Chapter 115
Chapter 115
Rachel quickly yanked Isaac away.
Isaac hated it when people didn't listen to him and stepped out of line.
To Isaac, this was crossing the line.
Isaac immediately shook off Rachel's hand, causing her to hit the wall, pain spreading through her back, feeling like her bones were shattered.
Rachel leaned against the wall, her face twisted in pain.
After being slapped, Ethan first looked at Rachel.
Rachel, leaning against the wall, slowly exhaled a breath.
At this moment, Rachel's gaze fell on Ethan's face.
Her tone was cold as she said to Ethan, "Say sorry to your father now!"
"You sent me abroad, saying it was to handle the branch office, but you just wanted to get rid of me." Ethan glared angrily at Isaac.
Isaac's eyes dimmed. "Get rid of you?"
"Isn't it true? You treat everyone like this, never seeing us as real sons. We're like stray dogs you raise and then discard when you're done using us!" Ethan spoke each word with emphasis.
Isaac sneered. "If you have the guts to leave the Smith family, then cut off all ties with me. Don't stand here accusing me of being a bad father. I've given you a life of luxury, ensuring you never have to worry about food or drink. Isn't that enough?"
"Do you know how many people envy your life? You're at the top of the pyramid, with resources and connections others can only dream of. What right do you have to complain? If I were you, I'd use the capital I've given you to climb even higher."
Isaac finished his words with a cold finality.
Ethan's gaze turned icy.
Isaac's eyes darkened as he looked at Rachel, his tone frigid. "Rachel, I don't know what you've done to make Ethan like this."
"But seeing him now, I think it's best he doesn't stay at the Smith Manor any longer. He should pack up and go abroad immediately!"
With that, Isaac headed upstairs.
Linda looked around cautiously before speaking to Rachel. "Mrs. Smith, you know the boss's temper. You shouldn't have angered him."
Rachel sneered. "Do I need you to remind me?"
"I'm just advising you. If the boss loses patience with you one day, he'll throw you out of the Smith Manor without hesitation. And you haven't even completed the marriage paperwork yet..."
Linda's eyes bore into Rachel's.
Rachel's gaze hardened, staring at Linda without a word.
Her anger surged.
Linda smirked and went upstairs.
Rachel wasn't afraid of being kicked out by Isaac, but now wasn't the time.
Rachel closed her eyes and clenched her fists.
Ethan stepped forward, intending to comfort Rachel, but she cut him off. "Why did you have to argue with your father? Ethan, you've disappointed me!"
"Can't you see that secretary has bad intentions?" Ethan's voice was cold.
Rachel scoffed. "So what if she does? What does it have to do with you? What's the point of saying all that? Do you think you have a say in my matters with Isaac?"
Rachel got up from the floor, her resolve hardening.
She had been holding back.
She only wanted revenge, but certain factors were pushing her further from her goal.
What did Ethan want?
Didn't he understand how difficult things were for her now?
Rachel didn't want to deal with Ethan.
Ethan's gaze darkened, his voice deep. "I didn't expect my help to be met with your disdain."
"When did I ask for your help? Do you think I need it?"
"Ethan, I need your father right now. I can't do without him! And neither can you!"
Rachel finished, losing the desire to continue the conversation.
Ethan watched Rachel in silence, his heart aching as if a knife had cut through it.
Rachel was in severe pain and turned to leave.
Ethan scoffed. "Where are you going now?"
Rachel turned to look at Ethan, her tone icy. "Of course, I'm staying home."
Without another word, she went upstairs.
Ethan watched her leave, his gaze darkening.
Ethan's mood sank, his fists clenched. He never expected Rachel to be so heartless.
Her words hit him hard.
If he hadn't helped Rachel, that secretary would have been under Ethan's nose.
He couldn't even imagine it. He felt utterly desolate.
But now, how could he explain?
In his eyes, Rachel was in love with Isaac. If Kevin hadn't done those things to her, she wouldn't be struggling so much now.
Ethan felt controlled by Rachel's emotions.
But he didn't feel sad. Should he blame Rachel for what happened?
He couldn't.
...
Rachel took this opportunity to go to the address Daisy had sent her.
She knew this was the best time to rescue Curtis's daughter.
Thinking of this, Rachel left the villa.
She hailed a cab and went to the club.
This club was a gathering place for the city's elite, where almost all the influential people frequented.
When Rachel arrived, she rushed inside.
A waiter stopped her.
"You can't go in without a membership..."
Rachel's face stiffened, about to find an excuse, when a hand reached out in front of the waiter.
She saw Kevin handing over his membership card. "Is this okay?"
Rachel looked at Kevin in surprise. "What are you doing here?"
"Business meeting." Kevin's gaze paused, falling on the bruises on Rachel's neck. "Did someone hit you?"
Rachel immediately shook her head, covering the bruises. "No one hit me. I accidentally bumped into something."
"Rachel, don't tell me that while you were away, you and Ethan..."
Rachel's face turned cold, glaring at Kevin. "Can you not be so vulgar?"
"Vulgar? Rachel, if you want to get into the club, you need my help. Are you sure you want to give up this chance?" Kevin stared at Rachel, speaking each word clearly.
Rachel fell silent.
Kevin smirked. "Looks like you prefer staying outside."
As he was about to go in, Rachel grabbed his sleeve. "I was wrong."
"What?" Kevin asked, tilting his head.
"I was wrong." Rachel bit her lip and repeated.
