Chapter 107 - My Rebellious Luna
MATT POV
We exit the pack house and the bunker door is guarded by ranger asshat and the Beta of Dark Shadows. “I’ll handle this.” I told the warriors and took a fighting stance. The Beta followed suit, but asshat is too much of a coward and begins to shift. Shit! “Dios mio que es eso! (oh my god what is that!) Becky’s mother cried out.
This entire time, Dark Shadows had managed to take control of our pack and keep us in line without shifting in front of Becky’s parents. There wasn’t much fighting, so there was no need. This was more of a hostile takeover. Cisco decides two against one isn’t enough and shifts as well. At this point I ignore the fact that Becky’s parents are behind us and shift.
The wolf is out of the bag and I’m actually surprised it didn’t happen sooner. Not wanting this to be a fair fight, they both lunge at me at the same time. I slid under ranger asshat and dug my claws into his side. I hear him whine but focus on Cisco who is already in front of me. One of his paws swipes at me, his claws grazed my snout. Seeing he was off balance, I lunged forward, knocking him back.
I quickly bite down on his neck and yelp when asshat bites down on my leg and begins to pull. Refusing to let go, I shake my head and tear Cisco’s head off. Turning around, I snap my teeth at asshat who releases my leg and takes a few steps back. We begin to circle each other but I can smell his fear. He looks at the tree line and I can tell he’s thinking of hightailing out of here.
His body turns slightly but before he can run, I pounce on him and dig both of my claws into his neck. He whines and cries out in pain. I look into his eyes as my claws go deeper and his blood gushes out around my paws. He makes a disgusting gurgling sound before his tongue hangs to the side and his eyes go lifeless.
Picking him up with my claws still imbedded in him, I threw him to the side and shifted back. “Mira este sin vergüenza. (look at this shameless.) I covered myself with my hand and looked around for something to cover myself. One of the warriors ran inside the packhouse and came back with some shorts. “Luke and the warriors are by the border. The Dark Shadows warriors are retreating and should be here soon.” Jerry announced, giving me a knowing look.
Quickly, I opened the bunker and Jerry led Becky’s parents inside. They both looked too confused to refuse as they walked in. Manny and Sergio greeted them and that seemed to relax them a little. Jerry quickly closed the bunker door and looked at me for further instructions. I turned to the warriors who were also waiting for my directions. “Join the other warriors, wait for instructions.” I ordered, and began to walk away.
I could hear Jerry behind me. “Where are you going?” He asked while typing on his tablet. “ To find Becky. Go to the bunker.” He scoffed and began to walk toward the training grounds. “I still have some more surprises for Alpha Adam.” He didn’t bother turning as he kept walking. I shook my head, he would be unstoppable as a wolf. “Luna?” I finally had a moment to reach out to her.
When she didn’t respond, I began to get nervous. “Matt! I’m hiding under Celia’s shop porch, the smell of the fire is hiding my scent. Are my parents with you?” She asked worriedly. I shook my head even though she couldn’t see me. “They are in the bunker.” I turned and started to make my way back to the pack house. “I wanted to come help but… he would use them or me to get what he wants.” She tried to explain.
I understood what she meant. “It’s okay, Luna. Luke is almost here, stay hidden for now.” Otherwise he would use her parents to manipulate her or use her to manipulate Luke. It’s best if she stays hidden. Right now we need to find Alpha Adam. His small army is nearly gone, but he is capable of getting an army of rogues and doing this all over again. He needs to be dealt with.
ALPHA LUKE POV
Finally! We arrived at our border expecting a fight. The last thing we expected to find as the sun finished setting was no welcome party. “Pastelito, are you okay?” I needed to check on her first and for most. “Luke! You’re here!” She began to sniffle and I wished I could hold her, but I needed to do something first. “Yes my Luna, I’m here now. Stay in the bunker. I will come get you once we’re done.” I assured her.
I could sense apprehension and worry coming from her. “Um… I didn’t make it to the bunker but I am hiding! I’m under the porch that belongs to Celia’s store.” Esta mujer! (This woman!) “I don’t have time to get into why your not in the bunker right now. Just stay hidden until I tell you to come out.” I tried not to get angry or panic. There was something I needed to do before that. “Matt, what am I walking into?” We stopped a few yards from the pack.
“Alpha! We’ve taken care of most of the Dark Shadows warriors. A new wave came a few minutes ago. They had been at Tom’s diner but returned when they couldn’t get into the tunnel opening.” It sounded like they had everything taken care of. “Alpha Adam?” I asked. “We are all looking for him.” He said cautiously.
There was no way I was going to get into why my Luna was in hiding instead of the bunker. “Have some warriors get Becky from under Celia’s store. I didn’t want to risk him finding her, before we found him.” Our pack was large and with the fire burning it was hard to get his scent. “Stay here with half of the warriors, form a perimeter at the border in case he has anything planned.” I told Jordan who was walking towards me.
I had no idea if he had any other surprises, but I wasn’t going to risk being caught off guard for the hundredth time. Splitting the remaining warriors into three groups, we went in search of my brother. I just hoped he hadn’t slipped out before we arrived.
