137. Not Prepared
Ophelia POV
My hands fucking hurt. I had burned those fuckers when I went to find bolt cutters. The dam thing was too hot, and my hands were burnt badly. The doctor insisted I stay in the hospital, but I rejected that. I had him bandage my hands and fucking left. Besides my hands I was fine. I had wrapped them with something to prevent worse damage. But the cloth I used to grab the tool to free Fox still wasn’t enough to prevent burns.
Fox had been delirious when I got to him, mumbling and stumbling. Granted he was in horrible shape. His face was all screwed up his leg was in bad condition. Murphy had shot him and poorly treated it. I didn’t know the extent of the damage nor would until I finished all of this up.
Fox, I was furious at him. He had gone behind my back, he had made a half ass plan, despite what we had discussed, and it had failed, miserably. The only consolation was both Justus and Murphy were idiots. Justus underestimated me, and Murphy, well he was just not cut out for being in this level. He should have killed Fox, it is what I myself would have done, and I know Fox would have killed his captive if there was a chance he could die.
What Murphy was thinking leaving him alive was stupid. He thought the fire my rounds set off would burn Fox to death. That I would find him burning and it would break me, that or he wanted him to suffer being burned to death. But he was wrong obviously, and I had gotten him out of there. His ally Justus was dead, that was a much too quick justice. Now Nathan, that was quick, he didn’t even have a fight.
I had crossed his body when searching for Fox. He was lying there a bullet straight through his chest. It was ridiculous to be frank. I would have liked to torture that fucker for days before I killed him. But I couldn’t do that now. All I had left was one person to kill, one to end all of this and it was Murphy. He was slimy and was laying too low.
I was so tired so so tired. How I had even managed to destroy the fucking warehouses was beyond me. Adrenaline that was all it was. I had no energy even now. I needed to get this fucking bargaining chip. Just one person, all I had to do was capture one fucking person and Murphy would come to heel. At least that is what Fox assumed. I was in no need to go off his assumptions right now but there was nothing I could do.
I had no other lead so I would get Murphy’s fucking son Porter, what a stupid fucking name. I was going to fucking snag him and then get his father, and for good measure kill both of them, well when I am done torturing the both of them. I was thinking maybe I could start on Porter before Murphy, once I had them, light torture. Then I would get Murphy, I could let him watch me hurt his son. I smiled thinking about it.
I pet my stomach, “You three will have your vengeance.” I said to them as I looked up. The place was crowded, for a shit hole. “Do you want another ginger beer?” The bartender asked and I smiled and asked “So I am a friend of the Christensons, do you know Porter and Murphy Christensons, do you know where I could find them? My friend told me they like to frequent this bar.” I said flashing a smile.
I had gotten that little information from one of Murphy’s soldiers before I slit his throat. “Yes, actually Porter is right over there.” The bartender pointed and I turned. Dumb fucker is all I could think. He sees big tits, which I had spilling out, of the little black dress I wore, and he told me what I wanted to know. I sighed.
“Thankyou.” I said batting my eyelashes and setting down a very large tip under my drink. I walked over to the man the bartender had pointed out. He didn’t look anything like his father. He didn’t wear a cheap suit but jeans and a t-shirt. He was sipping a mug of beer. His eyes landed right where I wanted to, the cleavage spilling out of my dress. Thanks to the babies growing inside me, they were much larger than they had been in my adult life and right now I was using them to my advantage.
“Well, hey there?” Porter said finally looking at my face. I could see him taken aback by my scar, he knew who I was, and I was sure of it. I pulled out a gun and pointed it at his chest. It was a small thing and was hidden from the bar behind my back. “You are going to get up and we are going to have a little talk.” I said and he stilled a little. “Now” I said calmly.
“You won’t shoot me right here will you Ophelia?” He questioned. I raised one of my eyebrows. “You saw what I did to the warehouses, or you at least heard. You think I won’t shoot you and burn this whole place down? You think I don’t have a contingency plan for if you don’t come with me right now?” He stared and I added “If you think I care about this life, or the ones inside me, you are wrong. Fox is dead and well what is life worth without him in it?”
Porter had no idea that Fox was not dead. The whole place had been cinders according to the news, bodies were being sorted as I stood here and spoke. This was to my benefit; it would be a while before the police realized who the bodies where and who they were not. For that I had a little time. Murphy and Porter who was right in front of me, didn’t know that he was alive and resting in his private hospital bed.
I watched as Porter stood up slowly. I moved so I was behind his back and with the long coat, hiding the tiny gun I had pushed into his back. The weather had warmed, and it was much too hot for this coat, but I had to have something on to hide the tiny gun I was using. Porter left and he was out of the bar, he turned, and I knew he was going to try and disable me, so I quickly I took out a small tazzer from my pocket and zapped him. It was not high voltage, and he didn’t fall to the ground but looked wobbly.
I shoved the gun against his chest right over his heart. “Get in the passenger side now.” I said and he did. I knew he didn’t know the rules of this game, and it was clear. His father had not taught him or did but not well enough. Because the second he sat down I hit him over and over again with the gun until his eyes dropped. The gun was not large enough to knock him out. I took out a little syringe, and shoved it in his arm, nothing like a little date rape drug. “Sleep well.” I said and slammed the door shut of my car.
