126. Bad Reaction

Ophelia POV

I sat there in the hospital bed shocked. My head had a few stitches, which wasn’t so bad. Probably a mild concussion they said. Though they seemed concerned that I had bruises. Of course I had them, I had been taking rubber bullets in that stupid simulation I did when I visited Caden. I told them paint ball; it was the only rational excuse I could come up with. It was close to the truth though. But when they told me I was pregnant I was shocked.

I had an IUD for years, and it wasn’t time for a new one. How did this even happen? They told me the chances of that happening were low, so I thought it was a sure thing. It was just my luck I guess, bad. I was not thrilled to say the least. They went ahead and removed the IUD from me. It had been the cause of my exhaustion and my little fall. Apparently, that was common.

I had no idea that I had been. I had no morning sickness or anything like that, so I was completely blindsided by this. They said they wanted to do an ultrasound to make sure all was okay with baby, since I did take a fall. I told them to wait for Fox and they seemed to be okay with that. I knew Fox would be pleased he wanted this so bad and here it was. I snorted, for someone to not believe in lucky he sure seemed to have a lot of it.

Where I was not in the slightest. What the fuck! Was all I could think. Fox came in pulling aside the little curtain that separated me from the other person sharing the room. I had been moved here after scans on my head. Stupid fall caused me to have a few tests to make sure nothing to bad happened to my brain, but they had come back, and it all looked fine thank fuck.

Fox was practically beaming when I looked at him and it was a stark contrast to the scowl I had on my face. This was ridiculous he leaned down and gave the top of my head a kiss. I liked that and relished in it. Everything would change now, and I knew it. “I can’t believe it.” Fox said excited. “My sentiments exactly.” I responded. But my connotation behind the statement was anger. “I will bring in the tech.” The nurse said and I huffed at her. “I guess we need to have a wedding soon, having a baby out of wedlock is probably not the best for our standing in the community.” He spoke.

It always came back to that; we had an image to maintain even if it was as fake as a pair of implants. I sighed when the technician came in wheeling in a machine that I supposed was to see inside my body. The woman was smiling just like Fox. She looked at me and her smile fell a little. She asked me to lift up my shirt and I complied with her request. “Normally we suggest a transvaginal ultrasound with falls but to my understanding you didn’t want to do that?” I gave her a quick nod. “That is alright. So, let’s see what we have here?”

She put the gel which to no surprise was cold. It felt like I was in one of those cheesy tv shows it was so predictable. Her eyebrows rose quickly. Was something wrong. It had to be since her face changes so quickly. Maybe there was no heartbeat or something and I was miscarrying. I didn’t know how I felt about that thought. Fox had to have seen her face change because he in a concerned voice asked, “What is wrong?” The woman shook her head. “Oh, nothing bad.” He let out a little sigh of relief.

I guess the fall had not made me miscarry. Again, I didn’t know how I felt about it. “Well, what is it then?” Fox asked. The woman gave a smile to him but when she saw my apathetic look she dropped the large smile. She could obviously tell I was not one of those people gushing over the idea of adding a baby to my life. I didn’t know about kids. I had never even been around a baby, never babysat or anything. “It seems that you are carrying triplets.” My mouth fell open. Fox grabbed my hand and was beaming but my anger was palpable over the news.

I picked up the closest thing to me and threw it yelling. “You fucking shithead.” I yelled at Fox as I looked at him. “You fucking did this.” I went to throw a punch at him but he grabbed my punch and tried to say something but I was furious. “You piece of shit you did this. It was in your office wasn’t it. You did this, stupid fucking seduction. Sticking your fucking fingers in my pussy getting me all hot. You you you, fucking asshole.” The technician said “Miss Blake you can’t yell and speak like this here.”

My eyes narrowed on her. “Bitch don’t tell me what to do, I will fucking  cut you, now get the hell out.” I screamed. “Ophelia calm down.” My finger pointed to Fox. “You don’t talk to me right now. I am mad at you.” He used a dark tone, one that always worked on me and said. “Stop yelling, you are being a cunt for no reason. Chill the fuck out.” I felt my eye twitch and I shut up. I was fuming. “Sorry my wife has a temper.” I snapped at him. “I am not your wife yet.” Then mumbled “asshole” under my breath.

“Yes, um here is the heartbeats.” She said pointing to them on the screen. I could see the movement in each of the hearts but didn’t say anything more. “I can give you some recommendations for some OBGYN’s if you like.” Fox spoke the rest of the check up and I just zoned out. She gave the names. I caught some of the things she said but mostly ignored everyone for the most part. I finally was discharged but had to wait for Fox to go get me some clothes as I was only in a hospital gown. A woman came in and pulled up a chair.

“I was told maybe you wanted to see what your options are with being pregnant.” I stared at her. I knew she was telling me I could get an abortion. “Fuck off” I said and looked forward. “It is okay to be upset and if you really don’t want to be pregnant, we can take care of it. I looked back at her. “I won’t be needing that. So, like I said Fuck the hell off.” She nodded and left me alone. Fox came back soon enough, and we left. I was fuming. “Fox when to we get the gangbanger?” I asked avoiding the topic of all things baby or babies, I guess.

“Oh, don’t worry about that, I will handle it.” He said calmly. “Fox I am not an invalid; I am helping with ending the crime war we are in.” He shook his head. “No, you are going to plan our wedding focus on finding a home and resting, you are growing our kids, and I need you and them safe.” I clenched my teeth. “I already hired a wedding planner she can do that, just give me a date.” He looked surprised. “And we are staying in the penthouse, or we can rebuild my uncle's townhouse, but we are staying in the city.” I snapped.

I liked the city more and it was closer to his work. “We need a yard for the kids.” So, things were now changing. I grumbled. I would be getting my way one way or another and he would deal with it. “And when we get home you are to go rest.” He commanded. “Fuck You.” I said and as we got to the red light, I opened the car door and got out. I wanted to be alone. Fox had brought me clothes and weapons when he came back to the hospital. I would be fine on my own and needed time to digest this all. “Get back in the car” Fox shouted before I slammed him the door and flicked him off.
