walls, eager to complete her task.

Kevin watched her from a distance, pulling out his phone to make a call.

"Find out what happened at the Smith Manor today," he said before hanging up and pocketing his phone.

Kevin walked down the hallway and entered a private room.

Inside, a group of men were drinking and chatting.

"Mr. Smith, we were just about to start a game of dice. You're the only one missing."

"Yeah, come join us."

"Why are you so late today?"

"You used to be the first one here..."

As they spoke, the door opened, and several young girls walked in. They were dressed in short skirts, and stood in front of the men.

Kevin showed no interest in the girls, focusing on a game on his phone.

The other rich kids stared at the girls, their eyes wide.

One of the girls, with a ponytail and tear-streaked face, caught the eye of one of the men.

"I'll take her," said a man with dyed black hair, lounging in the booth with a smug smile.

Kevin remained expressionless. The world of the rich was dirty, and this kind of thing was all too common. They came to clubs like this to play with innocent girls.

The girl hesitated, tears streaming down her face.

The man laughed. "Don't act like I'm forcing you."

Despite his words, the girl's tears made her look pitiful.

"Don't just stand there. Come here," the man said, his tone arrogant.

The girl finally walked over, avoiding eye contact, and was pulled into his arms.

The other men laughed.

"Mr. Smith, aren't you going to pick one? Some of them look pretty innocent," one of them said.

Kevin glanced around, then returned his attention to his phone, uninterested. "Abigail is still in the hospital. I'm not in the mood for this."

"Using your fiancée as an excuse again?" one of them teased, nudging his shoulder.

Kevin's expression darkened, and he glared at the man. "My father doesn't want me messing around. If I get someone pregnant, the Wilson family won't be happy."

"You don't have to worry about inheriting the family fortune, but I do."

The others' faces stiffened. Kevin was right. He was talented, a top student who had won scholarships, unlike them, pampered and spoiled. They wouldn't inherit their family's assets.

Kevin's words shattered the illusion they maintained.
