Chapter 105 - My Rebellious Luna

ALPHA ADAM POV

I will admit that this pack is much bigger than my previous one. That reminds me. “Cisco, make sure Hugh stops setting off explosives. We can’t have him destroying my new pack.” I said via mindlink. That idiot didn’t know how to measure himself. Just like when I asked him to rough up who I thought was the Gamma’s mate.

My brothers Luna and my prisoner. The same one who is glaring at me with her hand on her hip. “You know, you are much smaller in person. I, for one, like my women tall and a little thicker.” I said, trying to get under her skin. “And?” She raised her eyebrow and shrugged at me. “I definitely can’t make you my Luna… maybe you can be my mistress.” I grinned at her.

She rolled her eyes and scoffed. “We both know you aren’t interested in me. You want the pack and now you have it. I’m the way you plan to keep it. An army of warriors is coming your way and I’m the only thing stopping them from ripping you and your cronies to pieces.” She said as she looked me straight in the eyes.

I nodded, agreeing with her. “True… but what’s to say I didn’t kill Luke and keep you after he surrenders the pack?” That got a glare out of her. “You kidnapped two humans, the elders will find out and..” Wrong. “I didn’t kidnap them. They received a message from Luke that you were sick and they came running. I merely helped them get here.” True story.

When I couldn’t tap into the phones within the pack, I did the next best thing. I tapped her parents’ phone. It was challenging but totally worth it. Although she didn’t speak about the pack or the attack, there were things she said that gave me an idea of when they would attack. I trusted my gut, and it paid off. Finding out about her pregnancy was a bonus, it was also the way I got them to come willingly.

“Don’t pull that bullshit semantics on me! You know damn well they will know what you did. You may get the pack momentarily, but it will be taken from you.” She growled at me. Calmly, I stood up and flipped the desk over, startling her. “I want to see someone take something from me! Golden Moon, one of the biggest packs in this territory, fell at my feet. I’m not scared of anyone.” Her confidence wavered as reality set in.

She shook her head and began to laugh at me. This bitch must be out of her mind! “You don’t have anything for anyone to take! You left your pack and claimed ownership of something that was never meant to be yours! You fear nothing because you have nothing.” She sighed as her little giggling fit died down.

If she wasn’t more careful, I would end up strangling her before Luke showed up. We only had about a half an hour before that happened. “Yet someone that has nothing managed to best you and your pack, time and time again.” I walked closer to her and she stepped back into the wall. “I’m starting to think that letting Luke keep you might be a lifelong punishment for him.” I half joked.

She tsked. “Let’s wait for you to be in that position first. Right now you are still waiting for my mate to arrive and kill you.” I took two quick steps and was about to strangle her when Cisco’s mindlink interrupted. “Alpha. We couldn’t get into the bunker from either side. The doors have codes and are reinforced.” I roared in annoyance.

This may be the first thing to go wrong, but I needed those pack members. Warriors are easily sacrificed but innocent pack members. They pulled at the heartstrings. “What is the code to the bunker?” I asked as calmly as I could. That seemed to amuse her because that mouth of hers curled up into a grin. “Code?” She said and furrowed her eyebrows.

BECKY POV

This man clearly didn’t see me as a threat, wolf or no wolf. To him I was simply a pregnant shewolf he could demean. Things could be worse, he could be torturing me right now. I needed to tone my sassiness down before he decided to go that route. “Don’t act like you don’t know what code I’m talking about. Both doors that lead into the bunker have codes and I want them.” He demanded.

These are the times I wished I was a good actress. I couldn’t let him get to the pack members. Right now, we still have a little hope. If he got to them, we would never put their lives at risk to keep a piece of land. I looked at him with the most solemn expression I could muster. “I’m sorry to disappoint you, Alpha Adam. I was not given the codes.” I could tell by that big vein on the side of his temple that he doubted me.

He chuckled and sighed dramatically. “The Luna of the pack doesn’t know the code to the bunker that she was on her way to hide in when I showed up.” He stated. “Well, someone was supposed to let me in. When you showed up, it all went to crap.” I tried not to be so smarmy but I’m not sure that helped. “You know…” He paused and walked up to me.

Standing way too close for comfort, he placed his hand on my shoulder. “I’ve been really nice to you. Much nicer than I am required to be, considering you’re my prisoner.” He gripped my shoulder, and began to tighten it as he leaned closer. “Do you want me to have Hugh come beat the code out of you? Should we repeat history?” He threatened and Celeste was ready to shift and kill this hijo de puta (motherfucker).

I’m still under two months and that means I can shift. Yet my training doesn’t qualify me to kill an Alpha or anyone, for that matter. These are the times I wish I had a damn pitchfork. Light bulb! “You know what? Hugh managed to get the jump on me because I was human, that was not a fair fight.” I waved my finger at him.

He seemed intrigued, so I continued. “Why don’t you let me have a shot at him and I’ll give you the code.” I suggested. Goddess I hope I’m not making a big mistake. “You want to face Hugh.” He laughed and shook his head. “Why not? There is a nice open space in front of the training grounds that will allow for a fair fight.” I reasoned.

His eyes went cloudy for a moment and he began to pull me down the stairs and through the back door, away from the dining room. I had hoped he would take me the other way so I could see how my parents, Matt, and the warriors were doing. We reached the training grounds and Hugh slithered out of the shadows like the snake he is. “I heard you wanted to see me, Luna.” He circled me and I began to step away from him.

Slowly he kept walking in my direction and I continued to move back, slightly turning to see where I was headed. “Are you scared all of the sudden?” He asked. My back hit one of the sheds that contained training gear. “Come on now, this isn’t any fun.” He growled. My hand slipped between the sheds and gripped something I wasn't familiar with, but knew exactly what it was. With one last crazy look, he lunged at me as I pulled out the machete and swung it with all my might.

“Where did she get that?” Adam yelled as the sharp blade sliced through Hugh's neck. The look of shock on his decapitated head was priceless. “Muerete! (Die!)” I watched as his body fell to the ground and his head rolled over to Adam’s feet. Dark Shadows warriors began to circle me when suddenly there was a huge explosion in front of the pack house. They all turned and I didn’t waste this opportunity and ran into the tree line. I needed to figure out how to save my parents and free Matt and the warriors.
